Reading OS

The Royals have currently sold a touch more than 700 tickets for Saturday's game away to Leicester City

Last year we took 465 fans to the Walker's Stadium when we won 2-1 live on Sky Sports in August, and we will have a good following when we travel to the newly-named King Power Stadium this coming weekend.

"A good following of 700" lol

Small-time club, how on earth were they in the top flight, Wigan of the south.

Not looked forward to a Saturday as much as this for a while, this is the first big test of the season to see what we're made of.

With both Long and Mills gone, if we can keep Kébé quiet we should have a good chance against them. The man absolutely ruined us at the Madejski last season, but I'm quite confident he won't be quite the same force this time around. Manset is a dark horse for danger as well, but Bamba and Mills should be able to deal with him reasonably enough.

Hopefully Schlupp gets his chance to shine.

I am too very much looking forward to Saturday, the buzz continues.

Need a good start at with our home games, hopefully Schlupp gets the nod, will have a cheeky bet on him to score.

We have a dreadful record at the Way against them, this would be a good time to start rectifying that.

amen that brother, just hope i am there as i may be at work for 12 hours plus again

A 'good' following of 700?

When Mills moved here, many Readng fans could not understand why he had decided to come to a club that finished boelow them in the table last season. They need only look at themselves to find out why.

Jesus, I can remember taking double that to Tuesday night games in League 1.

I think 700 is bad. Its their first away game of the season, its not like they are coming from Brighton on a Tuesday night. I could understand abit if it was on TV, but 700 is not 'good'.

Then again, Reading arn't a well supported club really.

They have sold 700 so far ,I would hope they end up with 1500 minimum with people paying on the gate. Why buy tickets upfront when you don't need to ?

The referee for Saturday's game is a certain Keith Stroud....he has sent Matt Mills off in both games refereeing two Reading games....hope it is not a bad omen

I don't think we will bring any more than a thousand.

846 was our average away following last season and even taking account of it being the first away game of the season, there are still people on holiday.

Unfortunately Leicester away is not the huge draw that maybe a South Coast team or London team would have been for our first game.

Terrible record against these but as said keep Kebe quiet and i think the 3 points are ours for the taking.

Hardly the point though is it mate? You should be supporting your team whether you're playing Man Utd or Hartlepool. I know we took some cracking numbers away in League 1, no reason why you shouldn't.

Because you are a much better supported team than we are. You do take large numbers away, I believe you were 3rd in the championship last season for average away following.

Yes it would be great if we could take large numbers to every away game, unfortunately we know this will never happen.

sky's preview of the game - by the looks of things reading have a few injuries

Team news for Saturday's Championship clash between Leicester and Reading at the King Power Stadium

John Pantsil could be in line for his Leicester debut against Reading at the King Power Stadium.

The former Fulham full-back has yet to be involved this season. A work permit issue ruled him out of the Championship opener against Coventry while he missed the midweek Carling Cup tie at Rotherham as he was away on international duty with Ghana.

Fellow defender Sean St Ledger (Republic of Ireland) and midfielder Andy King (Wales) missed the Millers match for the same reason and will also bolster boss Sven-Goran Eriksson's squad for the visit of last season's play-off finalists.

However, Japan international Yuki Abe will not report back from international duty until Friday and it could be too late for him to be involved.

Lee Peltier, scorer of the winning goal against Midlands rivals Coventry, remains sidelined by the groin injury he sustained at the Ricoh Arena while striker Darius Vassell will serve the second game of a three-match ban for his red card against the Sky Blues.

Reading's Mathieu Manset could fill the void left by Shane Long's departure when they travel to Leicester.

Republic of Ireland international Long joined Premier League side West Brom for an undisclosed fee earlier this week after firing 23 goals in 47 starts last season.

Manset looks primed to start against the Foxes after coming off the bench to score two late goals to salvage a point in the Royals' league opener against Millwall.

Reading will be without injured trio Shaun Cummings, Marcus Williams and Simon Church.

Jay Tabb was due to serve the second game of his suspension against Charlton in the Carling Cup but will miss the trip to the King Power Stadium due to that tie's postponement.

Ian Harte and Andy Griffin have minor knocks but both are hopeful of starting.
