Paintsil - 7 thought he had a pretty good first half, and looked okay defensively and coming forwards. Mills - 6 Cracking first half second not so good, penalty was a disgrace nothing he could do! bamba- 7 Pretty good game, played safe balls at time instead of dwelling on it. Konchesky - 4 once his legs went forest had plenty of play down that far side, wasn't his best game today. Wellens - 8 Superb first half, kept the midfield in check and passed the ball well. Fernandes - 8 Excellent ran the game first half set one up and scored one, what more can you say! Danns - 7 I thought dannzy had a good game today! made a lot of positive runs and could have had a goal. King - 5 He was better today! still went missing from time to time, but looked brilliant when he was charging forwards, Nugent - 8 MOTM in my opinion. Ran his socks of and we really suffered when he went off. Vassell - 5 frustrated the hell out of me, one minuet he was grabbing his leg the next running aimlessly down blind alleys, need to see more from him. Gally - 4 Pretty poor when he came on, got a few clearances in but didn't really put a shift in. Weale - 3 what did you do for the goal sunshine. Abe - 4 came on to try and aid the bus we tried to park, didn't really notice him to be honest....

Second half he could barely run.

And he was man enough to say sorry. Paintsil - 7 - Impressed me really. Good going forward and good defending. Mills - 7 - Solid. Passing was better! I thought the penalty was very harse. Bamba- 7 - Good game. Konchesky - 6 - His legs did look weary towards the end, but he was steady throughout. Wellens - 8 - Superb first half from Richie. Passed well as usual. Fernandes - 8 - Another excellent away performance. Thought he bossed the midfield and got a goal and assist. (MOTM for me). Danns - 8 - Better. King - 6 Nugent - 8 - Ran his socks off yet again and held the ball up very well. Vassell - 6 - Decent enough. Did well chasing balls and knocked a few balls into a dangerous area. _______ Weale - Same old. Flapping and missing the cross for the goal. Gallagher - Don't rate him at all. Abe

Paintsil - 8.5 Pumped the crowd up before kick off and showed great passion, desire and ability for the cause. He is going to be a huge asset. Mills - 7 Much much better. That was not a penalty either. Cracking first half second not so good, penalty was a disgrace nothing he could do! Bamba- 9 Immense.A colossus at the back. Konchesky - 7 Worked well with Danns and was great to see him giving it to the Forest scum just after the break. Got up and back. Wellens - 8 So vital in the middle as always. Fernandes - 8 Vital tackles, great distribution, really important Danns - 8 Got up and back so well and went round their players with ease more than once. King - 7 Some cracking runs, still not quite vintage King. Nugent - 7 Getting better with every game, not a natural finisher but works very hard. Vassell - 7 Very important today making runs and stretching the play allowing our defence to shift them up. Worked his nuts off. Gally - 6 Came on in a very difficult situation. Weale - 3 Very hard to come in at the time he did, flapped and missed the cross for the equaliser. Abe - n/a Came on too late to make any comment. I sincerely hope some of the mugs on this forum that have been calling for Sven's head and putting down our players bothered to show up for this game because on the whole we were superb and only missed out on all the points because of some poor refereeing. I full expect the mugs to be eating their words this time next week.
shen Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Schmeichel 6 - A couple of good saves, harshly sent off, but should know better. Needs to control his temper better. Paintsil 6,5 - Was defensively very solid and worked well with Mills whenever Forest played the ball in behind him. Cross for the equalizer came from his side and he probably should have been a bit closer to his man. Maybe it was down to him lacking fitness. One of the main culprits second half for constantly hoofing it back and gifting possession away. Mills 7 - Solid and was very unlucky to give away a peno. Looked visibly shaken after that. Obvious that he still lacks confidence. Bamba 7,5 - Best man at the back, and also had a good shot first half from the left channel. Saved Konchesky's bacon a few times and hardly lost a battle all day. Konchesky 5 - Was poor, especially when we came under pressure. Every attack went down his side, and if it wasn't for Danns and Bamba, Forest would've found some clear openings before the peno. Was decent first half when we were in control of proceedings, providing good support down the wing. Wellens 6 - He doesn't have the physique to be the holding player and he was sitting so deep at times in the second half that you could've mistaken him for a center back. Brainless tackle and foul on the edge of the area that got him booked and gifted Forest a great chance which they luckily spurned. One of the main reasons that the initiative was lost second half. Fernandes 7,5 MOTM - Fantastic first half! The first goal was all about him and a great run into the box for the second. Made many good interceptions and always did something useful with the ball. Faded badly second half. Can't remember him touching the ball for the last 30 minutes... Danns 7 - Second goal was created single-handedly by him. Should maybe have scored it himself, but it got us a goal nonetheless. A LOT of running by him and was also helping out well defensively second half. Had Konchesky not had such a stinker, he could've maybe pushed a bit higher up to provide an invaluable outlet during the second half. His substitution didn't do Konchesky any favours. King 5,5 - Looked very good first half and created space for his teammates. Faded badly and was overwhelmed in the second half. Looked absolutely knackered when he came off. Would not be surprised to see Johnson in next week in his place. Nugent 7,5 - Caused them problems all day. His substitution marked the moment when we completely lost the initiative and started hoofing at every attempt. Great poachers goal and is a real asset to the squad. Vassell 6 - Ran himself to the ground today and his presence allowed Nugent more space. Was vital for our game plan first half and you could only sympathize with him second half. Only poses a minimal goal threat though, which is disappointing. Gally 5 - Offered next to nothing. Had one half chance late second half which wasn't well taken. Schlupp would've probably been a more worthwile option. Was Dyer injured? Weale 4 - He couldn't even last 15 minutes without flapping again. Poor poor mistake and while I acknowledge it isn't easy coming in for your first appearance with your team pegged back and down to ten men, it really was an unacceptable mistake. Hopefully he won't prove such a liability against Burnley. It also emphasizes how important it is that Kasper keeps his cool!!! Abe - NA Team: I thought we did as well as the personnel can during the first half. A lot of pressing high up the pitch and some competent defending, which snuffed out any danger and created the chances for us. If I have to be critical it's that we lacked some flair to match the graft. We looked solid going forward using the channels, but with no tall presence in the box crossing isn't a good option and going through the middle we lacked someone to unlock their otherwise solid defense. Second half was just not good. We started well but faded badly after 60 minutes. Ironically, I thought that we verged on careless as Forest were pressing us very high and got very close to our defenders when we had the ball. I wished we would've just cleared the ball more often then. But we soon dropped so so deep and were always going to invite the pressure from then on with senseless hoofing.

