Maybes Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 At least that ginger bird off late kick off can now crawl out of his arse.
gazfox9 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 From a Leicester point of view I think Mclarens a brilliant appointment ha ha ha.
Father Ted Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 David Platt for another go? Joe Kinnear? Paul Hart? haha
Brown Fox Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 I may be wrong so correct me if I am please! But didn't McClaren have a few bob to spend at the previous places he managed? If the forest board weren't such a bunch a tight-arses Davies would have got them promoted so why would they get Steve McClaren so they could most likely have less money for transfers because I bet McClaren will be on a much higher salary than Davies!
shailen Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Absolute joke if i was a forest fan but tbh i couldnt care less! What he has achieved at forest with a limited budget is commendable, two consecutive play off finishes with the pile of shit they have there. Next season they will finish mid table and then the board will realise their absolute fools.
acooling08 Posted 12 June 2011 Posted 12 June 2011 Sven > McClaren If O'Neil goes to Forest, I will be crushed.
Nick Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 SSN reporting Mclaren announcement in the morning. I feel for them to be honest, I don't think Billie deserves the push and I don't think Steve Mclaren will be any good for Forest at all despite him selling himself through his foreign contacts book. I'd bet £100 on him not lasting the season.
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Can't wait to hear Steve McClaren's midlands accent.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Not sure why people think its that good a thing. It may well be disruptive,im sure forest fans thought the same about us and pearson last year. Remember though had we got sven in from the start we'd have probably walked the league!
Bert Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Can't wait to hear Steve McClaren's midlands accent. "forest is a great club ainit though ladz, you get me like"
Guest ttfn Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 McClaren is a good manager. He did a duff job with England but was repeatedly unlucky which compounded the problem to the point that we didn't qualify for euro 2008. I hope Aston Villa fans are happy now that it seems that they'll get the dour McLeish after kicking up a fuss about Schteve. Serves the feckers right.
jonthefox Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Can't wait to hear Steve McClaren's midlands accent. think abaaaaht it, think abaaaaaaaaht it.
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 "forest is a great club ainit though ladz, you get me like" Earneh, why int ya got ya boots on?
Ric Flair Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Decent appointment for Forest, I think he'll do alright. Just hope we're above them, likewise Brum and fookin West Ham.
Jon the Hat Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 McClaren will prove the doubters wrong I suspect. Lets hope we beat Forest back to the Prem. They will get there within 3 years no doubt.
Corky Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Hux, I've heard that Davies did well on a limited budget. What was his spending like at Forest?
shailen Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Mcclaren will struggle without a proper budget and an okay championship team. Davies overachieved and got sacked. Good luck to mcclaren!
shailen Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Theres now 2 ex england managers in this league, but we have the more successful one!
purpleronnie Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Theres now 2 ex england managers in this league, but we have the more successful one! mmmmm
breadandcheese Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 McClaren will prove the doubters wrong I suspect. Lets hope we beat Forest back to the Prem. They will get there within 3 years no doubt. I agree with you. I'm amazed at the ridicule directed towards McClaren and couldn't believe it when Villa fans said they didn't want him (it seems Villa fans have taken the title from Newcastle for delusions of grandeur). At club level, McClaren's record is fantastic. The England job was too soon for him, but he's gone to Holland and won FC Twente the title for the time since the 1920's. That's not some small achievement. It's a good appointment for Forest.
FoxyPV Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 A good sensible appointment (unfortunately). McClaren will do well at Forest and I think under him they'll lose their playoffs chokers tag.
Finnegan Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 A good sensible appointment (unfortunately). McClaren will do well at Forest and I think under him they'll lose their playoffs chokers tag. By coming 7th.
Simmo86 Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 If they get off to a bad start it could be curtains early doors for Schteeve, media will be on to him like a flash as will the fans I suspect. But unfortunately I think he'll do a good job. Cracking division next season! Bring it on!
RedHux Posted 13 June 2011 Posted 13 June 2011 Hux, I've heard that Davies did well on a limited budget. What was his spending like at Forest? Off the top of my head, he spent around £5-6 million in 2009 and since then he bought Raddy for about £1m or so and we paid the wages of Boyd and Konchesky (a small fortune as it turned out) in his final few months. Also, it's rumoured he turned down many a signing for reasons best known to himself. Scott Sinclair being the more high profile of the names mentioned. He seemed to want to buy only high cost experienced players (Boyd etc...)and wasn't prepared to risk much on talented youngsters being up to it. It's my humble opinion that SM is very much the best man we could realistically replace Billy with. Hopefully we'll see a bit more togetherness at the club and less endless bickering about the players not being good enough and how he's not being sufficiently backed.
