Lee Hoos

To be fair to Stringer, how can anyone say this isn't massive news. The CEO is probably the most important person at the club after the manager.

Wouldn't mind Tim Davies back as he always saw the side of the fans but would happily take someone who can orchestrate the finaces of the club, sign the big deals and not leave us in administration in two years time if we don't go up / go up and get relegated please. I'd almost rather see the cheque book open on the wages of someone who can really lead the club forward at the expense of one super expensive player (assuming we still make some other decent signings on top).

Chief executive Lee Hoos is believed to have left Leicester City after three years in the position.

City are saying nothing officially, but the Leicester Mercury understands that Hoos has departed from the Walkers Stadium.

In addition, it has been reported that City's chief finance officer Mark Johnson has left the club.

Their as yet-unconfirmed departures come just three weeks after commercial director Paul Hunt took up a new role at Premier League Blackburn Rovers.

Hoos, who joined City in 2008, had been helping the club's new Thai owners develop a greater understanding of the running of a football club in England.

In recent months, the Asia Football Investments consortium, which bought City from ex-chairman Milan Mandaric, has been playing an increasingly active role in the day-to-day running of the club.

Former manager Paulo Sousa was sacked by Mandaric just weeks after the takeover by the King Power group, which controls the consortium.

Hoos was involved in negotiations in London to bring former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson to the club last October as Sousa's successor.

He has been at the helm at the Walkers Stadium during another period of shifting fortunes for a club, which has a turbulent history.

Hoos has also held the chief executive's position at Southampton.

He has been at City just a few weeks short of three years, replacing Paul Aldridge in June 2008.

He was instrumental in bringing former Middlesbrough and Sheffield Wednesday defender Nigel Pearson to the Walkers Stadium as manager.

They worked together briefly at St Mary's and it was an inspired appointment as Pearson guided City back into the Championship at the first attempt.

City ended the 2009-10 season in the play-offs before succumbing to Cardiff in the semi-finals, and it was then that cracks appeared to develop in the relationship between Hoos and Pearson.

Pearson said he was surprised by City's decision to allow him to speak to Championship rivals Hull, who he eventually joined as manager.

At the time, Hoos said that he did not know the reasons for Pearson's decision to quit City and that he was surprised by the move.

The Mercury made attempts to contact Hoos last night but without success

Good riddance.

Part of the regime that oversaw the worst period in the club’s history. Reached some of the the lowest points on the field and making some staggering financial losses off it.

Didnt he join after we were relegated? so not really part of the regime...Plus he came from Soton and recommended Pearson to Milan

Who needs Hoos when you've got Sven anyway? The Swede could negotiate contracts and sort transfers in his sleep.

! he's in a court case regarding him being ripped off £10 million by giving someone access to his accounts ! leave the contracts to someone else ! lol

I do hope that Top and Co find a successor to Lee Hoos & Mark Johnson very quickly, and of course in that, that they find a decent replacement. I think this will be the most crucial signing for Leicester this summer.

Sven is fine with a list of contacts and agents at his beckoning call should he want them. What he cannot do is concentrate on the training of the team, pre-season friendlies, and also trying to negotiate the transfer price and contracts with players he has earmarked to join the club, as we all now there's going to be a whole lot of signing required to make the squad a force to be reckoned with.

I would prefer Stringer and Tanner would use some of the journalistic skills they claim to have to seek more information and publish these to enlighten us all about the plans for filling these vacancies and more importantly why they have become vacancies in the first place.

Hoos described by Lance Tomlyn as "the last of the old guard" in the Mercury today. lol lol lol lol lol

It was an emotional departure.

Stringer's twitter:

"BBC Radio Leicester will have some #lcfc news off the pitch in the morning. 104.9fm from 7am or www.bbc.co.uk/leicester click listen live"

Guess they will announce Hoos going to replace Hoos? :dunno:
