John Matrix Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 How about just chatting to her? haha i do...lets be honest it takes about 10 minutes to read it....
I am Rod Hull Posted 7 July 2011 Posted 7 July 2011 I`v never bought a news paper for the front page in all my years... Only ever bought them for the sport and crosswords... Its like FIFA.. all talk but the same people will still be peddling the same old shite...
l444ry Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Not party political! How fooking thick is that? Blair and Cameron jumped into bed with these rats and flourished . Brown wouldn't play ball and was virtually crucified. Use your fooking heads!! Left-wing leading teamwork has brought this vermin tabloid toilet paper to it's end. Everyone who has helped should be proud of themselves. However like a wounded animal the corporation will strike back, especially at those who are taking the fight to them. The first to feel the wrath will be Ed Miliband with negative exclusives to be splashed over the corporations media titles in the next few days. Don't be sucked in with this bullshit. Over the years leaders of both main parties have fawned and bowed to the corporation, one leader crossed Murdoch and lost and now another leader is trying to take them on. The other two are still tied to their puppeteer and still defending Rebekah Brooks. It's worth remembering this over the next few months

The newspaper has behaved in an illegal way, which has disgusted all sides of politics, left and right. All politicians (including Gordon Brown) did play ball for the last 20 years. As disclosed on Question Time last night, Ed Milliband and members of the shadow cabinet recently attended a party held by Rupert Murdoch. I think the influence that newspapers have on deciding an election is vastly overblown. The newspapers follow public opinion, they do not lead it. Hence News International switched from Gordon Brown to David Cameron before the last election. This is not a right versus left issue.

You'll be telling us that the Pope ain't Catholic next.........
Jon the Hat Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 So Rupert Murdoch is not right wing then!!! You'll be telling us that the Pope ain't Catholic next......... Who said that? Rupert Murdoch will no doubt do his very best to ingratiate himself with whoever is in power at the time regardless of whether he agrees with their politics or not. the fact that he had as much success with the Labour party as with the Tories merely reflects that fact. Ed Milliband was never going to last until the next election, he is merely a puppet put up to waste a couple of years and give his replacement a chance to come in on a clean slate. If he goes down sooner than expected it will be because the party has no real appetite to fight for a temporary leader.

I will bet any money you like that Cameron will go as a party leader before Miliband. This affair has raised real doubts, even among Tories (see articles by Peter Oborne) about his judgement and credibility. His links with Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson were far closer than those Blair and Brown had. Questions continue to be asked about how and why Cameron hired Coulson to work as his Downing Street spin doctor. With at least two inquiries, and possible criminal trials, forthcoming it's possible that a "smoking gun" could emerge implicating Cameron still further. Should this happen, his position as prime minister could become untenable.

Well said, and how correct you are John. :appl: We seem to have a few extreme lefties here, making a pathetic attempt to blame the right. How ignorant they are.
breadandcheese Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 So Rupert Murdoch is not right wing then!!! You'll be telling us that the Pope ain't Catholic next......... What is the issue here for you? Is it that an illegal act has taken place? Or is that there is a chance to try and destroy News International? If it is the former, then we are all singing off the same page and can look forward to seeing those who committed crimes being brought to justice. If it is the latter, well, I question anyone who wants to see the demise and disappearance of a newspaper simply because it doesn't fit their political views. Thankfully, we have a good balance in the country between left-leaning media and right-leaning media thanks to the licence fee. The BBC ensures that no-one media portal is unchallenged as a monopoly, so I'm not concerned about left-wing media or right.

You do know that New International is trying to dismantle the BBC and stop the TV licence dont you? The Torys passed a bill soon after coming into power to do exactly that having had a lot of pressure and financial support from News International. You do know that the BBC are seen as a lefty broadcaster dont you? As Fox is to the right?

You do know that the BBC are seen as a lefty broadcaster dont you? As Fox is to the right? I do know all this, but thankfully, there is very little support to dismantle the BBC at ground level. Whilst most grass roots Tories complain about the BBC's left leaning nature, they'd rather have good old Auntie as they recognise its value. I wouldn't be too worried.

The left see the BBC as right leaning and the Right see the BBC as left leaning - they must be doing this whole balanced thing quite well.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Now forgive my ignorance, but I though the News of the World and the Sun was closely linked with many people such as reporters and editors etc crossing over, working for each title so I am confused why it is only the News of the World that is facing the brunt of this? I accept that the main people implicated in this have been directly linked to the News of the World, but with the practice seeming to be much more widespread than was initially let on (which to me suggests a degree of bad news management suggesting this goes all the way to the top) surely it's not just the NOTW that is guilty of this underhand and disgusting practice? I'm quite happy to hear the Sun and the Mirror are to face charges of perjury for the way they reported the arrest of the first guy in the Joanna Yeates murder, but I still think they both deserve a few more rockets up their bottom. Free press is not about writing what you want and trying to force opinions on people, it's about writing factual prices or challenging an established point of view with insightful argument. And one more thing - why does no one have the honour to do the right thing and resign any more?
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 God help us all if the NOTW readers move to the Mail on Sunday!
Webbo Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 God help us all if the NOTW readers move to the Mail on Sunday! That's given me a warm feeling inside.
21st Century Fox Posted 8 July 2011 Posted 8 July 2011 Murdoch has only closed The News of The World so it can be liquidated and archives of evidence can be destroyed. Weird how the domain names for thesunonsunday.co.uk and thesunonsunday.com just got registered two days ago.

I just pray that the domain names have been pinched by someone with fore site, not a Sun official, but I think I'll be disappointed.
