Rusko187 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Dunno. But a spot of Vanish and a 40 degree wash should sort it out. See I thought it was fake tan for your stomach .
Nick Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I knew there'd be one to bring this up. <_< If I had the power, I'd unlock the Nicky maynard thread and stick my source/quote in there and lock it up again, but until then it had to be put here. I'm sorry but I had no choice. No News. Show me the news. "Had to, no choice"
wellyfox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 So the merc say's a bid of 4.75 is still on the table. If they have not turned that down that say's to me if NM say's he wants to leave they will take that bid. We was led to believe this offer was made last week and turned down.
cc_star Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Nicky Maynard has come out himself and said he's happy to stop at Brizzle and he hopes they can get a deal done soon with regards to his contract renewal "I'm happy here playing football and long may it continue."My agent's been in talks with (chairman) Colin Sexstone and (vice chairman) Keith Dawe. Hopefully something will get sorted out sooner rather than later." Also, there's no new news in that report, just as usual the Mercury is catching up on news /thread

I think most of us thought it had been rejected. This suggests otherwise, either that, or we are reading too much into it.
Petchy Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Don't get why topics like this and the old Maynard thread get locked though, if people want to discuss Maynard even when there is no fresh 'news' then shouldn't they be allowed to? If you don't like people talking about it then don't go into the topic and read it.
Haydos Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 No News. Show me the news. "Had to, no choice" I realise why the other one was closed but don't see why people couldn't have been warned to stay on topic a couple of times. What's wrong with people debating a very possible transfer in one of the most exciting summers we've had for years?
accessory Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 But the thread title suggests "further developments" - misleading much?
cc_star Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Also, I think the article is wrong On their OS it says two bids have been declined It is known our 3rd bid was £4.75m and the Merc article starts off by saying we've had 3 bids rejected... so how can a bid of £4.75m remain on the table if that was our 3rd bid and according to them we've had 3 bids rejected. Coupled with Maynard's desire to stay, this deal is as dead as any discussion over it.
wellyfox Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 I think most of us thought it had been rejected. This suggests otherwise, either that, or we are reading too much into it. Praps we are reading too much into it. But is more likely than the brisol rag saying an LCFC club spokes person had said we no longer had an intrest. And have now said sorry.

Guest Bilo Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 The apology from Bristol's local paper for quoting a spokesman that didn't exist yesterday, coupled with today's Mercury report that an offer is still in the offing does give me the impression that there are still hopes of this happening. From what the more reasonable Brizzle posters have been saying on here, the EP doesn't even have reliable 'sources' at their club let alone here. What is encouraging though is that Sven won't have our pants pulled down over the price, I can see him waiting out the contract negotiations and taking advantage of any uncertainty. For all their 'we don't need the money' bluster, BC's chairman would rather have it than a player who isn't willing to commit and will most likely leave for zip in a year.
Darkon84 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Sorry we keepin you awake Sorry mate, wasnt directed at you, just the whole Nikcy Maynard saga in general and the creation of a new thread, yet there are no new develoents Ive lost interest in it, and him aswell to be honest. The guy is messing everyone around. He has a couple of options 1) Sign a contract and stay where he is, 2) Flat out refuse to sign any contract, therefore forcing Brizzles hand to either accept an offer or risk losing him for cheap or free at a later date, 3) Hand in a transfer request, hopefully forcing Brizzle to accept an offer, as they dont want an unhappy player in the changing room. He hasnt done any of those things, instead he is keeping both clubs in limbo. If he signs for us, I'll be pleased, im sure he would do a good job, but right now, i dont really care because it seems like he is taking thepiss a little. Aaaaaand breathe....rant over
Fox92 Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 Hopefully because I think he is the player that will score goals. However, I hope it is for a reasonable fee, I don't want us to start paying 5/6million all the time for players that may not be worth it.
ithuriel Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 The guy has got three options and he obviously is playing BCFC to get his prefference since he has not said or done anything yet. 1/ Let his contract run out and go where he pleases and a nice big signing on fee etc., 2/ Hand in a transfer request, losing some cash from BCFC but making it up with a decent signing on fee etc., 3/ Milk BCFC for all he can via a new contract but be tied to Bristol knowing they will ask for a huge fee in selling him, unless he can get them to put into contract a reasonable sale price, escape clause etc.,

Aaaaaand breathe....rant over He's not messing anyone around He has said he's happy & wants to stay and he hopes a deal can be done soon... how many more clues do people need. It the exact opposite of Leeds selling Kasper to the first bidders, Brizzle have knocked back all our offers AND the player wants to stay. Not sure why this is being dragged out by us. We're the only people who can't see it's dead, perhaps its just our wishful thinking that we assume everyone will be queuing up to sign for us and Sven, but as we've seen with our targetted forwards, that just isn't the case

Guest Bilo Posted 14 July 2011 Posted 14 July 2011 He wants to stay so badly he hasn't signed a new contract and his response on BC's OS was to say 'whatever happens, happens.' Hardly a proclamation of undying love and desire to stay.

Hardly a proclamation of undying love and desire to stay. Exactly. I stick to my first comment that he has 3 options....none of which he has chosen. Until he does, he is leaving his own club, and our club in limbo.
