teblin Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Good player but wasn't exactly prolific for WBA in the Championship. He may not have had that many starts mind you. Did very well at Swidon and was very impressed with him when we played them in league 1. Very similar to Nugent, I can't help but think we need a different type as an option. Teams can sit deep against us and not worry too much, if we had a bigger target man type they wouldn't be able to do that as much.
Horibbly Wrong Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Who said months ago when they started the 'Who would you buy thread' they wanted Cox? Oh yeah. Mee-9 I'm guessing thats where this story has come from
paddy Agyemang Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 said this bloke from the start in the 1st 20 pages of nicky maynard i think this guy is superb

Cox could play as a second striker behind Nugent, and would definitely give our attack more mobility, pace and firepower. He's always done well against us. Not sure that Hodgson's that keen to sell him but if he does go on the market, Cox is a player we should aim for.
markbsac Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 get him in been telling my lad for ages we should get him
Marmite Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 3 million is alot of money for a striker who has hardly made an impact since he was in League One. When are people going to realize that just because you can score 30 goals in League One does not mean you can do the same in the Championship or the premier league. Look at Charlie Austin, awesome for Swindon, signs for Burnley, whats he done ?
Tielemans63 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I'm willing to bet this is yet more wild speculation - pure and simple. Hope I'm wrong but I can't see Woy letting him go.
thybluefox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Can I just remind people that whatever new striker we get, we'll still have the same problems. They won't be our saviour.
Lambert09 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 3 mil plus add ons if we go up or if he scores 20+ taking it up to 5 mil and we've got ourselves a nice bit of business! I'm another one that suggested him a while back, gunna assume we fail after a thread of 5000 pages and sign an out of contract french prostitute...you heard it here first
blueblood88 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Can I just remind people that whatever new striker we get, we'll still have the same problems. They won't be our saviour. Fvck off you miserable tw@t
SMX11 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 It doesn't matter who we sign up front, if he has no support (quite likely with this shit system we are playing) he will struggle to score goals. Would love him here though, but we need two central strikers starting.
Jaspa Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I really don't think he's achievable for us Made a good impression on alot of people towords the end of the last Prem season. Broke into the Ireland set-up and scored for them. And he let us down a couple years ago Id say 3% chance perm, 10% loan for now
Number 6 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Can't see this one. He'll get games with West Brom. I imagine he's ahead of Fortune in the pecking order,
bald reynard Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I posted speculation about Cox on this Forum earlier in the week (after reading about a likely bid in Neil Fissler's column in the Football League Paper of 14th August); but the Moderators deleted my thread (again - they deleted my thread about Santa Cruz a few days ago as well - before Wherethefoxhat? posted his) - have they got something against me ?! I said then (and I'll say it again - as we now have a SC thread !), Albion do have a few strikers now (Odemwingie has signed a new contract and they have Fortune and Long, in addition to Cox) - I think a bid from City might be successful. We know Sven rates him. Neil Fissler seemed to be think that it was a distinct possibility.

I imagine he's ahead of Fortune in the pecking order, They'll play Odemwingie (now he's signed a new contract) and Long. Fortune will be on the bench - Hodgson's been quoted as saying he really rates him. With only 5 subs, I can't see Cox even getting a regular place on the bench, let alone starting.

Simmo86 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Fvck off you miserable tw@t Errr.......he's got a point dopey!! Just because we get a striker in doesn't mean everythings going to suddenly turn great! We still need a couple of wingers on top of a striker!
Outfox the Fox Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 I posted speculation about Cox on this Forum earlier in the week (after reading about a likely bid in Neil Fissler's column in the Football League Paper of 14th August); but the Moderators deleted my thread (again - they deleted my thread about Santa Cruz a few days ago as well - before Wherethefoxhat? posted his) - have they got something against me ?! Neil Fissler told me last week that Sven had enquired about Cox's availability; but, Hodgson had said there would be no further striker sales (having released Miller), until Odemwingie had made a decision on his new contract. Now that's happened, I would expect that City might make a bid. Whether WBA will sell though, is another question.
bald reynard Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 7 subs in the prem Yeah, sorry, you're right. I suppose Albion might want a couple of strikers on the bench out of the 7 (Cox and Fortune) - I guess that makes a sale less likely.
DanTheFox07 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Get him in on either a loan or a pernament deal sven!!!
leicesterthroughandthrough Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Seems like he's 4th in the pecking order at the Baggies, can maybe see a loan move, and I'm not ruling out a permanent one.
accessory Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Get him in on either a loan or a pernament deal sven!!! This.

Number 6 Posted 19 August 2011 Posted 19 August 2011 Wow maybe Woy has lost it. Fortune is garbage. If Cox is 4th choice then we may have a shot.
