Conscript Fox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 If a Champoinship side could afford him, or so it says here anyway http://football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_6947452,00.html Whats the feeling toward him at Leicester?
ajthefox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Had no idea he was at West Ham and to be honest I'm not a massive fan, I get the feeling all he wants is a pay-check. Having said that, he should bang 'em in at this level, so I'd be more than happy to see him at the Walkers.

I think he could get the paycheck at Spurs for not doing much in return if thats all he wants, he has a year left there. Still, a fading player of late without doubt, but still good enough to have all kinds of fun at this level maybe.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Couldn't see him dropping down a division, but if he did i reckon a Keane-Yak partnership would be quality.
StevieLCFC Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Might be quite controversial, but I reckon he's well passed it now. Watched him in a fair few games for West Ham this season and looked as though he couldn't hit a barn door. So many quality chances, but fluffed it at the last second. Would MUCH prefer we spent money on up and coming stars than washed up players like Keane.
Sly Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 I always thought he was over rates and never understood his move to Inter. Which is most likely the reason it was short lived. Certain players have good physical attributes, that degenerate through injuries or age. For me, Robbie Keane falls into that bracket.
sdb Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Overrated and bloddy annoying, he'd be tidy at this level tho. Pretty sure he supported us as a boy too.
Simmo86 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Overrated and bloddy annoying, he'd be tidy at this level tho. Pretty sure he supported us as a boy too. Thought it was Liverpool

teblin Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Can't believe people being negative. Would be an awesome signing. Can't see it happening though. Remember it's not all that long ago that we had Carl cort up top for us.

Remember it's not all that long ago that we had Carl cort up top for us. It's also not that long ago that we had Yakubu. I'd rather have Yakubu than Keane. It's just personal preference, I don't rate the bloke that highly.

One Arm Babba Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He is well past his peak. The wages he would be looking for would be a complete waste and would be better invested in younger players.
Greg2607 Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 If it was a toss up between the yak and keane, i'd take the yak everytime. At least we know he has been successful at this level. Keane seems to have lost his spark over recent seasons. Keane is a quality player, and if we didn't have the choice of the yak then i'd take Keane if the money was right.

Yeah, totally agree with that.
Kingylcfc Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 his idea of helping the youngsters and playing in the premier league in the next couple of years would almost be perfect for leicester......sign him up if we can afford his wages which i reckon we can
Jimbo Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 at people comments saying he's over rated & past it. Over rated? no Past it? maybe. Hardly had the greatest last few years
Filbert_Ross Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 didnt he turn down Birmingham in January due to him not being happy with the wages offered and claiming they were only approaching him as a 'publicity stunt'? pfft
Guest Basildon Fox Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Has not been the same player since the dream move to Liverpool turned sour. He looks disinterested and slow whenever I have seen him lately. Far better options out there hopefully.
Hack Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 Over rated? no Past it? maybe. Hardly had the greatest last few years You people are either very young and ignorant or just have no idea. Firstly we are in the Chapionship not playing in the Chamions League. Rob Keane would be one of the top strikers in our league if we or any club would get him. Of couse he is not at his peak , otherwise he would be playing for a team playing in Europe, who knows he still may. Sometimes it is hrad to get people to be real about where we are and who we canv get and what it is that they can offer. Just to have conversations about Heskey, Keane Yak etc is unbelievable for a team like LCFC. The fact that many of you have no appreciation of that and the quality that these players, yes in their latter years can bring says more about you and your sence of reality. He would be welcome and a star for us he in the very remote chance he comes.
MikeyT Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 As a championship team chasing promotion i'd certainly take him. I think he'd be great in this league. He would have to take a significantly lower wage though.
Christoph Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 He played pretty shit for West Ham and he had the chances to score many times so not sure imo
Bert Posted 24 May 2011 Posted 24 May 2011 A big thing that people are missing about the yak is that he WANTS to play for US.
