Guest ttfn Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 £4m is well over-the-top. Good player, but really? £4m? For a 24-year-old completely untested outside the top flight. I think I may have read somewhere that he has 1 year left on his contract? If we won't pay £4m for Maynard, a striker, in that position, why pay £4m for Mills? The only difference I can think of is the injuries.
Fox 4 Life Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Mills is the best cb in the championship, well worth 4m considering the crazy money spent on English players lately
Ashley Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 For me last season, Ashley Williams was the best centre back in the league closely followed by Matt Mills. Matt Mills would be an excellent capture for us!
Lineker's Left Foot Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Agree that Mills is best CB out of Premier League. Wonder if he is a Leicester fan too considering he was born or grew up here supposedly (?)
ian_marshall Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Mills is the best cb in the championship, well worth 4m considering the crazy money spent on English players lately Have to agree. The guys a class act and would be a shrewd bit of business. Could easily see him moving on to a higher profile club later in his career for a far greater fee.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Agree that Mills is best CB out of Premier League. Wonder if he is a Leicester fan too considering he was born or grew up here supposedly (?) ....probably a Man U fan then if he's from Leicester
kingfox Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 If we get him I will be shocked, quality defender one if not the best in the division but we have the backing and we have the manager to tempt him here. Sven needs to work his magic especially on a player for Mills calibre, please god let this happen. Better than St Ledger by a country mile.

Liamlcfc1 Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Come on now guys we all know Wayne Brown is better then this guy
sdb Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 Huth and Shawcross were pretty much the best CB pairing in the league last year outside top 4. Appreciate Faye has left but they seem to be prioritising that area which is weird. Mills I suppose makes sense but £10 mill + for Danns? Strange.
FoxyPV Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 SSN has said that Stoke have put a bid in for him. If this is true it's a much better offer than Wolves as at least Stoke are (almost) guaranteed PL for the next season or two.
Liamlcfc1 Posted 30 June 2011 Posted 30 June 2011 IanStringerBBC Ian StringerMatt Mills looks to be heading for the Walkers Stadium/Filbert Way according to The Mirror - http://tinyurl.com/5r9yt6k - also Woodgate???

Lcfclee Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Daily mail reporting reading accept Leicester's 4 million offer for matt mills
Lcfclee Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Leicester have had a £4million bid accepted for Reading defender Matt Mills but are expecting a counter offer from Wolves and Stoke. Manager Sven Goran Eriksson has yet to finalise a deal for Preston defender Sean St Ledger but is keen on Sheffield United striker Ched Evans. Meanwhile Southampton are to rival Nottingham Forest and Leicester with a £4m bid for Bristol City striker Nicky Maynard after having a £3.25m bid for Doncaster's Billy Sharp rejected.
irDeano Posted 1 July 2011 Posted 1 July 2011 Odds have been shortening for him being at leicester after end of the summer and saw him having a meal at pizza hut at thurmaston this afternoon with what looked like an advisor (strange location I know) even with all that money he obviously still likes the pizza for a fiver offer So Pizza Hut is the new Morrisons/Marriott now then?
