Babylon Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 He is running a club that is losing ( conservative estimate ) £10M every year. That ain't that impressive. He may be able to run other types of business, but he doesn't seem to know much about football business. You think we'll be running at a profit? I think you are barking up the wrong tree.
Babylon Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Answer as for being worlds apart didn't we beat you on aggregate last season and as I've said before your squad is currently no better than last year. Said by someone who has absolutely no idea of our team. If you did your research you'd find that of our 8 millions loans we'd only miss about 2 maybe 3 of them. The others didn't work. Our best players last year (except for naughton) were the ones we owned. The players coming in are adding things that we had missing last year.
Nick Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 My mates mum works for an airline and she has just taken a flight booking to Sweden from a London based airport departing on Monday. She said I would recognise the name from this forum and gave me his second initial so I posted it in this thread. This isn't true. But as there are so many pages of nonsense I thought I'd add to it.
artursteppe Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 i may be wrong, but isn't football (at lower levels) a horrendous loss making business? That's why we're moving up to the Prem.
lestajigs Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I'm not saying you should accept out offer, fair play for turning it turn. But many of your lot make out you will let him run his contract if he doesn't sign. That's nonsense, I don't care who you owner is, he's not an idiot. If our offer is still on the take in 3 weeks and he's still not signed... I think you might be calling us up. Can't see us waiting 3 weeks, i can see us getting another striker probally nx week, then they will shoot them selves in the foot when he dont sign a new contract,
Redski Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Ok Yak or Nuggent Naughton or Peltier Davis or Mills A keeper that conceeds 71 or one the conceeds 70...

artursteppe Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 You think we'll be running at a profit? I think you are barking up the wrong tree. See what happens with the Thailand/ Asia income as we move up the leagues. Bayern Munich, top ten wealthiest clubs list, do it by having the biggest income away from TV and gate money ie commercial activities. Our owners know that we can potentially get into that sort of league - let your imagination have a little time to itself, and enjoy the ride. Our owners are definitely not in it to lose money.
thybluefox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 So, Yakubu is a no go. People are saying to leave Maynard, who else is there thats going to rip this division apart?
Simmo86 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I doubt we'll be in the premier league anytime soon but no-one would have predicted Burnley, Stoke, Blackpool, Norwich, Hull etc... Answer as for being worlds apart didn't we beat you on aggregate last season and as I've said before your squad is currently no better than last year. :crylaugh:

If our offer is still on the take in 3 weeks and he's still not signed... I think you might be calling us up. I was thinking this exact thing. As much as it would be great to have Maynard on board for pre-season, perhaps we should back off for a bit. Maybe get a striker in on loan and put an improved offer in before the window closes in September. It is getting a bit predictable with us returning with higher offers. The advantage to us backing off is perhaps Maynard is more likely to force the issue - who knows we may be able to return with a similar or lower offer.

stix Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 We want to be able to compete with the teams in our league not sell our best players to them. If we sell NM to you We'll be much weaker and you'll be much stronger. If we self to the prem we'd be weaker and yoI'd be no better off. Same reason Man City would sell Given to Villa but not Arsenal. Fair enough. Thats not what you said though. you said your club could afford to settle for less money if you sold him to a prem club over a championship club.
Darkon84 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Looks like we may have to go abroad then? Wooo where are we going? You're paying by the way
FrankieADZ Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Wooo where are we going? You're paying by the way he wont pay Also if we did get Maynard, we pay £4/5mil for him and he hasnt shown what he could do in the top division. be one hell of a risk. Can someone please tell Maynard to put in a transfer request

Happy Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Author Posted 8 July 2011 Abroad to spain and pick up Barcelona B striker Johnathan soriano http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Soriano 50 goals in 69app
FrankieADZ Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Abroad to spain and pick up Barcelona B striker Johnathan soriano http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Soriano 50 goals in 69app certainly worth a look but i heard Swansea where going after him but couldnt agree personal terms.
80footgiraffe Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Looks like we may have to go abroad then? Jong Tae Se!!!!
ithuriel Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I think now we should let NM run his contract out at Bristol and find a striker from elsewhere for the money being paid and forget about this sleeping giant as they seem to think of themselves whilst they break into the Premier league this coming season
FallenAngel Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 I admire Sven for not bringing in so many overseas players as most other teams do but i would like to think he is still looking and might find an absolute gem, for less than we're bidding for Maynard, i think it's too much for him although yes he could very well be brilliant for us, but i am reserved to the possible fact that we are not going to get him, at least not right now anyway
Itsthejoeker Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 There's irony there somewhere in your username.......... It was entirely sarcastic
surrifox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 this must be in danger of becoming a distraction. Time to walk away I think- BCFC now have a disaffected and unsettled player who will most likely leave for nothing in a years time or virtually nothing in january (so it hasnt been a total waste of time)
