Salieri Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Only watch about 35 minutes of it as Family had a call saying my had Nan fallen down in nursing home, so had to rush out. Ratings please? : I'm too lazy to do ratings but I hope your nan's okay.
cc_star Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper 10 On my phone in the bak of my mates car so can't type out the rest tough game to judge on, but felt we fell short up front, think nugent will be a good companion to sum1 but not good enough with whats available at the club, but then again not everyone is Real
Danno Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kaspar 9 - Solid, goals weren't his fault, great in some one on ones Peltier 7 - average Mills 8.5 (9 if he stayed on for longer) - put his head in where it hurts, good performance St ledger 7 - Pretty average Bamba 9.5 - Excellent, great tackling Konchesky 9 - Solid, great on the ball. Wellens - 6 - Nightmare game, was as though he was half a sleep King 7.5 - didn't really get into the game Danns 8 - Good tackling, some bad decision making but generally good Johnson 7 - didn't look very match fit, made a good run or two, good passing Dyer 8 - Good Goal, terrible corner Vassell 7.5 - Not his best of games, average performance Howard 7.5 - Won the ball well, that's it. Nugent 8.25 - Good runs, but demonstrated that we need a good striker. Got stuck in well. Waghorn 6 - Was he there? If I've forgot anyone tell me
cc_star Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Waghorn 6 - Was he there? took a good freekick that Howard should have scored from, looked a free header from where I was From what I saw King was a waste of space, not really sure where he was playing when he came on.
HankMarvin Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kaspar 8 - good saves Peltier 6 - average Mills 7 good St ledger 6 Caught in possession on more than one occasion Bamba 9 *star man great challenges Konchesky 7 good Wellens - 5 below par King 6 average Danns 7 good set pieces Johnson 6 average Dyer 7 good finish Gallagher 6.5 drifted in and out of the game Oakley 5 below par Vassell 7 nice bursts of pace Howard 6 good hold up play Nugent 7 good Waghorn 5 below par
themotivator Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 took a good freekick that Howard should have scored from, looked a free header from where I was, yer, pretty much was. at up absolutely perfectly, and howard only tickled it. if he'd got his skull through it then would have been in all day long. disappointing from big steve-o
Bert Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Personally thought it Wellens mistake for their goal, trying a clever pass when it wasn't on.
Haydos Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 took a good freekick that Howard should have scored from, looked a free header from where I was From what I saw King was a waste of space, not really sure where he was playing when he came on. Box was really crowded. Did well to get in between the 2 defenders, inches wide though.
ScouseFox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Personally thought it Wellens mistake for their goal, trying a clever pass when it wasn't on. quelle fucking surprise
Guest shearfox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper 9 - Some excellent saves keeping us in touch Peltier 8 - looked solid, committed and some good runs going forward Bamba 10 - He was everywhere at the back making some world class tackles, didn't put a foot wrong Mills 8 - Solid and brave, made big error but down to injury Konchesky 8 - Made some crucial blocks and used the ball well. Danns 7.5 - Held on to the ball for too long at times put in some good corners Wellens 6 - Went missing not up to the pace of the game Abe 7.5 - Got stuck in and protected the back line well Gallagher 6.5 - Ineffective didn't really do too much for long periods of the game. Vassell 8 - Caused trouble down the left beating his men and winning freekicks and corners. Nugent 7 - good movement but unable to get in the game at all. Difficult in what was alone striker role. Howard 7 - Could have scored and held the ball well Waghorn 6 - Didn't really get a chance to make an impact. Oakley 6 - Pretty much the same as Waghorn. Johnson 7 - Good going forward and used the ball well, certainly not fully fit. Edit forgot Dyer Dyer 7 - Excellent finish wasn't on for long
kingfox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Schmeichel 8 - Fantastic showing good saves really commands his area. Peltier 8 - Consistent performance not scared at all Bamba 10 - Consdering he has been poor in other pre season games, he was fooking fantastic today Mills 8 - Brave warrior made some loose passes and was at fault for the first goal but all in all solid and brave Konchesky 8 - Consistent fantastic in the first half but tired in the second Danns 10 - Incredible signing, closed down got tackles in and passed tremendously well Wellens 6 - Poorest player on the pitch gave the ball away too often Abe 9 - Like Danns played a blinder in the middle of the park, especially first half Vassell 7 - Tries all the time made some good runs but overall average Nugent 7 - Tried his very best, chasing down causing a nuisance but got lazy towards the end of the game Gallagher 7 - Was well up for it some good accurate passing got stuck in but stil a bit too weak Forget subs, just mention Howard and Dyer as they were useful changes.
Aylestone Fox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 :sge: Two ratings posted and both forgot our best midfielder today (IMO),..Yuki Abe was superb today, as was Bamba and Schmeichel. Thought Nugent looked lively, and Danns second half improved. Vassel was good when running at the full backs. We're not gonna be playing the likes of Real Madrid every week so I think we should be confident going into the coming season... Schmeichel - 9 Peltier - 7.5 Konchesky - 8 Mills - 8.5 Bamba - 9 Gallagher - 8 Danns - 8 Wellens - 6 Abe - 9 Vassell - 8.5 Nugent - 8.5 Subs Used St Ledger - 7 Ball - 7 Oakley - 7 Dyer - 7.5 Waghorn - 7 Johnson - 7.5 Howard - 7 King - 7 Bring on Cov,...
SPF07 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I'm very happy that people have finally dropped the Wellens 'Love in' and understand he gives the ball away far to much and is not up to pace. he may have looked decent last year but that was more to do with the lack of competition / quality in the Central Midfield. Now we have that he is going to struggle.
