Callabinho Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 @callabinho Cov need to replace king and Westwood..LCFC shud do ok tho. Nothing like getting an exciting striker to get things going Manich just tweeted me this, not that it means anything but could do!
Liamlcfc1 Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 HayleyGa11agher HAYLEY GALLAGHERHeard some great lcfc transfer news yesterday - which I cannot mention yet -but hope it happens :-)
The Doctor Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 has the yak ever actually came out and said he doesn't want to play in the championship as people seem to think?
thybluefox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Westwood? Supposed to be mates after all. Aye the Gallys/Westys are very good friends - can't see who else she'd be tweeting about like that thats currently in the frame for a move here? If it is him, it could make our first game interesting! Back to the Yak though...
thybluefox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 has the yak ever actually came out and said he doesn't want to play in the championship as people seem to think? No, basically. Its all been media speculation. Coming maybe from his agent, or more likely its just newspapers creating stories because any deal is taking a long time.

If it is him, it could make our first game interesting! Back to the Yak though... as babylon has said in a different thread it could be one of the loanees from last season. I'd think it's either one of them or westwood though - i doubt the players are privy to any transfer negotiations so they'd find out through players involved if they found out about a potential transfer during this part of the pre-season while they're still on holiday.
Babylon Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 He'll qualify for his free bus pass soon, he's probably waiting for that to come through before he comes down here and signs.
sphericalfox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 I don't know which to use for Yakubu's return: Return of the (Yak) Mack or Welcome, Home http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnjEPMYr6Pw
wattolcfc Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Has Matt Derbyshire written all over it, Gally was best mates with him and so were their wifes. Think Gally was even best man.. could be wrong though!
80footgiraffe Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Errm I just heard the deal is back on. I heard Yakety Yak Yak has agreed personal terms sub 30k per week with a six figure bonus should we make the Prem. All this talk of Maynard must have made him re-visit the table. I won't reveal my source but it was intimated to me end of next week it will be wrapped up. That's all folks, now go tear this apart.......... sort of hope this is true, I trust Nick, buy am a bit annoyed this may mean no Maynard. But, if we are signing him by the end of the week...im very happy.
Lcfclee Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 So does any 1 actually know if hes coming back the guy is quality we need this to happen Nandos is going bust with out his custom BERT HELP US :sweden:
MikeyT Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Yak for 3 million > Maynard for 5. That's a big chunk gone, then we still need a keeper, 2 rb's, a centre half and possibly some in midfield too.
Narborough_fox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 That's a big chunk gone, then we still need a keeper, 2 rb's, a centre half and possibly some in midfield too. Did I get it wrong way, emabarassing that I dont know which is More than or Less than and I'm in top set for maths. Either way es I know it's a lot of money but I'm sure Sven knows what he's doing bidding 3 million (?) for him and it's obviously keeping in track with the budget.
DanTheFox07 Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 apologies if this has already been posted, but I agree with Alan young here! don`t think Yakubu is must buy :- http://www.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/David-Nugent-good-buy-ndash-say-good-bye-Yakubu/story-12789824-detail/story.html
21st Century Fox Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Its a really tough balancing act, we don't want to smash our wage structure but if we didn't get him and he goes somewhere like West Ham we might regret it.
Aorton6 Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 By the looks of it, im about the only person who couldnt give two titties if Yakubu signed or not. Too lazy for my liking, and once offered a permanent contract, he's only gonna get worse. Prefer fresh enthusiastic legs.. Nugent, Maynard, Derbyshire.. or even Waghorn!
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Its a really tough balancing act, we don't want to smash our wage structure but if we didn't get him and he goes somewhere like West Ham we might regret it. You can say this about lots of players.... If we don't get them they might go somewhere else. So this is completely arbitrary and not relevant IMO. What IS relevant is to ask the question of 'would he be good for our club'? For me, the answer of course is yes, if his intentions were to come to city because he wanted the challenge of helping us to get back into the prem.. We can't know his intentions of course, as many people have made it clear on this thread. However, i think that Alan young is correct to voice his concerns on this subject. I hope that yak joins us and is happy to play in the role that Sven wants him in. However, it won't be a major blow if he doesn't come to city. If not, then I'm sure Sven will bring in strikers who can do a good job for us.

Most players aren't likely to score 20+ goals a season and hand an advantage to an already fairly strong team that may walk this league with his help. Fairly relevant I'd say as he's linked with us and West Ham.

Tuna Posted 17 June 2011 Posted 17 June 2011 Alan Young has more shit coming out of his mouth than Biff Tannen. My god, that has to be one of the funniest things I have ever read!

You said that getting Yak for 3 million would be 'greater than' / better than paying 5 for Maynard
