Lester LXXIV Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Anyone else wonder if we're a ok to do £4-5 million on Matt Mills then surely we can afford Naughton? My only assumption is, he wouldn't want to come here permanently or Sven thinks Peltier is better value for money. I'm just surprised at the hinderence in signing Kyle and Yakubu but then we're bullying Reading and Bristol City for Mills and Maynard for similar figures. I'm interested to find out if the Mills fee was a one off or if the owners are willing to make several multi-million pound purchases??
FoxesFan123 Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Maybe we paid the £5mill for Mills after frustration with the CMS deal and Maynard bid rejected.

Guest shearfox Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Maybe we paid the £5mill for Mills after frustration with the CMS deal and Maynard bid rejected. Mills is a defender we have been after for a while and Sven had him as one of his prime targets. I'm sure this would have happened even if we got CMS or Maynard

I wish we go into bidding for him again, surely he knows we will go up (hopefully) and he is a good defender/attacker so why not go into bidding. Or if we cant sign him then loan him for the season and then when he is in a winning team and gets promoted then we will have better chance in getting him
Jon the Hat Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 Are right backs really influential enough to spend that kind of money on? It makes sense in the backbone of the team.
thybluefox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Honestly just don't think Sven rates him at 5million, I don't.
RyanB89 Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Honestly just don't think Sven rates him at 5million, I don't. But he rates mills at £5m!? i think he may be losing his mind
psychonaut Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 But he rates mills at £5m!? i think he may be losing his mind Centre half is a more influential position. So in relation to naughton's position, no i dont think he rates him at £5 mill. Thats not to say he isnt as good as Mills

Thats not to say he isnt as good as Mills I think Sven believes Peltier is better value. A combination of these two reasons I think. Would still love to see Naughton back but I highly doubt it will happen, it never looked likely anyway, and that was before we bought a right back and spent 5 mil on a centre half.

Naughton rightfully believes he will play for Premier league team and Peltier is ours at significantly more value. The cost saved by buying Peltier and not Naughton, got us Mills.
Lcfclee Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Naughton set to sign for qpr on loan for season according to fourth official :'-(
dannythefox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 Would of been surprised if he had being playing in the championship next season.

sdb Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 The Maynard thread is closed (and I for one am not complaining), but he's spoken to the BCFC website. Be interested to hear what people think. He doesn't really commit to them, or at least that's my reading of it.

Shame about Naughton but he deserves a crack at the PL even if it is with Colin.
Guest shearfox Posted 13 July 2011 Posted 13 July 2011 At least when we sign him next year, he would have had a years experience in the prem....
I am Rod Hull Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 Good luck to him.. Norwich have done well getting him in..
dannythefox Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 The lads good enough for the prem so all the best to him.
Leicester_Loyal Posted 21 July 2011 Posted 21 July 2011 He deserves a shot at the prem, great player. Just hope we can sign him next year (If we get promoted)
