Guest Mee-9 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Fourth_Official Fourth Official As we said last night, Yakubu to Leicester looks pretty much a done deal, fee agreed, just got to thrash out his personal terms #EFC #LCFC
Mac Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Well I'm 50/50 on signing the Yak up. Sure he will score a few goals but in every other game his workrate will frustrate the hell out of me. To me, he just not what I've grown up to believe a Leicester player should be. What was it we used to say, oh yeah.. Foxes never quit! (but Yaks sometimes do)
Callabinho Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 You can play his chant on the google guitar..........
Samilktray Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 The 1 loanee from last season I really want us to sign up.
stix Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 The 1 loanee from last season I really want us to sign up. Absolutely this.....with Naughton obviously.
ibbosuk Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 £3-4 milion for Yakubu or Graham or Morrison? Yakubu all day for me. Yes so would I.
artursteppe Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 I see the bullies are out in force today. If Yakubu is great, why hasn't Sven signed him? Why didn't Everton recall him last season when practically all their strikers were injured? Why did Swansea and Norwich opt for Graham and Morison instead of him? It is just a thought, but maybe Swansea and Norwich didn't sign Yukubu 'cos he is coming to Leicester, only maybe. Think of it from Sven's and Yukubu's point of view, if the Yak is on holiday, and has agreed a deal through his agent, why is there a rush to publicise the deal? Maybe the club might want to do a big 'splash' style press conference with two or three big name signings when those players are back from their hols. It seems to me that most of the 'big' signings this week involve players not on holiday, but maybe in the under 21s tournament. The market generally, not just for us, but everyone will pick up during the last two weeks of June, when a lot of players will be back.
MC Prussian Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 I went to school with this lad called Tom. He was a nice lad an' all. Very friendly but, yer know, not much going on upstairs. You know the type I mean. People used to say "yeah he's a lovely young chap just a little slow. Oh and dull. Dull as hell". As we neared our final years the lack of upstairs action (and downstairs if we're to be honest, he had a "problem with his man area") led to him becoming spiteful and hate filled. So picture it guys, now we had a slightly simple guy who found the world just a little too complicated who no longer had the redeeming feature of being, you know, a nice chap. Just thought I would share this story as I have not thought about old Tom "where's my banana?" Stapleton for years until I read your posts. Is that you Tom? Is that really you? Rumble. (As I know you are a little slow on the uptake let me translate the above story - You are a silly billy, Yakubu is great. Just shut up now you are embarrassing yourself). X This made me chuckle. Storytelling par excellence. Love you, Rumble. In a non-sexual way.
RumbleFox Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Seriously, are we still having this debate? Really? If we sign Yakubu I will be dancing in the street! Anyone who can actually watch him play and not be impressed clearly is a woopsiedonger! So he may not run around like a mad man but my God we have not had a striker of his class for years. 11 goals in 20 games and 6 assists! 6 ASSISTS folks! "Yeah but all he duz is score" and set up six other goals in 20 games! I bet everything I own that if Yakubu's name was John Smith and he was born in Kimberley Road and used to work on the market and he had had exactly the same half season as Yak just had you would all be John Smith Bummers Army! Hope you sign Yak. I love you! X

(but Yaks sometimes do) totally agree, if you put the blue shirt on i think you should play with pride, with passion, for me the yak dont do that, he is slow, lazy, yes he is in the right place at the right time and will score goals but i would prefer someone who would play his heart out each game.

Simo86 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 totally agree, if you put the blue shirt on i think you should play with pride, with passion, for me the yak dont do that, he is slow, lazy, yes he is in the right place at the right time and will score goals but i would prefer someone who would play his heart out each game. Like all GOOD strikers! So you would prefer someone who runs around a lot over someone who scores goals regularly? Sven best start signing some of us fans up then!!!
Clarkielcfc Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 1 million per cent want the yak to sign a permanent deal, he brings goals goals goals, and that is what we need, i couldnt care less if he dont run around chasing across the backline, he causes problems with and without the ball, he creates goals for others with his movement and power, we need yakubu next season, definatly will bag us 20+ goals!! sign him up!! x

Why didn't Everton recall him last season when practically all their strikers were injured? Why did Swansea and Norwich opt for Graham and Morison instead of him? I don't worry what people think........................They don't do it very often...............
The Padster Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 I can't believe people are still putting up the 'he will score goals but wont kiss the badge so I don't want him' argument. I'm working on a theory that these people were starved of oxygen at birth.
Lcfclee Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 1 final say from me when I played FIFA last night Andy Gray said yak is not a striker who will chase the ball BUT he goes in to each game with the mind set that he will score today and that he will stay up and around the goal untill it happens. annoying ? Maybe . Quality ? Definatley case closed inspector monty has cracked another case now for the case of why spend 5 million on ade akinBADBUY
Brainy Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 "All but a done deal, just personal terms to agree?" Aren't his personal terms possibly the biggest threat for this deal not to go through?
Corky Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 totally agree, if you put the blue shirt on i think you should play with pride, with passion, for me the yak dont do that, he is slow, lazy, yes he is in the right place at the right time and will score goals but i would prefer someone who would play his heart out each game. And you'll be happy to sit in mid-table then.

Ric Flair Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 £15,000 a week basic, £10,000 a goal and a 50% wage increase upon promotion. Not an issue.
StevieLCFC Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 As long as he scores goals, I couldn't care less if he plays with passion.
80footgiraffe Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 £15,000 a week basic, £10,000 a goal and a 50% wage increase upon promotion. Not an issue. bloody good of sven to chalk it down that much! Wonder when he'll be officially signed.
artursteppe Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 £15,000 a week basic, £10,000 a goal and a 50% wage increase upon promotion. Not an issue. That's the way, or even £20k per week + £0.5m bonus for promotion and £30k per week in first season in the Prem. Either way he would score goals and run around. ( I think in a full season, with the right players around him he would be nailed on for over 25 goals in league matches ).
