Weren't we among the favourites under Mandaric and then got relegated?

I think you're right dave.. And I say again, how the hell can anybody know who is going to be favourite or how we are going to do? We don't even know what the squads gonna look like yet... It's far far too early to be making any predictions like these

Yes, M'Boro' had the "title favourites curse" at the beginning of this season and look what happened to them! I think they'll do better next season though than they did this when Strachan lead them down the garden path a bit before Mowbray came in and improved things. The teams who got relegated from the Prem. last season haven't exactly been pulling up trees this season though - Hull, Burnley and Pompey ! However the teams coming down this season will be far stronger than last I fear.

I think Wolves will go straight up next season if they get relegated ,they have played some good football this season and have been a bit unlucky in a few games.in fact of the relegation candidates in the premiership if any one team was to survive I would say it would be Wolves.

Well I'm not surprised to be honest, we have the finances, we just need a successful pre-season and we need to make some decent signings

They're the 3 teams that game down!? I honestly forgot, all-in-all they've been poor this season, all 3 went through good spells but overall were below par. Pompey will never be the same again with the shambles that that club is in, it's a downward spiral for them I think, unless they get a good kick up the back side, investment and manage 7 bleedin' subs week-in week-out!

I was also thinking the same thing about McBoro, most pundits had them down to be up there, and look where that got them. I do think we are capable of doing it next season, providing the owners do give us the backing we're "supposedly" getting. I for one cannot wait to see Sven work his magic over the coming months, Leicester City fans have a lot to look forward to I believe.

More unnecessary pressure and based on no logic that I can understand except perhaps the perception that we'll have more money to spend than some. We've been here before of course with City having been quoted as one of the promotion favourites many times and even the year they got relegated from what I recall. We finished 10th with today's team and even acknowledging our shit start and shit finish that's about what we deserved.

We'll undergo another almost "all-change" now with half of our squad regulars likely to be replaced..

Everything hinges not just on how good the next batch of incomers will be but on how well we blend them into a reasonably settled team.

At least there should be no excuse this time. It looks as if we'll have a proper pre-season, some properly testing matches and every chance to work on the finer details as well as making sure we emerge fully fit and ready to compete on day one of the new season. But there are liikely to be some tough teams making similar preparations and just a glance at the 2011-12 league table suggests to me it will be an extremely tight and combative contest.

ive never seen a poor bookie untill today fc betz paying out in pound coins and turning away any one who won over 30 pounds

Although it's kinda nice that others think we'll do well I think I'd rather we weren't favourites to be honest, because aside from the pressure which could be detrimental, it also means fans who are easily swayed will be even more confident, and you can guarantee that if we don't do as well as we're hoping next season, there's going to be an absolute shitload of moaners.

Unless we're top 2 early on you can guarantee there will be idiots calling for svens head

Ill retract my comment about having never seen a poor bookmaker because i have indeed seen one now.

FC Betz.

You'd have to be an idiot to rule anyone out 3 months before the league even starts.

Thats why you wouldn't bet them then. Too much can happen, especially being favourites.

whoosh.

Frederic Piquionne would destroy this league,

Demba Ba would destroy this league,

Thomas Hitzlsperger would destroy this league,

Jabba the hutGrant would be Manager of the season.

Not to mention the likes of Parker, Noble, Spector and so on.............

Wow!

It's more widespread than I thought after more bookies have added their odds,

Leicester are now sole favourites to win the league with Bet365, Paddy Power, Blue Square and Bet888 and joint favourites with SkyBet, Victor Chandle, Bodog and William Hill.

Outstanding faith in us next season. I hope they're right unlike last time. Come on!!!

I remember when we're favourites to be Champions whilst Holloway was in charge and but were relegated. Nothing to be optimistic about yet....

So we were favourites when Holloway came in, when we were 15th in the league, and in November?

The only time I can remember us being favourites was in 2004/05.
