Callabinho Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Do u reckon he would choose southampton or west ham over us i dont this is why we are bigger than southampton and can probz offer better wages and at west ham he is not guranteed 1st team every week he is more or less here guranteed tht he can walk into are starting 11 He could walk into all three starting 11, Southampton are also a huge club they have spent a bit longer in the third tier than they wanted but are still very capable of pulling their own weight in the market. From the sale of AOC they can more than match our bid, for us to win the race it could mean parting from up to £7 million and £25k a week.
Simmo86 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 If we get Robbie Keane and Anichebe I couldn't give a shit if Maynard goes to Southampton Would prefer Robbie Keane and Maynard here instead of Anichebe
Stevosevic Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 This place will go into bloody meltdown. If we got Keane and missed out on Maynard I could live with that, but I fear we'll miss out on both. I thought Sven had already dismissed Anichebe according to the Mercury? Same. I can see us focusing completely on RK, but i can't see him wanting to come here, then Soton will steal in for NM.
Happy Fox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Would prefer Robbie Keane and Maynard here instead of Anichebe Were unlikely to get both of them it will be one or the other, so likely to be Keane and Anichebe
Joe. Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Eriksson dismissed reports linking him to strikers Matt Derbyshire and Everton's Victor Anichebe yesterday, but said he was still working on targets.
DorsetFox9 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if we got Robbie Keane, i wouldn't be soo pissed off. although, all this talk is probably about BIDS, not personal terms, don't you think the minute they have a bid accepted Bristol will broadcast it to the ****ing world? course they will, they will want a bidding war, and imo they would rather him come here, as Soton are maybe closer to Bristols expectations, although they are a dark horse.
bluearmyfox23 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Im starting to get worried sven just cough up the cash and get maynard !!!
Happy Fox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Im starting to get worried sven just cough up the cash and get maynard !!! Maynard is overrated he is not worth 6m that Southampton are willing to seemingly part,
bluearmyfox23 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Maynard is overrated he is not worth 7m that Southampton are willing to seemingly part, is tht how much they are paying ?
Happy Fox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 is tht how much they are paying ? 6m supposedly and 20-25,000 in wages
bluearmyfox23 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 6m supposedly and 20-25,000 in wages we can pay tht !!
DorsetFox9 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 6m supposedly and 20-25,000 in wages if that's the case, we had £7-8m on table for Long, then i cant understand it if we dont bid for him.
Happy Fox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if that's the case, we had £7-8m on table for Long, then i cant understand it if we dont bid for him. Possibly because we have moved on now and we have other targets i.e Keane and Anichebe
m00nie Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if his goals helped get us to the premier league then 6m is nothing.. we was apparently prepared to pay 7m for long.. if brfc said to us 6million hes yours most would have took the offer so goin to be funny to now see all the way too much replies if he does go to southampton and not us for 6m
Simmo86 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if that's the case, we had £7-8m on table for Long, then i cant understand it if we dont bid for him. Your username is going to look even shitter soon!
Babylon Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if that's the case, we had £7-8m on table for Long, then i cant understand it if we dont bid for him. Because the club has said we will not bid more than they think a player is worth.
STUHILL Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if that's the case, we had £7-8m on table for Long, then i cant understand it if we dont bid for him. because he isn't worth that and i think Sven and the Owners know that! He could go to the Saints for that and do well but they could also have a 7 million pound flop on their hands Probably too greater a risk to pay that much, whereas Long was seen as worthy or that kinda bid
Babylon Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 if his goals helped get us to the premier league then 6m is nothing I wish people would stop saying this, it is not guaranteed, we could spend £50m and not get promoted.
wakeyfox01 Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Not seen anything about them having a bid accepted though. I wouldn't worry yet, they might make a bid which may or may not be accepted, I'm sure if it is we will probably match it
Cropwellfox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Let him go there for that price, ridiculous. Spot on - although at 4s they seem a decent shout for a few quid for promotion...
kingfox Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 Southampton have money, on my preview someone did say they have lost out on a couple of good players, but will also be in the hunt for some. Maynard to Southampton is very likely to be honest and it wouldn't be a surprise. Fourth Official is only saying Anichebe because he want's him gone from his supported Everton, Robbie Keane is the one to believe but doubt were looking into Anichebe. Shame someone like Stokes and Hooper only signed for Celtic last year
m00nie Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 I wish people would stop saying this, it is not guaranteed, we could spend £50m and not get promoted. where did i say its guaranteed ??? IF his goals helped get us to the premier league then 6m is nothing
Babylon Posted 11 August 2011 Posted 11 August 2011 IF his goals helped get us to the premier league then 6m is nothing IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF IF... if I win the lottery I can pay off my mortgage, so it stands to reason I should go and and buy a great big fecking house I can't really afford without actually having won the lottery. Not the same exactly I know, but there has to be some sense involved in transfer dealings. We can't plan around premier league football if we don't have it.
