Jimothy Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Podolski has apparently agreed personal terms with Arsenal, but they haven't agreed a fee. You watch him go score 15 at the Euro and Arsenal end up being priced out.

Corky Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 How can they agree personal terms before a fee?
Jimothy Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 How can they agree personal terms before a fee? No idea. Cologne are obviously resigned to losing him and are letting him talk to other clubs, no idea why they haven't agreed a fee with them yet though.
Jaspa Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 Podolski will signal the departure of RvP. David Villa looks to be coming over in the summer. And Suarez will probably be off too. Looking like a very big summer coming up
Lovejoy Posted 28 February 2012 Posted 28 February 2012 If true I'm not convinced Podolski will cut it for Arsenal. Showed at FC Bayern that he wasn't suited to a big team, and has proved in two stints for Cologne that being the preverbial "big fish in a small pond" is where he excels. Cue Arsenal jokes now I suppose .
StanSP Posted 29 February 2012 Posted 29 February 2012 David Villa looks to be coming over in the summer. Says who?
Haydos Posted 29 February 2012 Posted 29 February 2012 How can they agree personal terms before a fee? Despite people thinking they no everything about transfers, personally I don't think the procedure on Football Manager is that straight forward. Eg. What would be the point in spending a week negotiating a transfer and then finding out the player has no intention of coming.

Eg. What would be the point in spending a week negotiating a transfer and then finding out the player has no intention of coming. But the the flip side of that would be, what would be the point in spending a week negotiating personal terms, only to find your valuation of the player is miles away from the other club. And with Wenger track record that's very likely. Cologne will probably want about £5m and he'll offer 500k.
davieG Posted 29 February 2012 Posted 29 February 2012 Perhaps both are being negotiated at the same time, no agreement doesn't mean do negotiation.

AjcW Posted 29 February 2012 Posted 29 February 2012 Says who? Theres a lot of talk in spain from very credible sources that a little transfer triangle has occured. Starts with Soldado to Barca, Torres to Valencia and ends with Villa to Chelsea
shen Posted 29 February 2012 Posted 29 February 2012 Arsenal fans are raving about Podolski. Personally I think he is absolute cack. A player that gets 95 caps for Germany is anything but cack. Especially when he bags nearly a goal every other game. He didn't have a great time at Bayern, but he's shown to be way too good for a midtable team for years now. Of course, if you don't like his style, fair enough, but he is just not 'absolute cack' as you say.

Jimothy Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Justice done in the Liverpool Arsenal game. Shocking dive by Suarez's but Szcezny saves Kuyt's penalty.# Edit: Not that it mattered because Koscielny has put through his own net.

Alright the little swine went down like the dirty little scumbag he is but it was a blatant penalty...

Alright the little swine went down like the dirty little scumbag he is but it was a blatant penalty... Szcezny was nowhere near the ball but he didn't touch Suarez, who just threw himself to the floor when he realised he wasn't going anywhere.
Haydos Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Szcezny was nowhere near the ball but he didn't touch Suarez, who just threw himself to the floor when he realised he wasn't going anywhere. I know what you mean to be honest (this is more me disagreeing with the rules and how we view challenges) but when a player lunges in and gets nowhere near the ball, 90% of the time the attacker will jump to avoid it. When there is no contact people cry dive but had the attacker just not tried to avoid the challenge they'd get completely cropped. I'm not defending Suarez as a player (i think he is a diving little shit in general and will do anything to get a decision/player booked) but on this occasion I think it was a clear penalty once you ignore him rolling around on the floor after.
Haydos Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 RVP!! :w00t: Class, again. Alex Song, underrated passer? He's pulled some peaches out this season.
Jimothy Posted 3 March 2012 Posted 3 March 2012 Class, again. Alex Song, underrated passer? He's pulled some peaches out this season. Probably Arsenal's second best player, and I think people forget that when they say only RVP from the Arsenal team would get into a top 4 team. He makes them tick. When Song's on song so are Arsenal.
