Haydos Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Right....i'm officially declaring this a Saga. It's only a fooking saga because everybody has spent 2 days talking absolute garbage about something which has barely any ground yet. We haven't even had an offer accepted for fvck sake, what the fvck are people expecting?!

The Year Of The Fox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 I hope waghorn features a lot more next season. It suprises me that were looking at maynard when we have our own good prospect. I can only think that if people say waghorn is shit that they; 1. Didnt go to any games under pearson or 2. Didn't go to any games this season either! I went to every home game bar boro, and I can't remember 5 games where he had a decent amount of game time. The two games where he made an impact that stand out in particular are scunny at home (1st game after sousa left) where he scored the opening goal which he finished really well. The 2nd game was obviously bristol. These are two straight off the top of my head, there are more. To say hes shit is ridiculous. Had he played last season and been as good as the season before he'd be one of the hottest players in the league

Had he played last season and been as good as the season before he'd be one of the hottest players in the league Waghorn wasn't anywhere near good enough last season, maybe 4-3-3 doesn't suit him of maybe he like Fryatt, Weale and Hobbs played well under Pearson but can't cope with a more expansive game, either way Maynard is better than him, he has a better track record, seems to be a more natural finisher and is probably slightly quicker although I'm not sure about that so if we move Waghorn on and replace him with Maynard we have done some very good business. I like Waghorn and think he could well go on to be a quality striker and score lots of goals but Maynard is already a proven championship goalscorer

millzi Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 thanks bert, jest keep your eyes and ears out for any more information and for gods sake, BE CAREFUL. :crylaugh: From a brizzle forum. Posted Today, 03:03 PM I'm staggered that people have said they would take 4m + waghorn! Firstly we need to keep maynard no matter what but if he did go, accept a offer no less than 6 million. Secondly waghorn is total dogshite! Pure bitterness still from that 90th minute screamer he scored at the Walkers in February!
hackneyfox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 To say hes shit is ridiculous. Had he played last season and been as good as the season before he'd be one of the hottest players in the league Has anyone actually said that he is shit? The last sentence is just ridiculous.

Kilworthfox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Waghorn was quality first season here, and everyone was desperate for him to stay. Just because he didn't have a great season last season doesn't make him a bad player. Most of his games came from the bench, and whenever he started, his contribution was always better than it was poor. The boy just needs some confidence. He's got a decent rapport with the fans and the rest of the squad. Personally, we'd be silly to let him go. 100% agree, he just needs games, maybe a loan move for a couple of months because we know he has the work ethic & can score goals
Babylon Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Twitter stuff goes in the twitter thread please, that includes fourth official. People are fed up of the twitter stuff, this will be dealt with harshly if people persist.
Dylan Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 People on the Brizzle City Forum are comparing Maynard to Rooney. They're very confident Maynard would outscore Rooney if he played for Man U. :crylaugh: :crylaugh: "Not daft at all, Rooney and Maynard up front for Manu, Maynard would outscore him, dont see anything daft in that. Maynard is a better finisher.and TBH, I think Rooney is overrated, he was world class, not sure whats happened, but he's lost it."

hackneyfox Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Almost as ridiculous as claims that Waghorn could score 20 a season for us. I'd love to be wrong but I don't think he's that type of player.

Maynard scoring more than Rooney at Man U is MUCH more ridculous. Waghorn's only 21, whose to say he doesn't have potential to improve and become 20goal Championship scorer? He scored 12 when he was 19- in 28 STARTS. Not saying he's the best of players, but doesn't deserve to be written off so easily.

Dylan Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 But writing him off now is ridiculous, after one bad season with us, especially as he's only 21. Everyone would be delighted to sign Maynard now. In Maynard's first season in the Championship (with Bristol City), he only scored 11 in 43 (34 starts), when he was 22-23. If everyone writ him off then he would never have got the chance to show his potential that he can be a 20-goal-scorer at this level. Not saying Waghorn is definitely going to be that good, but he shown in our play-off season he has potential (a similar goal ratio to Maynard's 1st season) when he was given a good run in the team, and being 3 years younger then.
acooling08 Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Half of those were penalties if I remember correctly. *edit* Then he missed the one that counted most. Harsh. Actually, Kermogant missed the one that mattered most. His miss put the pressure on big time. Even if Waggy had scored, we'd of needed to save the next Cardiff penalty to stay in it anyway. I really like Waghorn. But Sven only likes who he brings in himself.

dog_4 Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 13 goals first season! hardly played last season and scored 5 goals! so underated! Leeds and Barnsley away he played up top on his own and was one of the best players and we won and played well in both games! save the cash and give waghorn a chance!
Spudulike Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 Give them Howard! Plus 3.5 Mill! Good call (not about the £3.5m cos' I don't think he's worth that in the circumstances). If any Bristol fans are reading this then Big Steve is just what you need
Corky Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 But Sven only likes who he brings in himself. Manager in preferring his own players shock. Yet still plays some of last season's team.
Unabomber Posted 24 June 2011 Posted 24 June 2011 We'll give em Howard and they can give us Maynard and £5m (i learnt how to negotiate by reading the bristol city forum)
