hackneyfox Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 14 released in total EDIT: But they're not really being released, just sold.
SMX11 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 I hardly believe that they would release someone of Kyle's quality on a free.
StanSP Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 The manager is prepared to sell the goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes and either Roman Pavlyuchenko or Jermain Defoe, and a host of fringe players. They are Ben Alnwick, Alan Hutton, Kyle Naughton, Sébastien Bassong, David Bentley, Jermaine Jenas, Wilson Palacios, Niko Kranjcar, Jamie O'Hara, Giovani dos Santos and Robbie Keane http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/may/24/harry-redknapp-tottenham-hotspur-clearout I did hear the other day that Birmingham would get rid of Foster, he'd go to Tottenham, and Birmingham would get Westwood, which is probably why we've now been linked with Kasper.
Haydos Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 'Listen to offers'. This isn't even news. He'll still end up at a prem club.
Adster Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Looks at what's just been posted on BBC: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13538953.stm Leicester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson fears that Tottenham may price right-back Kyle Naughton out of their range.Naughton, 22, made a big impact during an eight-month loan spell at the Walkers Stadium last season - and Eriksson is keen to sign the defender. Eriksson told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's possible to take Kyle but he is extremely expensive. "The club wants too much money for a defender but of course, he is a great football player. We'll see." Naughton, who joined the Foxes in November, has made 36 appearances, scoring five goals.
Ricey Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Wouldn't surprise me if Sven went for a few of those other players as well. I still think Naughton will go to QPR, can't blame him really.
Haydos Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 £4-5 mil they want. That seems a bit hefty for a player who hasn't proven anything in the Prem. Granted he was in the Champ team of the year so maybe it's not far off. I wouldn't go higher than 4m but there are plenty of Prem teams he could pick above us.
StanSP Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 I'm split on whether we should try and spend that much. I don't want him to turn out to be another Waghorn (play so well during loan; lacklustre during permanent). But then on the other hand, he'll be playing under a manager who he did so well for in his loan spell. I don't know if it's worth the gamble to pay so much .

To be fair to Waghorn, when he permanently joined us he was plonked out on the left wing, and since Sven has been here he's barely had a start, no more than 5 or 6 from memory. When he played up front against Scunthorpe at home he was awesome. Naughton if he comes will be just as good as he was thus season.
hackneyfox Posted 25 May 2011 Author Posted 25 May 2011 sell 14 players you nob not release **** you, I made a mistake.
Ricey Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 £4-5 mil they want. I'd pay that, especially if the owners have set a limitless budget.

ROS5 Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 Just seen on bbc sport, that he might be too expensive for us so i rekon another season long loan n then snap him up if we get promoted !!

Merging Cultures Posted 25 May 2011 Posted 25 May 2011 like we may get priced out or maybe it's a ploy to make it look like we haven't got money falling out of our arses? I think Sven is being very smart, but it is true that we don't have limitless cash...
