SuperScout Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 The Thais are saying 10 points minimum, not around 10 points, 10 points minimum, so its simple he has to win his next 2 games or he's gone.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 I wanted 5 points from Boro, Cardiff and Derby . We could get it, could even win at Boro we usually do well there.
MC Prussian Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 According to a source he needs to achieve 10 points between Barnsley and Derby, else he's gone, so far he has 5 so if that source is correct, which I believe there must be some truth to it, he needs to have achieved 5 more points after Derby on Saturday. So basically, what you're saying is that you're quoting a source you can't name and can't trust. Which translates as "bla bla bla, bla bla bla bla bla". Are you the one with that fancy Scouting List that you sent to Sven during the Summer break by any chance? Ah yes, another candidate for "Best Ignored User of the Year 2011" award.
panky and our gang Posted 26 September 2011 Posted 26 September 2011 Well said MC , that super scout has got more rattle than a piss pot full of marbles . :crylaugh: :crylaugh:

cc_star Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 I'm no cheerleader for Uncle Svennis I think his past success (which was a different era in football terms) was bought & he under-achieved with the best England players in a generation & since then he's done very little other than collect pay-cheques I still have reservations about whether he's right for the club I've supported for over 30 years his propensity for placing square pegs in round holes has followed him since sticking Englands best goal-scoring midfielder, Scholes, on the left & persisting with the unworkable combo of Lamps & Gerrard, bringing that up to date is playing Danns on the right & King spearheading a diamond. Along with team-selection questions he sometimes looks tactically inept when tinkering with our formation or the new tactic of never crossing or shoot & copying the "won **** all" Arsenal of trying to walk the ball into the back of the net forgetting that Arsenal do this with an abundance of pace whereas we have 9 out-fielders who are methodical one-paced players. There are also questionable transfer dealings, typified by Matt Mills for £5m with the remarkably similar-skilled Hobbs leaving for £800k ALL OF THESE RESERVATIONS ASIDE, there has been improvement & signs that we're moving in the right direction, with some handy results against quality sides like S'ton, B'ton & away at Cardiff & don't forget Derby who could have gone top only got a draw out of Barnsley. So my initial comments in this thread of the Derby game potentially being his last thanks to a replacement needing the international break to get to know the players, I still stand-by but it looks like Sven has done WAY more than enough for that not to be an issue. I see some people are saying have a look again in Jan but as far as I'm concerned once this international break is done, that's it. Sven, regardless of results should see out the remainder of his contract until the end of the season & if he's doing well negotiate an extension & if not put out the feelers for the vacancy. I'm sure the upward curve will continue & in the interim although not perfect Sven has done enough for talk of his future to not be an issue. /end as far as I'm concerned.

Sven did it back in '79. By the way, Mills is better than Hobbs, more dominating and vocal.
Master Fox Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 4-4-2 is the only formation people with very little football knowledge seem to understand. The concept of playing a different formation is very difficult for an English person used to crap football to comprehend. Line it, cross, stick it in the mixer tactics. Never failed you playing under 11's in 1978 with the big No.9 upfront who was actually 18 years old. Got his head on eveything that kid did. Blinding.

Bugg Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Why do people have to say how many years they've supported the club for? It doesn't make you any better of a fan or give you the entitlement that your opinions are better than that of a younger fan.
Walshy5 Posted 28 September 2011 Posted 28 September 2011 Cant achieve his points target now even if we beat the sheep. Bye bye sven