Fox92 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper did well today. He puts his body in the well of the ball like Peter, which Weale didn't do/never did. Mills was commited. Put his head in where it hurts, unlike some of the other players. Bamba looked decent. Read the game well, anticipation etc, but still not that good in the air. Nugent was very good. Shame he was alone all the time, but he ran after the ball well and was decent in the air. From what I saw King was a waste of space, not really sure where he was playing when he came on. Same old/normal for King.

I forgot about king but he did make a good run down the right and put in a good cross. 7 for me another that didn't get long.
LCFC_FAN_1995 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Schmeichel - 9 Peltier - 7.5 Konchesky - 8 Mills - 8 Bamba - 10 my man of the match Gallagher - 8 Danns - 8 Wellens - 6 Abe - 7 Vassell - 8.5 Nugent - 7 Subs Used St Ledger - 6 Didn't look confident Ball - 6 Oakley - 7 Dyer - 7 Waghorn - 6 didnt do much Johnson - 7.5 Howard - 7 King - 7
sdb Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper - 8 Pelts - 8 Bamba - 8.5 Mills - 6.5 Konchesky - 7 Abe - 7.5 Wellens - 5 Danns - 7.5 Gally - 5 Nugent - 6 Vassell - 7 Subs: SSL - 6 Ball - 6 Waggy - 6 Dyer - 7 Howard - 6.5 Johnson - 6.5 King - 6 Oakley - 6
Yojoe36 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper - 9 (Some Brill Saves) Peltier - 6 (Meh) Bamba - 9 (Holy sh** he can tackle like a beeaasst) Mills- 8 (Got stuck in, got booted in the head, then nutted their keeper) Paul.K - 6/7 (Average) Ledger - 6 (Meh) Abe- 7 (Looked like he was into the game, but average performance) King- 6 (Saw him on the screen for about 5 seconds, then he just felt absent) Wellens -5 (Not enough pace, and crap passing a times. Could say that for the whole squad, but he stood out for me) Danns - 6/7 (Looked decent) Oakley - ? (Did he play?) Nugent -6 (?) Vassel - 6/7 Gallagher -5 (WEAK!!!) Howard - 6 (Meh) Waghorn -6 (A good delivery into the box I suppose, but not much else)
ozleicester Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kaspar 8 - good effort and already focussed on winning..shouting at ball boys to get the ball back faster Peltier 6 - some good work, but not outstanding Mills 8 - excellent, real confidence in our back 4 with him there St ledger 5 didnt do a lot, seemed slightly overawed. Bamba 8 - Ive been slagging him off lately, but today he was outstanding. Konchesky 7 Solid performance, looks the part Wellens - 5 not impressed today and on at least two occasions, lost the ball and did not chase back, looked frustrated Abe 7 - Very involved, some sharp passes faded a little King 6 - Nothig special but got about a bit Danns 8 - Looked good, fast, sharp deliveries Johnson 6 - Hard to call, nothing wrong.. but not outstansding Dyer 8 - as always worked hard, created and then scored, couldnt ask for much more. Gallagher 7 - was typical Gallagher Oakley 5 nothing to report Vassell 7 - Good game, opened them up a couple fo times, chased back well Howard 7 - did well in his short time Nugent 7 - Put himself about well... worked hard, had a couple of shots, good effort Waghorn 6 - Typical Waggy, worked, ran but to no result.
RowlattsFox Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 Kasper - 8- Some top saves but could he may have been more commanding for the second? I need see it again to be sure. Love his rants at everyone whenever someone has a shot at him. Peltier -7- Thought he looked pretty good to be honest, be a bit unlucky not to start next week, Mills -7- Looked decent. Bamba -9- Pretty exceptional to be fair, earned himself the start next week. Konchesky -6- Didn't do much wrong, so much of the play was down the real left. Abe -6.5- Put himself about, some good challenges but some woeful touches. Wellens -5- Poor, not a good time to have a poor game. Difficult because his style is to create and try difficult passes but against this kind of opposition he should keep it simple. Danns -7- Work rate was excellent, clumsy at times though. Gallagher -6.5- Played some lovely balls to feed Nugent. Vassell -6.5- Decent but never looks like scoring or creating. Nugent -6.5- MAde some good runs first half, always tried, ran out of steam 2nd half. Subs: St Ledger -5- Thought he looked a little out of his depth, chasing shadows most the time. Will get better though I'm sure. Johnson -6- Ok, but didn't show anything too special. We struggled to get the ball so didn't help him. King -6- Same as Johnson. Rest of the subs barely add time to have too much of an impact, good finish from Dyer and Howard should have scored the header. Disappointed Schlupp didn't get on, looked forward to seeing him.
man in the long Black Coat Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 I would give Kasper MOM just for his annoyance at conceding the goals (it was only a friendly Kasper) and I like the way he blasts the defenders and midfield. A chip of the old block I would say. Mills was brave and committed Bamba was mainly excellent Peltier & Konchesky both had solid games Wellens same old Danns & Abe a lot of huff and puff but no end ball, not always their fault Vassell same old Gallagher weak, not enough movement, Nugent good performance but isolated
MGLCFC Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 When rating the players remember who they were up against and that man for man there is not one of our players who would get into the Real squad I thought the defence were immense, including Schmichael - to only conceded two against a world class side was a commendable effort. Danns and Abe were hard working in midfield. wellens didn't have one of his better games and Gally was just out of his depth. Vassell looked as though he could beat his full back and Nugent showed the abllity to run the channels well, but with little support. We will not play any team in the championship that is half as good as Real Madrid, so I think we can be very optimistic for the forthcoming season.
trueblue111 Posted 30 July 2011 Posted 30 July 2011 how can people say peltier was average compared to some of the others. he was class and looked comfortable all the time and lasted the full 90 despite the amount of substitutions, says it all. thought nugent looked quality as well. bamba looked immense as well
