out of intrest what would you pay him as we've offered 25k a week with a 10k goal bonus

Hopefully not that much as he's not worth that, but it's rumoured we've given Nugent over £20,000 a week and we've offered Matt Mills £30,000 a week. Money is no object for us, which makes me feel a little uneasy as it could all end in tears. I hope Nicky stays with you if i'm honest, he's not worth the money quoted.

maynard doesnt want to go to you lot, if he did he would of handed in a transfer request when you first bid, besides its a step sideways at best, lets not forget you were only an average league one team not so long ago! you now have a failed england manager in charge and now your worldbeaters! if he was to go and at it was to the east midlands then coventry would be a better bet for him, much nicer city, stadium is 10x better than yours and the

fan base potential is more significant than yours

How were we an average league 1 side when we finished the season as clear champions?

The bit about cov is comedy genius by the way. But not in the way you meant it.

This will be the first and last time i will reply to a wind up merchant. (hopefully)

Glad you brought that up sweetheart.

The decision of CMS to go to Brighton frees up some funds. At one point, we were bidding for both CMS and Maynard at around £3m each. With half of that saved by his decision to go to Brighton, we now have an extra £3m to throw at Bristol for a player Sven obviously wants badly, and as we know Sven gets what he wants more often than not. Ask Ulrika. Add in the rumours that we pulled out of the CMS deal at the last minute because we had other deals planned and I doubt I have to draw you a picture.

We've turned down two more bids and made it clear he's not for sale,

I'm guessing it was you guys and I'm guessing it was 3.5 and 4 million quid ish

if maynard wanted to leave he would of handed a transfer request in when the first bid was rejected,

Unless you meet our asking price he's going nowhere we don't need the money

Not neccesarily, Maynard and his agent may sit tight hoping that BCFC give in to LCFC and then if BCFC agree to sell it is they who would be breaking the contract with Maynard so Maynard would be able to take more money from the deal. However, if Maynard requests a move then BCFC would be better of financially from the deal as it is Maynard that is breaking the contract.

The other issue is that BCFC don't have an asking price as they are stating that Maynard is not for sale.

The other issue is that if Maynard does put in a transfer request then BCFC may give in as no-one wants a player in their ranks that isn't committed to tje club.

Lots of ifs and buts....

If he wants to come he will have to let it be known sooner rather than later. They will then not be in a position to keep rejecting bids as players always get their own way in the end.

I quite like the scenario where NM stays at drizzol shitty, and we get someone else. We push on and get promoted and NM leaves after another season of mid table/lower half mediocrity that is their usual style, but that he leaves them potless. :crylaugh:

But they have a billionaire as an owner, they are destined to piss this league next season and Nicky is off to the Euros with England next summer.

Just had a £4m bid rejected.

WOW. I'm pleased but a little surprised that we bid that much. Probably more surprised that they turned it down..... But I get the feeling that if we want him bad enough we may go back with more. By the looks of it Sven seems very keen. :fc:

This one made me laugh, if he was a billionaire I think we would know who he was or he would at least have his own Wikipedia page. I'll stand corrected if a BCFC fan can prove otherwise...

As long as the figure isn't £5.5m, that brings back horrid memories. *akinbiyi*

No surprise really, Donny turned down 3.5 for Sharp.

I assume Yakubu's wage demands were extreme as he was available for half the price, and I'm sure we'd have to offer Maynard a small fortune to sign.

If we were offering 4 million and a salary of 25k a week for Maynard we could offer 2m for Yakubu and a salary of 38k a week.

Exactly what we've been saying isn't it...

Jesus.

Of course he doesn't have to hand in a transfer request, that's the last thing he will do to force the move through. The easiest thing to do is say "i'm not signing a contract". At that point your chairman has two decisions to make, sell him for a reasonable fee, or lose him for nothing.

Your chairman has not become a multi millionaire making stupid decisions like the latter. You're own press statements show he will sell if Nicky doesn't sign a contract, they don't want to sell, but if he won't sign then they need to look at it.

It's in Maynards court end of story. Player power wins.

£4m is far to much for a striker that is yet to be proved fully in the Championship yet.

Posted

£4.5mil would probably do it for this guy, but i'm not sure he's worth that much. £4mil was pushing it, expecially with only one year left on his contract.

Let's move on and look at other targets.

You need to seriously listern to yourslf mate! I'm now starting to wonder judging by this post if you actually know anything about football??? Have you been to coventry? Were we really an average league 1 team? did the england team have as much success after Sven left? We pissed league 1 ,made the playoffs in are first season back and were unlucky not to make the playoffs last year. The proof is there my son.Now sit down and answer the questions honestly, however i'm doubting you can't as your knowlegde of the modern game is shocking! You probably don't even know any facts about your own club!
