cc_star Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Be disappointed if we don't get him & damn right pissed off if he joins a rival The rest of our forwards added together won't score as many as the Yak will next season
The Doctor Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 This thread appears to have de-railed slightly. And can people not count: #996 - 6 posts to 1,000. #997 - 5

CKB Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Yak to sign Then it's Yak not to sign Then back to Yak is to sign Then not to sign Doesn't wanna drop down to the NPC Going Turkey Yak deal back on Yak deal off Now signing for West Ham Ahhhh you have to love the transfer window!
okie fox Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 I just hope to god that this is true. Alan young I'm sorry pal but The Yak scores goals to be honest I couldn't give a shit if he runs the channels or not..... Do you really think that an expensive striker, who scores goals but does not run the channels and does not defend from the front, is going to win us automatic promotion? Alan Young does know a thing or two about strikers! There are games, especially tough away games, when the Yak is a total passenger. The key words in the article in the Liverpool paper is that the Yak needs a lot of support (after his serious achilles injury).. The current Leicester team is not dominant enough to provide him with lots of support in tough games.
Jay Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 it appears The Yak is nothing more than a greedy bastard and would have gone to the club with the most Cash to offer. In some regards you can't blame him in others you just think greedy mercenary bastard. Seems West Ham haven't learned anything from getting themselves into the shit finanically before hope they fall flat on their arses. because to be honest even coming down from the PL was not really a major shock they have been the worst team in the league for a good few years now
Simmsy Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Why are people slagging him off as if he has already joined West Ham? Just wait to see what happens.
Nick Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Why are people slagging him off as if he has already joined West Ham? Just wait to see what happens. Agreed, looking at these recent articles his agent appears a little concerned. All these biographical stylised articles stating his emotional attachment and his amazing club records and transfer fees and the fact he is 28 coming out in the media........ somebody is doing their best to get the best deal possible for their client. It must be quite difficult trying to big up your client and hold your nerve that teams will wait to organise their strike force and not look elsewhere whilst you stick to your guns on agents fees and wage demands.
12connor34 Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 The Yak is not in Evertons plans next season!! He's gonna get released by them!! Hopefully Sven will sign him!! Link

I think if his agent keeps 'fannying' about much longer it could lead to his client missing out on a good opportunity to join an ambitious club with a world class manager for the sake of a few extra pennies for himself. I think if we signed Maynard (I hope so a he's one of my favorite strikers at this level) it would be the end of the Yakubu 'saga' because of price and the fact that Maynard would be considered our goal scorer.

Yeah I agree - though prepare for more ranting and raving as I don't believe we will get any closure on this for at least a week or two.

This will probably drag on until the final day of the transfer window. Unless we sign Nugent, Derbyshire and Maynard. In which case another striker wouldn't be necessary and the money would be better spent elsewhere.
Callabinho Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Agree with the above. This will drag untill the window closes.
The Doctor Posted 18 June 2011 Posted 18 June 2011 Huh? Post 996 would be 5 away from 1000 yes, but post 997 would be 4 away, not 5 and 996 is 5 away, not 6.
Tuna Posted 20 June 2011 Posted 20 June 2011 Can we all just forget about Greedy Yakubu and focus on players who actually want to play for the club. If he was coming, he woul have signed by now, so lets move on and forget about him.

If he was coming, he woul have signed by now, so lets move on and forget about him. Snore. How often do you think a player really wants to play for a club? 95% of the time they'll 'want' to play for the biggest club, the one that has the highest chance of success or the club that gives them the most money. And if it seems they do 'want' to play for us why do you think that will be? Is it 'cause we're Leicester and we're massive? Or is it because we have more money to offer than most in the division, one of the most successful managers of his generation and are one of the favourites to go up? Nobody 'wants' to play for us any more than any other club that'll offer them the same amount of dough.

I wonder if the people slating him for not wanting to join us are the same ones who slagged him off whilst he was here and booed him onto the pitch the time he started on the bench???
