Liamlcfc1 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I've just been told that we never made any contact with him? Now that's a lie because my friend swore down he saw him at the stadium? This is all a little bizarre? i seen him at the stadium unless its a look alike
sphericalfox Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Tanner and Stringer have thrown their toys out of the pram, cos the amount of abuse they got for their over-exagerrations and miscommunications. Hence the other day the pish-take tweets. They now won't confirm anything. Good, cos we don't need 3/4 threads built upon a mistweet from one them weekly for the next 2 months!
Babylon Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 I trust Bert more than Tanner. Presuming of course that Bert still gets the info he use to. He's not really provided anything we didn't already know for quite a while. Sorry Bert, you know I love ya but I'm always skeptical about stuff.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Changed his tune now RobTannerMerc Rob Tanner@ @antleics the Nugent deal is defo on. Don't know time frame though and not many peeps at city know apparantly.
escos Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Changed his tune now To be fair he didn't say he hadn't signed, he said the people he talks to didn't know about it!
ajthefox Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Funny that. Saying who he'd spoke to didn't know of any confirmation and now making it sound as if he's "in the know"
Babylon Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 Changed his tune now I think the 140 words limit strikes again, you can read his first tweet a couple of different ways. Glad it's still on.
Babylon Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 To be fair he didn't say he hadn't signed, he said the people he talks to didn't know about it! Exactly what I said, you can read it different ways. The other tweet just highlights the other way of reading it.
Jon25747 Posted 14 June 2011 Posted 14 June 2011 http://twitter.com/#!/FourFourTom "I have it on good authority Nugent is a 100% done deal. I've only just heard the Eagles rumours myself, so I'm not sure..." Looks like its done!
Jon the Hat Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 I think we are going to see a few deals announced at once. It is not in our interests to have a big name signing announced (or even a moderately well known one) while we are trying to buy others, as it just pushes the price up. Just maybe we are working professionally behind the scenes for a change.
dpjfox Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 Surely the Nugent transfer should be confirmed today (i know the official site is slow but it will be in mockery or sky sports before them!)
Ross_Spencer Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 From @Fourth_Official: "Dave Nugent is as good as a Leicester player #LCFC"
lcfcliam Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 From @Fourth_Official: "Dave Nugent is as good as a Leicester player #LCFC" Who is this fourth official everybody keeps going on about? i know its off twitter but who or what is it and is it reliable?
dave_the_fox Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 I think its two lads who seem to have a few contacts here and there - reliable so far? i'd probably say yes (ish )
casabian Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 mercury said has had medical and expect him to become first signing of summer in the next few days
samstown92 Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 "The Mercury exclusively revealed last week that Eriksson was the front runner to land the former England international and reports suggest a deal has been struck with the 26-year-old, who is a free agent after leaving Portsmouth. Speculation that Nugent has already undergone a medical and is to be unveiled today is premature, but he is expected to complete his move soon." I hope this is true, I don't want to get disappointed.. so frustrating
Adster Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 I would be happy to see Nugent the first City signing of the summer.
Mack Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 East midlands today are reporting on this now. To be honest for me he is too much like Gallagher and what we need is a goalscorer.
Guest ttfn Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 East midlands today are reporting on this now. To be honest for me he is too much like Gallagher and what we need is a goalscorer. He's nothing like Gallagher. He's fast and good in the air for starters.
lestajigs Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 East midlands today are reporting on this now. To be honest for me he is too much like Gallagher and what we need is a goalscorer. Sven will play nugent as a striker though surely??
leicesterisme Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 East midlands today are reporting on this now. To be honest for me he is too much like Gallagher and what we need is a goalscorer. 14 Goals for a bottom half Championship team, I'd say that's a goalscorer. We also create alot of chances, alot more than Pompey would have done enabling him to score more. Solid first signing.
MikeyT Posted 15 June 2011 Posted 15 June 2011 Sven will play nugent as a striker though surely?? You would hope so.
