phildw Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 What's with goal 2 in first clip!! That's shit?!!
foxsake Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Abe & Beckford? So Crncic would be Abeckford? If he trains hard anything possible. That's if he exists at all. Given that mathematics is an abstract concept, perhaps Crncic is too?
Ric Flair Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 What's with goal 2 in first clip!! That's shit?!! It's the goal that promoted tham back to The Championship.
Simmsy Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 What's with goal 2 in first clip!! That's shit?!! It's the goal that sealed their promotion to the championship.
Jimbo Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Anyone come up with a song for him yet?! I put this in the new chants thread, it needs some work, I'm not know for my song writing skils, but it's a start He used to work for RAC Beckford, Beckford We hated him at Dirty Leeds Beckford, Beckford Sven he searched from high to low And now he's here to run the show Jermiane Beckford, Leicester's <insert number> Na na na na na na etc (repeat to fade)
beemeroo Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Why not? So long as he has the desire to win things I don't see why he shouldn't compliment the team whether he's a bit of a loner or not. For me we've had too many conformists and not enough people who sing to their own tune. People like Schmiechel who genuinely hurts when things go wrong and lets people know about it, like Walshie used too. People who believe in themselves whatever and people like Roy Keane who will say what they think instead of just what people want to hear. You need that attitude in a club whether it's comfortable or not. Look at the likes Cantona or Tevez, irrepressible people who have their views but that doesn't stop them being effective on a football field and you'll find such individuals in most good teams. Eighty goals in 144 games for Championship clubs is the sort of input we've been desperate for and, with Nugent, Schlupp and Vassell all capable of adding movement then surely we can create goals for fun whether the bloke would win a popularity contest or not. My post was genuine, not sarcasm. That's exactly the attitude I want a footballer to have.
Petchy Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I put this in the new chants thread, it needs some work, I'm not know for my song writing skils, but it's a start He used to work for RAC Beckford, Beckford We hated him at Dirty Leeds Beckford, Beckford Svennis searched from high to low And now he's here to run the show Jermaine Beckford, Leicester's <insert number> Na na na na na na etc (repeat to fade) That's the only change I'd make, otherwise brilliant effort!
Joethemightyone Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 'Theres only oneeeee Jermaine Beckford' Is that a good one?
Chazwaz Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 This was the one I wanted, so ecstatic!! Edit: Love it in the interview when he says ''There is no pressure, weak people feel pressure.''

Austin Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 My link Beckford: Move was difficult to turn down Jermaine Beckford has revealed he signed for Leicester because of the club`s huge potential. The 27-year-old striker left Everton to drop down to the Championship, signing a four-year contract at the King Power Stadium. Beckford believes Leicester is a club in the ascendancy which is capable of gaining promotion to the Premier League by winning the Championship title. "The size of the club attracted me as well as the manager and what he wants to achieve here at Leicester and I see the club going places. We will go for the title," Beckford told the club`s official website. "It was very difficult to turn it down and it will be very exciting to work with Sven-Goran Eriksson. I can't wait to get started." Eriksson insists Beckford`s arrival is a signal of intent and said: "The message that is loud and clear is that a Premier League footballer of Jermaine`s undoubted talent is keen to join us. "This says a great deal about the ambition of Leicester City and the desire of everyone here to achieve success."
Chazwaz Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I like it how he says we are going for the title rather than just promotion, really shows determination.
Thracian Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 If he shows his 'arrogance' and his 'passion' on the field then he could be a top signing at this level. If he starts to upset things off the field then he could be another DJ Campbell.... I hope we see the former not the latter The Leeds fans apparently never really took him to their hearts because of his off the field antics I hope he's matured and has come to Leicester because he wants to get promotion with us DJ was never given a proper chance at Leicester and, like Gradel, provided an example of how we wasted talent at this club because not everyone would fit into a convenient box. "Schoolmaster" Wilkinson couldn't get on with Cantona at Leeds either, and we all know what happened after that. Even Ferguson ignored his own rules for Cantona and that kind of judgement is what can make the difference between greatness and indifference. Before that rules were bent for Best, Bowles, Rodney Marsh, Osgood, Collymore, Frank Worthington, McGrath, Brian Robson and endless other characters who won things or put bums on seats with their brilliance. It's hard to imagine what Wilkinson might have done with Revie's team. Transferred the lot, I imagine. Arrogance isn't rare in top sportsmen, film stars, indeed achievers in any field. It may be better disguised by some but people who get to be the best first believe that that's where they belong and then show the desire to prove it. If Beckford's arrogant I hope he shows us all exactly why and if he inspires other people to be just as self-believing that will be a bonus. Don't get me wrong. I've nothing against modesty and humility. I just don't believe people should have to fit in boxes of any sort and have an inbuilt loathing of any word that ends in ist, as in conformist! :whistle.
Ashley Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Anyone want to bet with me now, read below At one point this season Kasper Schmeichel's kicks either off the ground or out his hands will miss the opposition defenders, Beckford with his blistering pace will get on the end of it and score. Boom! That's how we roll
Corky Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Very pleased with this, wasn't his biggest fan at Leeds (thought he was something of a flat-track bully) but had a very solid first season at the top level last year. Beckford and Nugent could well forge a fruitful partnership.
Toffee_Fox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Ignore all the hype about his attitude, he was a lovely lad, knew him well.
MrSpaM Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 I think a lot of the speculation about his arrogence and stuff might just be down to the fact that he has a knack of getting on the opponents and there fans nerves. He's the kind of player that will get the opposition making mistakes, which is exactly what we need. I for one am glad we got Beckford and not Maynard, i also think the vast majority of city fans would have taken Beckford over Maynard if we knew it was a possibility anyway. Good signing
kyle09uk Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Could well be a very shrewd bit of business From sveni boy! Can anyone tell me what leeds and everton Fans have to say about this... Am I alright To gloat?
Fox 4 Life Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 With the news that Nugent is out 4-5 weeks this is even more of a key signing
Toffee_Fox Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Could well be a very shrewd bit of business From sveni boy! Can anyone tell me what leeds and everton Fans have to say about this... Am I alright To gloat? If you have to
BlueSi13 Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 Some Everton fans ringing up Talksport today saying that he isn't a loss at all for them and that he was never a Premier League player. Bit harsh i thought considering his scoring record and his leap from League 1.

Houdini Logic Posted 1 September 2011 Posted 1 September 2011 DJ was never given a proper chance at Leicester This has to be the funniest thing I've read in a while...
