broughtonblue Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Been told by a friend of a friend of a friend who knows someone at city that nugent is out for 6 weeks, this is poss a pile of crap, does anyone know if it's true or not? I bloody hope it's false
Narborough_fox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Sven said it would only take 1-2 weeks to fully recover so unless he's suffered a set-back it's probably a load of crap. Well at least I hope it is.
drc Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I think Sven said he hoped it would be for only 1-2 weeks The interview was before Nugents scan
davieG Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 If he is I doubt we'd want it to be in the public domain as it will put more pressure on us to up our bids but knowing how football is these days the agents probably already know and it was them that told Sven how bad the injury is.
@mrtonycox Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I had my hamstring repaired, was week's before I could walk properly let alone run and train..... Couldn't straighten it for at least a fortnight after.
Fox92 Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Regardless of if its rumour or not, I hope not. Nugent offers so much.
broughtonblue Posted 31 August 2011 Author Posted 31 August 2011 Will be sadly missed . Bloody hell, not fecking dead!
accessory Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 Usual recovery time for this type of injury is about a month. If he's back before the end of September it will be a bonus for us.
ozleicester Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 yeh.. Nugent out!... lazy bugger... was the invisible man on sat...did nothing for most of the game
Thracian Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I had my hamstring repaired, was week's before I could walk properly let alone run and train..... Couldn't straighten it for at least a fortnight after. Absolutely .... there is no way anyone is going to have recovered from a pulled hamstring in under three weeks and then you've got to make up on other things like general match fitness, normal mobility and confidence that the injury has properly mended and is ready to cope with Championship football. A big problem with hamstrings is bringing people back too soon and having the injury recur. Ability to run and train soon returns but these are predictable things and the problem is coping with the stresses and strain of the unpredictable. Setbacks are not to be recommended with hamstrings so a week or two extra with the rehabilitation is much preferable to bringing a player back too soon and his suffering further damage either immediately or not long afterwards. We really need those new strikers but our hand now is weaker than ever.
blueredswed Posted 31 August 2011 Posted 31 August 2011 I think of you Nugent recover now and come back as soon as you can this means for you not understandings my swedish come back as quick as you can :scarf:
Guest parky0607 Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 When I saw this thread title I thought someone was seriously going to be having a rant about how hes not good enough
Messi Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Still in the same position as we were tho, one striker up there running his heart out. Please get well soon Dave.
accessory Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Happy for Vassell or Schlupp to share striking duties with Beckford unti Nugent returns.
Corky Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Nugent and Beckford up front sounds good. Hope he's back soon as.
MGLCFC Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 When Nugent is fit it could push Sven back to 4 3 3, with Nugent Left, Vassell Right and Beckford down the middle!
Austin Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Hope he's fit again soon, him and Beckford up top could be leathal!
cc_star Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Sven on Nugent injury: "It's disappointing, but it looks like he'll be out for four or five weeks." FECK!!!
Ric Flair Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 That's not good news, but i'm confident Beckford will do well with Vassell and Schlupp. I'm keen for Jeffrey to get as much playing time as possible and to stake a claim before further recruits come in throughout the season.
Fox 4 Life Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Pretty sure Sven will look to a loan striker when the window opens. Gutted about Nuge though he looked awesome in the first few games
