Mee's Reaction

One minute you're having a pretty damned good season, admired by the fans, filling our tricky LCB more than admirably, giving your all for the cause with some real crunching tackles that no one else in our side seems to be able to make, even covering at LB exceptionally well - The next you're dropped, not even on the bench completely absent from the matchday squad altogether

It's not often you get to see inside a players mind, as the club/manager/captain usually comes out with some bullsh1t and everyone's none the wiser, but thanks to the magic of Twitter, we get a rare insight into what a player was thinking when Bruma was re-instated to the squad and Mee wasn't even on the bench despite being able to play in a couple of positions:

Wow, didn't expect that.

Then when asked by someone "why have you been dropped from matchday squad?"

His reply was:

wondering the same mate

Although obviously gutted & mystified he still added

Hope we still get a result, cmon lads!

Finding some joy in the day with the semi-final victory of his parent club ManCity he said

Cheer up united, atleast you've not got a long journey home weeey.. Made my day slightly better!

Before finishing off with

Thanks for all the comments, I can't answer all your questions but I'm enjoying my time at the club so hopefully I'll b back in soon!

Whilst he has possibly said stuff outside the usual corporate-style propoganda, it does show that not only was he surprised he didn't have a clue why

He's not the 1st player to not be selected & certainly won't be the last, but I'm a bit surprised it not only came so out-the-blue, but he was left in the dark, which for me says more about the manager/coaching staff than the ridiculous decision in the first place to play the ineffective jonah Bruma, leaving Mee out the squad altogether

Hopefully if there was a chance to sign Mee in the summer - this feck awful mistake hasn't damaged it

If i was Ben Mee, i would certainly be thinking long and hard, if they`re was an opportunity to sign for us, at the end of the season.

It`s a mystery to me why he was dropped, he`s been solid when he`s played, and actually gives us a better balance defensively, cos he plays on the left.

The treatment of Mee and Vitor, and even weale, (to be honest i`m not his biggest fan) who was dropped at a time when he had been playing really well, has not been too impressive in my opinion.

Same for Hobbs as well, to some extent.

Hobbs just seemed to be finding a bit of form, when we brought in Sol, and moved Hobbs over to the left, another one who has never been comfortable on the left side.

Hobbs then struggles, and is jettisoned from the team, and to Hull, where he`s now more like his old self apparently.

Sadly, i think it`s unlikely we will see Hobbs again in a Leicester shirt.

Sven has certainly got alot of work to do in the summer, but while i don`t always agree with some of his decisions, i do think and believe that he will get it right, and that next season is going to be a very good one.

He's no 'jeff bruma' ? Thank God he's no jeffrey bleedin' bruma!

Hope Sven comes to his senses and signs Mee and Naughton and clears the rest off, that way we've got the basis of a good defence next year with Greg Cunningham coming back and a new keeper

Own up. Whose duplicate account is this?

situation is that bamba is as close to a leader at the back that we have at the moment (that itself is pretty silly) and he's also a threat at set pieces so he is first choice RCB.

the other CB shifts from between Bruma and Mee.

Mee = reasonably consistent - some poor decision making leading to penalties - but good feet and level head, forward runs, pace, good in the air and crunching tackles

Bruma = strong, reasonably quick, some good forward runs, but shaky and stupid, silly yellows/reds.

Sven has favourites that he plays quite a lot? Not ruthless enough with team selection?

It's pretty obvious that Mee and Bamba is the best possible partnership at the club. Does Sven constantly change Mee for Bruma because he's his favourite? Then why does he keep playing Mee every now and then? I have suspicions that Man City and Chelsea have/have been putting a lot of pressure on Sven to keep playing both - hence the changes

When things were going well for Bamba, they were going crazily well......scoring goals, dribbling past people, nicking it away from them

You always felt there was mistakes in him, and now his forms dipping unfortunately.

All players have dips in form, even the best players in the world FACT

Yeah but what i meant was that he was taking risks, playing with an unbelieveable freedom that at times was bordering on naive. It was impossible hed be able to keep that going

I felt at times, he was always on the edge of a big mistake

Think Bruma has played every time he's been legible too, he didn't play for his first week or 2 with us, whilst he was obviously finding his feet on the training ground and then he was out with a knock, and then he was obviously suspended, but in-between those events, Sven has shoehorned him in.

TBH, the best I've seen Bruma play was QPR away, when even Bruma himself was bemused at playing out of position (can't remember exactly but I think he either played leftback or holding-mid) but any central partnership he's been in looks even more shakey, then its usual shakiness

What about the Crystal Palace game? He didn't play then.

"It doesn't mean we would have done better had other players played."

What a load of rubbish sven, of course it would have made a difference!

Mee would have been ripped a new one by Kebe as well.

There is no way of knowing, what's for certain is that Reading were in exceptional form for that game, and of late. So it would have been a difficult game for whoever was involved.
