Just been speaking to Rob Tanner, as it stands Waggy is IN Svens plans for next season so any romours about a trade deal is just a rumour. And as Bert has just informed us this will not happen quickly if at all.

Nothing will happen before this time next week (when this thread'll likely hit 100 pages)

Waghorn thing is just a twitter rumour obviously. I might start my own soon, I feel left out.

No all south westers do! that and scrumpy, Proper Job!

I'm a little offended being from the south west...

Pipe down Joker and come and have a blackthorn and a ginsters by the waterfront with me to calm down - you know it's true!

Edit: And we can go to Asdaw's after

Bert: is it likely its either or regarding CMS & NM? putting pressure on Bristol to take the money while they can? or is it possible we are looking at taking both

There's so many situations that could arise.

I'm staggered that people have said they would take 4m + waghorn! Firstly we need to keep maynard no matter what but if he did go, accept a offer no less than 6 million. Secondly waghorn is total dogshite!

Bit harsh. Played out of position alot last year. He was superb at Oakwell playing through the middle

So he had one good game?

He seems like a bit of a one season wonder if I'm honest.

More than one, was just highlighting that particular game.

Can't of been easy for him last year, hopefully he'll get a good start to this season and kick on

He barely played last season, and when he did he was out of position or came off the bench with 5 minutes left :frusty: When he played in a formation that suited him and in the right position he did well for us and helped us push on for a play-off place. One good season, one bad season where he hardly played, he must be shit.

If he manages to have a good pre-season and force his way into a starting position, I'll happily take back my "he's shit" comments.

I just hope that he'll spend some time realising not to snatch at every chance he has and be a little more composed.

Well, he didn't come off the bench with 5 minutes left in every game did he?

When he got considerably longer time on the field, he wasted his opportunities to get more playing time, he let himself down this season.

His finishing is very erratic, but hopefully some coaching will sort that out.

Just needs to put last year behind him and have a fresh start

I think another problem last year was that he was trying to hard to prove himself to Sven and nothing really happened for him. The year before everything seem to happen so naturally for him.

I'm afraid I have to strongly disagree with some comments about waghorn, he is a player who thrives on confidence and the best example of this was the first game after sousa's sacking, waggy had a blinder! Anyway look at the goals he scored under Pearson, the goal against Donny was my favourite pure strength, pace and a killer finish, Waggy has plenty of potential and I believe if given the chance next season he could net 20 goals!

Agree. He never really had a chance this year out of position or out of favour most of the time. He came on and scored that winner against Bristol city and didn't even start the next game!

Waghorn was quality first season here, and everyone was desperate for him to stay. Just because he didn't have a great season last season doesn't make him a bad player. Most of his games came from the bench, and whenever he started, his contribution was always better than it was poor.

The boy just needs some confidence. He's got a decent rapport with the fans and the rest of the squad.

Personally, we'd be silly to let him go.

This. He scored 13 was it under pearson and he only really got regular starts after fryatts injury so think how many he could,ve had with more playing time! Him and Maynard could develop into an immense partnership

He could, but the key thing here is that when Sven cam in he didn't have time for a player to get game time to start scoring goals, he had to have someone scoring from the word go.

He's openly said that Waggy is in his plans next season, so just wait and see what happens.
