hackneyfox Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Opinion or statement of fact from someone inside the club?
Guest MattP Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Snore. How often do you think a player really wants to play for a club? 95% of the time they'll 'want' to play for the biggest club, the one that has the highest chance of success or the club that gives them the most money. Exactly, its business at the end of the day. Thats why I cringe whenever I hear people telling me "he loves it here" "he has fell in love with the club etc" - its bollocks, Yakubu is just like the rest, he wants to play you until another club offers a penny more then he wants to play for them, the agents are the ones to blame, they fill the heads with it as they can line their own pockets.

I still think fair play to the players, I'd do exactly the same. BUT I think fans get confused about 'wanting' to play for the club. When a player signs for a new club it will NEVER be because he 'wants' to play for them. When a player SIGNS A NEW CONTRACT it is a different story. They may now have some sort of emotional involvement for the team. It won't happen for everyone, I'm sure plenty of players just see it as a job but with others their club will grow on them. With all these new signings it is literally pointless discussing whether they 'want' to play for us or not.
Tommy G Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 Guessing he isn't coming now were spuffing money at Brizzle for Maynard

Yes, that just about sums it up.
Bob.For.The.Win. Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I kind of just want him to go to West Ham so I can shout hate chants at him next season...
sphericalfox Posted 21 June 2011 Posted 21 June 2011 I kind of just want him to go to West Ham so I can shout hate chants at him next season... He'll only score goals if you chant at him. He'll put a hat trick away when riled.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 Ok got some info 3 Championship clubs have enquired about him and 1 prem club only Leicester have had a bid excepted for him Yakubu was offerd a take it or leave it contract they wont higher it because he might come back to it.

So the Yak is back on the radar then? In all honesty if we fail to get Maynard, then just spend the money on Yak he HAS proven he can do it in the top flight, I'm still convinced he will join.....eventually

John Matrix Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 i love the players careers are short excuse. yeah having a job from 16 to 35 is a short career and a payoff from the football leauge when you retire. i think most people would be happy with that sort of job security.
Callabinho Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 Sven has been putting bid in in case yak dont sign he is still undecided. His agent is manipulating him I know that much, I think he will come back, we just need a strike partner for him, but not £3 million for CMS.
Ric Flair Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 I'd pretty much do anything for Yakubu to sign for us and for me to stop this endless routine of checking foxestalk, bentleysroof, twitter, talkingballs and skysports.com/football every few minutes. I'm pissing myself off.

sphericalfox Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 I am only posting on Yaks' thread in a bid to keep it in the lead in number of pages. With CMS, Maynard & Schmeichel in their mid-forties page-wise, it looks like things might be neck and neck by the end of the weekend. I thought Yak would bulldoze the other threads into submission by this stage but, sadly it has wavered, in a lethargic manner, and I am hoping by drawing attention to his thread that he might gallop on to pages, and pages of further mystery and intriguing speculation.
Libertine Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 I thought Yak would bulldoze the other threads into submission by this stage but, sadly it has wavered, in a lethargic manner Well, naturally. It goes in spurts, just like Yak.
JJS84 Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 Talk sport just announced that the yak got a pay rise while he played at city last season. And the thai's have got serious dosh to blow. Did say their source but they trust him and get alot of updates from him.

mickydeeeuk Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 Talk sport also said that they heard (Adrian Durham & Darren gough) that they have on good authority that city signing someone on 'astonishing' wages! I assumed CMS with durhams posh connections? Also that idiot Macca on talk sport reckons we wont do any good and was dissing our signings whilst intimating sven & top are basically mugs! To quote ' a fool & his money are easily parted' .... What a nob! ... Obviously one of WORLD footballs top managers & some of asias top business men clearly know less about football & finance than bloody talk sports Macca! >fuming<
Mark_w Posted 23 June 2011 Posted 23 June 2011 And they don't know anything about Leicester, Talk Sport announced we've signed Ricardo on a free a few days ago (Literally)
