DennisNedry Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Tonight is going to be an ordeal. Opening the windows does nothing because it's warmer outside still. 30 degrees at 9pm... crazy!
purpleronnie Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I have to sleep with the fan right next to me its the only way I can keep cool enough, but I just resign myself to the fact I won't sleep well.
Wymsey Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I think some people will refrain from doing certain 'activities' for the next few days. Don't want themselves to be sticky vickies.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 Have had every door and window open in my house since 5pm and it's still 30C in the living room, upstairs will be probably another 2 degrees. Feel sorry for the dog, can't get comfortable anywhere and for some reason doesn't want to stay outside where it's more bearable. Fan is on but just blowing hot air around. Can't wait for tomorrow's return to normality
Guest seanfox778 Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 I heard that putting a cold, wet towel over your feet helps. I'll be trying this tonight.
Jattdogg Posted 1 July 2015 Posted 1 July 2015 . Here in arctic toronto area it was 15 Celsius the other day which is very cool for summer. Usually we are in the high 20s easily into the 30s. Dead heat of summer usually is 30s to high 30s but its been all over the map the last few years. Most homes here have central air so its nice and cool depending on how you like it. I keep my place at 24 celsius in the summer. If it gets high 30s i may drop it to 23. Just think of us hairy brown guys dealing with heat and swass. Not cool
BoneDog Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 I keep checking the radiators aren't on just in the hope of being able to turn the pissers off. Have had every door and window open in my house since 5pm and it's still 30C in the living room, upstairs will be probably another 2 degrees. Feel sorry for the dog, can't get comfortable anywhere and for some reason doesn't want to stay outside where it's more bearable. Fan is on but just blowing hot air around. Can't wait for tomorrow's return to normality The cold wet towel trick mentioned above is good for the dogs. I pop one on my dog for 5 minutes at night in this heat. He loves it and I reckon it cools them down a bit.
Jattdogg Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 As long as the balls are cool you wony over heat. Keep the fan going and spray misty water over the sack. Should help.
Merging Cultures Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 You are all pussies who wouldn't last a minute here in Africa. Man up and deal with it.
BoneDog Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 I firmly believe that it's hotter than Africa in my bungalow living room right now.
Merging Cultures Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 I firmly believe that it's hotter than Africa in my bungalow living room right now.I'm currently in Senegal, in is 12:18 am and 26c in Leicester Google tells me it is 22c.Lesotho is currently -2c. My wife is also complaining!!

He loves it and I reckon it cools them down a bit. Had actually tried it earlier in the evening, even put the wet towel in the freezer for 5 minutes to make it really cool. Put it on the dog's side while she was lying down for a bit but she moved. Put it over her paws and she wiggled out of it. By 2am it was 25C downstairs so I left her to it with the fan on. Also cut up some chilled cucumber and chucked it in a big bowl of water to trick her into cooling her face down - that worked well
Rob1742 Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 A cold bath works a treat. Not cold that it's difficult to get in, but cold so your body cools down and so when you get out you are wanting to get into the fart sack. Need to stay in there a while so it gives time for the body to cool. Works a treat
MikeyT Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Bloody awful. As a pale blond person in the sun and humidity I feel like I'm melting constantly. Bring back the snow!
SpacedX Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Feels hotter and closer than Bangkok. Although I'll wager there's some people sweating in Thailand right now.
Merging Cultures Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 Ah come on! I was enjoying messing with that guy!
ramboacdc Posted 2 July 2015 Posted 2 July 2015 i slept fine. passed out at around 10 and woke up at 6. just don't feel refreshed. i guess that's with the heat. the downside to this is living in a 2nd floor flat i have nowhere to peg my washing out so to dry anything i have to use the radiators!
