Simo86 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 bloody good of sven to chalk it down that much! Wonder when he'll be officially signed. That isn't what's actually been offered. That just what he thinks we should offer him
80footgiraffe Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 That isn't what's actually been offered. That just what he thinks we should offer him oh! sorry, I agree anyway
Aidy3 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 People are saying we shouldn't get him we should get someone who plays with pride and runs around yes. my answer to this is Iain Hume. Oh wait look at his goalscoring record! I'd prefer goals than work effort. Goals or Effort? my choice is goals. Sign Yakubu!
MrSpaM Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Where did you here that pal? Well don't take it as gospel, but theirs a fair few tweets going up about it right now from press people
Simo86 Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Well don't take it as gospel, but theirs a fair few tweets going up about it right now from press people Oh right cheers Fingers crossed!!
Webbo Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Thanks £15,000 a week basic, £10,000 a goal and a 50% wage increase upon promotion. Not an issue. If you're negotiating the deal then great, I think his agent might have something to say about that though.

Babylon Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 Yakubu is a fantastic signing if you can get the right team around him. All this nonsense about him not doing it against top teams. Well Morison scored 3 goals against the top 6 last season, but he played against them all twice, Yakubu didn't. And he just went to a premier league team. Morison scored 17 goals in 43 appearances in total last term....Yakubu scored 11 in 20.
accessory Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 And you'll be happy to sit in mid-table then. ....as opposed to where Yakubu took us last season?
Ric Flair Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 How reliable are these sources? Usually Tanner and Stringer would be all over this too? Really hope this is ON, it'll make us attract a lot of other quality players. Has Sven even been on holiday yet? He doesn't seem to be resting up, LAD

Babylon Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 ....as opposed to where Yakubu took us last season? So he scored 11 in 20 and it's his fault? I know you're not REALLY saying that. How reliable are these sources? Usually Tanner and Stringer would be all over this too? Really hope this is ON, it'll make us attract a lot of other quality players. Probably sick and tired of all the "not rights" moaning at them when they anything.

I for one am glad that they'll now keep schtum, and yesterday's exercise of pish taking will be the end of trying to interpret riddles or simply Ian who claims to be a journalist forgetting how to use words to heighten, lower, or maintain expectations.

Morison scored 17 goals in 43 appearances in total last term....Yakubu scored 11 in 20. That was Morison's first season in the Championship in an average side. Considering the fitness issues he had as well, it was a good return - obviously enough to impress Paul Lambert. Yakubu was found out too often against the better-quality defences in this league (Reading, Forest etc). I fear Sven may have been sweet-talked by agents into doing a deal that will bring neither him or us any favours..

Any proven player dropping down a division has a few question marks hanging over him, likewise any unproven player stepping up a level has question marks. However, Yakubu scored 11 goals in 19 starts, made 7 other goals and suffered no injuries during his stint. It's enough to take the gamble, without question.

Babylon Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 That was Morison's first season in the Championship in an average side. Considering the fitness issues he had as well, it was a good return Well considering Yakubu is apparently shit 11 in 20 is a good return. Morison isn't exactly a spring chicken still learning the game, he's a year younger than Yakubu. obviously enough to impress Paul Lambert. And Yakubu did enough to impress Sven. Yakubu was found out too often against the better-quality defences in this league (Reading, Forest etc). He played against the top six 5 times.... is that really enough to say he was found out? Our whole team was gubbins against the teams near the top most of the time. I fear Sven may have been sweet-talked by agents into doing a deal that will bring neither him or us any favours.. I'd imagine his goal scoring record did the sweet talking.
FoxTrott Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 "Re Yakubu to #lcfc - national newspapers hint done deal, not yet. #lcfc side seems sorted, just #efc to agree to the deal. Maybe next week" Stringer.

Petchy Posted 9 June 2011 Posted 9 June 2011 ''The Leicester midfield need to get feeding...'' Feed the Yak and he will score?! That's the obvious answer that screams out to me.
