Fox in the North Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Why do Wigan keep doing this?! They're going to ruin my accumulators next season Other than that, well played
ScouseFox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Decent. Wigan were boss. And everyone loves it when Arsenal lose. Look at those reactions from Van Persie, Wenger, fans at the game booing. Good to see.
leicesterisme Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Caldwell absolutely dominated RVP throughout that game and he couldn't take it.
Libertine Dream Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Never understood the peoppe who wrote Wigan off really. Theyve done this time and time again, have a great manager, play some decemt football and have a couple of really decent players. They always start off slow because theyre a selling club so sell their best players each year and take time to settle after replacing them. Constantly evolving. Having said that, never expected them to go to Liverpool and Arsenal and win, aswell as beating Man Utd on their own patch. Personally think Wolves and Blackburn are gone, Bolton, QPR, Wigan and Villa can fight it out for the last one.
Happy Fox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Wigan have done it again bloody hell so annoying, wish they were relegated, I think the bottom three will stay as it is, Villa may get bogged down in it but they should have enough to see it through, looks like Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves next season it is going to be tough in the champ.
AjcW Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 They always start off slow because theyre a selling club so sell their best players each year Sad thing is this probably wont change next year. Moses has been brilliant and would be an asset to top half teams (excluding top 4) Figeuroa was wanted by Arsenal not long back Diame looks brilliant All people who could quite easily been sold!!
StanSP Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 What a loss to England Victor Moses is, we'll never be a force when players like him slip away. Apart from the past few weeks, where has Moses been this season? He's no loss at all. It'll be the same next season too. Flash of brilliance in a few games towards the end of the season, and nowhere to be seen up til then.

Moses has been a hard worker and shown great ability every time I have seen him on highlights and in live games. Lets be honest.... he's got a better attitude and will to work than that twat walcott for a start!

Lets be honest.... he's got a better attitude and will to work than that twat walcott for a start! Walcott was utter dross tonight. Wasn't impressed by him at all. Other than the past couple of weeks, I genuinely cannot remember anything of note that Moses has done.
ScouseFox Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Moses has been very bright throughout the season without much reward, really. Only 4 goals and a few assists, but watching him you see he'll run at (and beat) anyone in the division comfortably. I remember him running at least 70 yards past virtually the whole Liverpool team at the DW.
AjcW Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Fair enough, one thing for me that will always stand out was a few months back when Wigan were just truly awful, he was the shining light in a shocking game v Man City that they lost. I really think he's got something, and as for Martinez, im properly proud of him for not giving up on the philosophies he believes in, playing football the way it should be played, I have a lot of respect for him. And finally, Dave Whelan, yes, he's occasionally a bit of a nob but as a football chairman he has done everything right, stuck with his man through thick and thin, and stuck with his club despite being based in a city Where theres little interest in Football. Edit: Id also love to see Martinez given the chance at a club with more naturally gifted passers of a football.
Corky Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Martinez has the qualities to go on to a bigger club.
StanSP Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Definitely agree with you on the Martinez front. Stuck to his ways and it's paid off with some top results they probably weren't expected to achieve.
AjcW Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 14 Points from 21. Not bad for a team at the bottom. Might just show the likes of wolves and blackburn that if you make an effort to go out and win a game you might just get something. Also if Mark Hughes relegates QPR i'll probably be happier than I have ever been about any other piece of Premier League news!
Super_horns Posted 16 April 2012 Posted 16 April 2012 Martinez has the qualities to go on to a bigger club. A top club would love his style of (or rather the way he gets Wigan to play) Also there is less pressure at Wigan compared to other clubs at the bottom because Martinez has the support of his chairman and fans.
AKCJ Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 What a loss to England Victor Moses is, we'll never be a force when players like him slip away. What attributes does he have rather than being moderately quick and one or two tricks? I find he's also incredibly selfish. Jordi Gomez was in acres of space in the second half. All he had to do was tap it back to him and Gomez would have scored a fairly simple goal and at 1-2 it would have sealed the game there and then. Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain looks to be much more of a talent.
Tincy Posted 17 April 2012 Posted 17 April 2012 Be Surprised if Martinez is still at Wigan next season, regardless of if they are relegated or not.

They're not really a club, just a Dave Whelan vanity project. Once he leaves, they'll return to the obscurity from which they emerged. Until then, though, we'll just have to endure them as the modern-day equivalent of Coventry. And at least their survival and recent results are a slap in the face for those defeatists who say smaller teams can't compete in the top flight.
Corky Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 The best managers shortlist for the Premier League 20 Years anniversary is fascinating. Redknapp and Moyes, both with highest finishes of fourth, are nominated, yet Dalglish, one of only five people to win it, isn't included? http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/17734402
Corky Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 Because he's a cùnt. I don't like him either, but he did an incredible job at a smallish club at Blackburn.
ADK Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 I'm guessing its weighted towards more recent managers, anyway you couldn't really give it to anyone but SAF so they might aswell have included Peter Taylor.
AdamN Posted 18 April 2012 Posted 18 April 2012 The best managers shortlist for the Premier League 20 Years anniversary is fascinating. Redknapp and Moyes, both with highest finishes of fourth, are nominated, yet Dalglish, one of only five people to win it, isn't included? http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/17734402 Moyes has kept Everton competitive for 10 years on a shoestring budget, Dalgish won the title once with millions to spend. Not to undermine his achievement of winning the league (even though I'd like to, cos he's a twat), but he's hardly been consistently great for a number of seasons. Mancini will have finished higher than fourth twice at the end of this season - would you include him on the list? It's all irrelevant anyway. Ferguson is a dead cert to win it, with Wenger a close second.
