thybluefox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Spending more than £4million on him worries me, he's not worth it. Interesting that we're hearing from 1 or 2 trusted sources now that they'll take £5million....really sounds like he's not for sale doesn't it.
Dan Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 maynard doesnt want to go to you lot, if he did he would of handed in a transfer request when you first bid, besides its a step sideways at best, lets not forget you were only an average league one team not so long ago! you now have a failed england manager in charge and now your worldbeaters! if he was to go and at it was to the east midlands then coventry would be a better bet for him, much nicer city, stadium is 10x better than yours and the fan base potential is more significant than yours "Average League One team", no, we absolutely fvcking dicked it. Quite simply the most clueless post ever, Coventry are absolutely fvck all on us and you know it. Think you're on the wind-up personally, so I'll stop here.
Babylon Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Exactly what we've been saying isn't it... To be fair it's not far off what some of your lot think mate.
Babylon Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Think you're on the wind-up personally, so I'll stop here. Course he is, the bloody Coventry thing was the give away.
Dicko Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Apparently Leon Best has been told he can leave Newcastle, he's looked decent when i've seen him play before. Could be an alternative, and certainly wouldn't cost as much.
tomtom Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I doubt very much he'll be joining us now, but the dilemma he's got is does he sign a new contract, have better wages for a year and then leave or run down his contract , stay on the current salary and leave in a year on a free with BCFC not getting a penny and himself getting a hefty signing on fee and better wages! Please no one bite with the brizzle numpty posting!
Kent Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Apparently Leon Best has been told he can leave Newcastle, he's looked decent when i've seen him play before. Could be an alternative, and certainly wouldn't cost as much. Are you Alan Young in disguise?
Babylon Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 3m for CMS? £3.25... Maybe Maynard is worth £12 billion like they think Apparently Leon Best has been told he can leave Newcastle, he's looked decent when i've seen him play before. Could be an alternative, and certainly wouldn't cost as much. Go away and think about what you just said!!
Darkon84 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Jesus. Of course he doesn't have to hand in a transfer request, that's the last thing he will do to force the move through. The easiest thing to do is say "i'm not signing a contract". At that point your chairman has two decisions to make, sell him for a reasonable fee, or lose him for nothing. Your chairman has not become a multi millionaire making stupid decisions like the latter. You're own press statements show he will sell if Nicky doesn't sign a contract, they don't want to sell, but if he won't sign then they need to look at it. It's in Maynards court end of story. Player power wins.
Dicko Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Go away and think about what you just said!! What? He's decent finisher, quite powerful, can play up on his own if needs be. He'd score goals for us I think.
hackneyfox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 £3.25... Maybe Maynard is worth £12 billion like they think Go away and think about what you just said!! Not a fan of Leon Best then Babylon?
Babylon Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Not a fan of Leon Best then Babylon? I'd rather play a sack of potatoes up front.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Since we didn't get CMS I would say bid about £4.5 because we need another striker plus he is still young...
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Bristol City are greedy fvckers. He's a decent player and still young...why not ask for more money
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 £4m rejected? Hmmmm starting to get worried about this now! Even if we do get him then it'll be close to our record signing, that is some serious pressure!!
psychonaut Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 What? He's decent finisher, quite powerful, can play up on his own if needs be. He'd score goals for us I think. Not proven at this level or any level. We are after premier status and require strikers that will give us the best chance of getting there. Two seasons ago or even start of last season maybe.
hackneyfox Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 I'd rather play a sack of potatoes up front. Alan Young is a fan Just wondering who else Sven may have lined up, the price for strikers seems to start at 3.25m
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 £4m rejected? Hmmmm starting to get worried about this now! Even if we do get him then it'll be close to our record signing, that is some serious pressure!! We bidded £2m for him
Ross_Spencer Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 Bristol City are greedy fvckers. To be fair, if we owned a dominant striker and a team wanted to buy him, we would expect / hope that our owners would pull out all the stocks for him to stay at the club
jonw88 Posted 6 July 2011 Posted 6 July 2011 At this rate, I'd rather get the Yak. Wages might be higher but will be cheaper in price and probably guaranteed 20 goals a season at least, whereas Maynard could end up injured again quite easily.
