Donut Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Well, ive never seen a poor bookmaker, so lets hope this is a sign of good things to come!
ScouseFox Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 That's got nobody in the POs or anyone coming down in it though, so logically we'd be right up there if you take out most teams above us...
Donut Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Feel like putting a £100 bet on Donny. I was actually tipping Donny for a playoff place at the start of the season. With a fit squad next season i think they could go well.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Southampton second favourites is interesting. Though if someone like West Ham go down I expect they will be favourites.
purpleronnie Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 You'd have to be an idiot to bet us to win the league.
FuriousFox46 Posted 6 May 2011 Author Posted 6 May 2011 You'd have to be an idiot to bet us to win the league. You'd have to be an idiot to rule anyone out 3 months before the league even starts.
Salieri Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Not just favourites, but clear favourites. Can only end in tears.
Donut Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Southampton second favourites is interesting. Though if someone like West Ham go down I expect they will be favourites. No doubt they'd be heavily backed but i honestly see West Ham being weak next season if they went down. I think Wolves would be a lot stronger if they got relegated. Southampton could be next seasons Norwich. Brighton play some cracking football too
cc_star Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Odds change depending on money being wagered... Because of Sven's stature I'd expect more bets to be placed on Leicester But other than that, yes I agree, bookies aren't poor. But Wolves & WestHam would be right up there, plus they'll be 3 from Cardiff, Reading, Forest, Swansea, Leeds
zubi Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Not just favourites, but clear favourites. Can only end in tears. Shall we start the sack sven threads now?
Donut Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 To be fair, our odds will lengthen when the prem teams are added into the mix......not all the money's gonna be placed on us
Donut Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 chaventry at 33's ****in hell thats shorter than i would have expected! they are nailed on relegation for me
Salieri Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 If I don't place any money on us going up, we'll be absolutely fine.
One Arm Babba Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 ofcourse we're gonna be one of the favorites. People know that we gave a 10 game head start and in Sven we have a proven manager. We will do 100 pts next year.... by christmas (checks if thats possible.... its not.... another drink,,,,meh!!) Leicester Champions and Derby, Forest and Cov relegated..... If Carlsberg sponsored the championship
MPH Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 so they have brighton in on 16-1 and donny at 100-1 hmm.. something wrong there
the_foxes_till_i_die Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Sky bet just making shit up already, i expect no1 has put money on it yet. not until prem teams are relegated and play offs are done! to be fair i'd want more than 6's for us!
Guy Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 The Championship title race is wide open next season IMO but we must certainly be in the top 5 of favourites. That is the popular belief amongst neutral people who I've spoken to about it. This season it was never in doubt after about October with QPR and their workmanlike performances and Warnock's sometimes controversial management tactics - which all ensured they were untroubled in the main. Norwich were obviously the surprise package and a bit like us last season after our previous League One success, they were THE team with the momentum. Southampton could be the next team in that mould and also watch out for Brighton along with their new stadium too. As for our nearest and dearest, Cardiff will be on a downer next season if they fail in the play offs again, I can't see Dave Jones sticking around for a "third time lucky" attempt at promotion next time around. Will Forest do the same again though? - hopefully! Burnley, Leeds, Hull, etc will all probably be similarly placed next season as they were this. "Teams coming down" is still in the balance of course but I agree with the poster who said that the less fashionable clubs like Wigan or Blackpool will probably do better than the likes of West Ham were they all to be relegated together. Wolves would have to be considered as strong team also if they kept their team together. The race won't be boring though like it tends to be in the Premiership - is it ever in the Championship?!
davieG Posted 7 May 2011 Posted 7 May 2011 Weren't we among the favourites under Mandaric and then got relegated?
