Oh, and btw, no rioting in Scotland, Wales or N Ireland.

Yeah, we English are brilliant.

Probably cos the Tories don't run the whole show there.......

COMMUNITY DEFENCE FORCE is the future. It's time to weapon up yo!

I've got a rolling pin, a golf club and an old heavy small electric fan on a lead that I can swing round my head like those old weapon balls with spikes on. Might nip into me garage to see what else I can knock up.

Mnnm mnnm mnnm...

It's lovely that my taxes pay for dribbling special folks like you to get out and about in the community but I do draw the line when you are given access to the internets.

Not much news on London from BBC or Sky considering the amount of activity there is about it on twitter.

news blackout. hopefully the plastic bullits are stinging

We rioted hard up here last night and appear to have got bored and tired so can't be arsed tonight. Well, that's officially. Unofficially the whole city has been smashed and burnt to the ground and there is nothing left to burn. Hmmm.

Definitely seems like a news blackout.

I thought I'd been a little out-of-order a while back when I accused Bentley's of being a hotbed of racists.

Seems I may have to reconsider...

Anyone know whats being said on twitter?

Rioting youths throwing "missiles" through business windows by Curve. Tension is back. More police now running down

Yes because that is clearly the reason.

Idiot, that's not what I'm saying. Not clearly the reason, no. But their nationalist governments have certainly tried to make the cuts less severe.

Yes because that is clearly the reason.

while it is ridiculous to suggest that is the main reason, It is reasonable to suggest that it is an influence on events - the Tories have history in widening the wealth gap and buggering the lower classes to improve life for the upper classes.

People don't riot when all's going swimmingly and they're relatively secure financially.

Just clashes between rioters and anti rioters and some cars/buildings on fire, a long with the usual looting. It's just strange that the news channels have hardly mentioned london.

At last. I now understand the whole big society thing.

11pm update - groups of youths remain in the city, being monitored by police and CCTV, we are responding asap to any incidents

I did however get told to leave town immediately unless I was there for a very good reason at about 5 o'clock. Police were well prepared here.

Bad, bad scenes in Manchester however.

The BBC has updated about the Leicester incidents...

2303: Leicestershire Police have said on their Twitter account that their officers were attempting to disperse a group of youths in Leicester city centre and deal with those "responsible for criminal acts".