Liked that he apologised on t' radio afterwards. Paintsil - 6.895 Was alright, scared me a bit first half when he was on the ball. Mills - 8 Looked unruffled and full of confidence. Bamba- 8 Played well, looked good with Mills as well, which was nice to see. Konchesky - 7 Good game, looked knackered at the end though. Solid at the back, doesn't offer much attacking wise unfortunately. Wellens - 7 Seemed to be the sitter to day, played the usual 'cheeky bastard' role. Good distribution as well. Fernandes - 9 Very good day. Tackling, passing, vision, was spot on. Danns - 7 Looked electric at times. King - 5 Anonymous at points, but did show some good work rate. Nugent - 8 Good day for Nuggen. Vassell - 5 Didn't do much. Looked knackered at the end. Gally - 4 not good enough, not enough work rate, but felt bad for him as he was up against Wes in the air. Weale - 3 Oh dear. Abe - n/a No time for influence. Whoever phoned in from Hamilton after the game, you are a fool. Please don't do it again.

Mills - 7.5 - Best game in a Leicester shirt so far, distribution is improving, and linked well with Bamba. Bamba - 8 - Another solid display for Bamba. His concentration and position just keeps on improving. Konchesky - 6 - Weak link in the back line. Distribution was poor and always want to dive into tackles. Wellens - 7.5 - Kept the ball moving well and battled hard. Fernandes - 8.5 - Superb workrate and use of the ball. Thought he was one of our better players today King - 6 - Didn't have a major impact on the game at all. Danns - 7.5 - Best game in a Leicester shirt also, looked dangerous in the final third. Nugent - 8 - I really like Nugent,. works the channels well and causes defenders problems. Rewarded with a goal. Vassell - 7 - Linked the midfield and attack well. Fernandes - 7.5 Was brilliant until we conceded where him and the rest of midfield seemed to disappear. Wellens 6.5 - OK but not great King 6 - Quiet Danns 7.5 - Like Fernandes was good until they scored, best game for us so far. Nugent - 7.5 ran and ran, deserved his goal Vassell - 7 always a threat. Gallagher is not the type of player to hold the ball up like Nugent was doing, Sven should have put Howard on the bench to offer a holding up option because the ball kept coming back after Nugent went off. I don't rate Gallagher in any position though, I wouldn't care if we sold him.

If he knows Nugent isnt going to last 70 mins have someone on the bench ready to replace him, Howard or Waghorn. Howard could hold the ball up and will motivate others, and Waghorn will run with the ball. Even Dyer coming on would have been better against a tired defence.

Wellens - 7 - another tidy game, laid the ball around well and got stuck in. Fernandes - 9 - MOM for me again, absolutely everywhere and fabulous hand in goals. Danns - 7- good game hard worker and created a few opportunities. King - 5 - I wonder if its just me, but i just dont see him, only appears on occasion Nugent - 8- Fantastic game, ran..pressed, and caused general havoc... he needs help though Vassell - 6 - Patchy today...some good efforts but just slightly of his game Gally - 4- Im a Gall fan, but this was his worst game ive seen, didnt get in..badly judged runs..whinging Weale - FOOK Abe - 5 - neither here nor there... wrong player at the wrong time i think today

(7.5) DANNS- Was very dangerous in the final third , did brilliantly in the build up to the 2nd goal , showed Sven why he should be a regular . leicesterseddon Posted 20 August 2011 Posted 20 August 2011 Not sure if I feel up to doing player ratings. For anyone that didn't go, I'll summarise as follows: 1. We look so much better playing 4-4-2. 2. Danns and Wellens had good games in midfield, Nugent worked hard. 3. Konchesky faded very, very badly towards the end - they had free rein down our left side in the second half. 4. Weale...I have so little confidence with him in goal.
