Beckford Signs.

Great signing. I think he will be Leicester City's bargain buy of the next few seasons.

Has speed,Strength and can score goals for fun.

10 goals in the prem is good considering the highest was Berbatov/Tevez on 20 goals and they are £30 mil strikers.

Let him settle in and back him all the way and you will love him.

As a lifelong Wealdstone fan I'm very happy about this. Must be the first player to represent my two favourite teams

If he scores half as many goals for Leicester as he did for the Stones I'll be even happier

Edit: I see he only scored 54 for Wealdstone, but in 82 games. Maybe I should have said "I hope he scores at the same ratio"

Woke up this morning with fear thinking a hitch had happened as when i went to bed, there was no confirmation on the OS.

I have now seen there is. :D

Fantastic signing, and great work by Sven and the board.

I'll be the first to admit that I thought we were wasting our time with this tone as I couldn't see Beckford coming here, and I kept hammering that home on here. I'm delighted to be proved wrong!

We've got everything we need now to push up the table.

Really pleased with this. I prefer him over maynard any day. Back this guy, stroke his ego and he'll be an absolute goal machine for us!

Looking forward to Hargreaves on 8 week 'get fit loan' from his 'son' at man city! ..... You never know.

Very positive today!

Happy days! Arguably a more proven striker (not necessarily at this level but in the prem) than Maynard and much cheaper! Him and Nuge will hopefully start banging them in!

twats for saying his signed. some of you think you are important when you have breaking news that someone has signed. your not you are like the rest of us and don.t believe anything that gets put on social networks because they are full of crap wait till it is confirmed properly before putting it on in the future

^FAIL^

I prefer Maynard but both are great players and Beckford has proved himself at a higher level. When you take in to account the amount we've paid I think we've got an absolute bargain here.

I'm happy we have such a fantastic goal scorer at the club. He wasn't my first choice. Nothing to do with footballing ability, just his ability to gel with the rest of the squad and staff. To be let go for 3 million from a Prem club who we know have some financial issues, smacks to me of the manager being happy to see the back of him. Becks is certainly a character and I welcome him to the club and can't wait to see him score goals. There is a 'but' though, my gut feeling about this lad is that he causes unrest in the dressing room. He begins with an opening line of 'pressure is felt by weak people' - hmmm, brace yourself for many more 'interesting' remarks. For me, this lad needs to prove more off the pitch than on it.

Sorry to be a stick in the mud, just thought I'd set my stall out early as I did in the transfer speculation threads about JB.

Exactly the sort of thing I want players to be saying.

The guy is brazen, confident and arrogant, everything you want in a striker. :chant:

In a sixteen year old yeah, seasoned professional?

Not sure about that.

This isn't a 'Let's get on the back of Beckford' attitude, I just remember Dennis Wise, that's all.

Never really 'fancied' him, pretty much for the reasons you state.

Still, open mind and all that, c'mon Becks........:scarf: :scarf:

Now uncle Svennis, dive into the loan window and get us a wide man, or two.........;)

if you have a spare few minutes and are really bored (like i am at work) read back through some of the beckford thread in the transfer section, some classic tweets from a lot of usually reliable sources and there is a few people in the forum now that now should probably change there under crackers!! I think this is a major +1 for Sven getting a player like beckford for less than 5 mill (if reports are correct) is a steal with teams knowing how much cash we have got is a great bit of business bravo over Sven bravo! :sge:

Why not? So long as he has the desire to win things I don't see why he shouldn't compliment the team whether he's a bit of a loner or not. For me we've had too many conformists and not enough people who sing to their own tune.

People like Schmiechel who genuinely hurts when things go wrong and lets people know about it, like Walshie used too. People who believe in themselves whatever and people like Roy Keane who will say what they think instead of just what people want to hear.

You need that attitude in a club whether it's comfortable or not. Look at the likes Cantona or Tevez, irrepressible people who have their views but that doesn't stop them being effective on a football field and you'll find such individuals in most good teams.

Eighty goals in 144 games for Championship clubs is the sort of input we've been desperate for and, with Nugent, Schlupp and Vassell all capable of adding movement then surely we can create goals for fun whether the bloke would win a popularity contest or not.

Spot on! :appl:

Football clubs need characters and we've certainly got one in Beckford!

I don't like Rooney's arrogance, but no one can deny his ability to win games and as long as Beckford is banging the goals in I'm sure he'll be happy and very popular with the Leicester faithful. It's a bit like Savage, if he's yours you love him, if not you hate him.

Sorry I tend not to post on forums due to the general shit which develops, however this is a great signing for us! From speaking to several Evertonians they couldnt care less about losing Yakubu to Blackburn but are 100% Gutted about this transfer. Good Sign for us!!! :scarf:

He is without a doubt the best striker we could have got, I am so pleased well done :sge: and the Thais for making this happen, expect him to score goals at this level with ease :scarf:

Tell me, the 'general shit that develops' is it people asking questions like "How did you do a survey of Evertonian fans by speaking with 'several of them since last night' or did you just go here and read the comment that I read earlier and embellish it slightly?"

RD - great business. Good player.

Yak - still not confirmed.

Becks - gutted about it to be honest.

Arteta - good business, shit timing.

DS - who?
