wattolcfc Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 This week could be the biggest of Leicester Cities transfer history Why are we signing Crouch, Heskey and Kalac? BIG signings.
rico Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 This week could be the biggest of Leicester Cities transfer history agreed mate, wonder if we'll see our transfer record smashed?
Adster Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 Why are we signing Crouch, Heskey and Kalac? BIG signings. I'll get your coat..
Adster Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 agreed mate, wonder if we'll see our transfer record smashed? Could be a possibility, but I can't see us paying 5.5m for a player, even with these owners
thybluefox Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 This week could be the biggest of Leicester Cities transfer history Its lining up to look like that.... ...please don't hate me for thinking it'll be a disappointment though. This is City after all...
BlueSi13 Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 Big question here for me......is he better than an on-form Jack Hobbs......honest question guys?
BlueSi13 Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 Weird, for me it will be interesting to see where Hobbs, 22, and Mills, 24, are in 5 years time. I do believe Hobbs is shockingly underrated by people here who should remember how good he was for us under Pearson. I think he and Hull City will surprise a few next season
JimmyB Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 Hull will be top half but not playoffs IMO. Would imagine both Mills and Hobbs will be in the premiership in 5 years, can see Mills being successful at a fairly big club, Hobbs, not so much.
thybluefox Posted 3 July 2011 Posted 3 July 2011 This is really starting to annoy me now, yes Hobbs was a good defender, but that was it! He couldn't organise and he couldn't pass a ball. He will probably do well with Pearson because all he'll be asked to do is hoof the ball up the pitch. I like Jack Hobbs, I really do, but he just isn't good enough for the system Sven wants to play, just like Berner.
Hack Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 I think Jack Hobbs was a very good old Fashion type of Defender. Being tall, with a very good heading ability, with a focus on just clearing the ball away from the area. Not a generally skillful player, with poor touch and distribution. Suits a style of play from a coach like Pearson, who was himself an old fashioned defender. People need to realise that selling Hobbs was not a comment on his ability to defend but an issue of playing style that didn't fit what Sven and Fez are trying to play. Clearly they want ball playing types all over the pitch including the Centre Backs. And Fast overlaping Fullbacks. Hobbs just wasn't that. I think the test for Tunchev if he is fit and get significant minutes during the pre season wil be to see if he fits the Sven CB mould.
Dicko Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 I really hope this Mills transfer happens, of all the players we've been linked with this is the one I really want to come off. We've been missing a proper leader at the back for a while, and Mills will fit that bill, and still has his best years ahead of him. No real risk either as he knows this division inside out. Fingers crossed.
artursteppe Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Stoke have joined the race for O'Shea and Brown from Man U, could mean they have relaxed any interest in Matt Mills, which would increase our chances.
Wortho Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Top post Dicko. I quite agree that if we can sign Mills it will make a huge difference to our season. Also if we sign Routledge and the Yak we would have a good first eleven.
80footgiraffe Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 Beeeeeeert.....uum can you confirm anything please, cuz this is my top signing so I was wondering what the current situation is? Cheers buddy

Callabinho Posted 4 July 2011 Author Posted 4 July 2011 The mirror claims we have won the race haha, Don't forget Wolves have had a bid rejected, we haven't
surrifox Posted 4 July 2011 Posted 4 July 2011 they won't pay a loan fee to Chelsea (which presumably we had to do twice last year for Bruma and PVA) but are sniffing around a player for which the total package is mooted at £10mill- doesn't seem particularly likely
