MC Prussian Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 http://www.mirrorfoo...icle798540.html Limp Leicester's owners turn up the pressure on Sven Published 20:59 13/09/11 By John Percy Sven Goran Eriksson is scrapping to save his job at Leicester and now faces five crunch games to avoid the sack. Eriksson is already under serious pressure after just six weeks of the season and Leicester's Thai owners are understood to be growing increasingly concerned after an underwhelming start to a campaign they hoped would end in promotion to the Premier League. The former England coach forked out over £12million in the summer, but the Championship's title favourites have only picked up two league victories so far this term. Eriksson is certain to face the sack if he fails to mastermind a revival this month, after being told that missing out on promotion will be "a big failure". Foxes chairman Vichai Raksriaksorn's son, Apichet, said: "I expect us to challenge for the Championship title and be in the Premier League next season. "If we can't get up to the top tier soon, at least within the next few seasons, we will view that as a big failure. "For me, it will be very disappointing if it doesn't happen this season." Eriksson faces Championship pace-setters Brighton this weekend before back-to-back visits, in the Carling Cup and Championship, to Cardiff. Leicester then play Middlesbrough and local rivals Derby, and Eriksson urgently needs an improvement to avoid a grisly end at the King Power Stadium. The Swede was given substantial funds this summer to embark on the kind of recruitment drive never before seen in the Championship, with Jermaine Beckford's arrival from Everton on deadline day the club's 12th close-season signing. If Eriksson can get the Foxes firing, he has been promised even more cash to spend in the New Year. Raksriaksorn added: "Sven has all the say on what and who he wants. "He has assembled a strong squad. However, if he feels he needs to add to it, we will back him during the next transfer window with whatever funds and resources he needs. "Sven has signed some quality players and I still believe it will be a successful and exciting season." Oh, right!! It's the Mirror again!! Surprise, surprise! Quality, independent journalism quoting its dubious sources in every article they post. Right. I think it's about time Mark starts demanding royalties for the amount of "information" those co-called journos have nicked off FT.

ithuriel Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Asked my brother who has worked down at the KP since the first season we moved there, will not say where etc., but it is mostly match days and he knows a fair few peeps down there, if he had heard anything and not paper talk. He told me he had heard, yes the club has contacted MO and that he would be willing to manage the club but not whilst Sven is in charge in any way That Sven has to win the next two home games, or i might have got that wrong and it is the next two games That if things do improve he has to be in the top two around Xmas time. Whether that is just rumour running rampant or factual remains to be seen. Hopefully we will go on a winning run and we will never know either way

Hopefully we will go on a winning run and we will never know either way This seemingly sounds like the same scenario when Sousa was at the playoffs with NP still in charge, the pressure on Sven to deliver is extremely high, don't believe what he tells you on the radio, deep down he knows he has to get results, hope he does.
Sooper Steve's shin Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Schmeichel Paintsil Mills Bamba Konchesky Danns Wellens King Gallagher Nugent Beckford On paper, why should we be worried? The majority of that XI that would probably get into most current Championship sides. I don't think we're especially lacking in spirit or togetherness (the picture on the pitch seems quite the opposite). It really seems a matter of settling down to me. Seven of that team are new since last season, it is understandable that players take a little time to adapt. We have a massive I-want-it-now culture, not just at Leicester or football in general. I think it's a generational thing. In an ideal (realistic) world, you'd look for a solid season of bedding down a completely overhauled team before going for a tilt at promotion - but, then again, where's the fun in that? I can see the other side, that this is a sport and different from business. Fans wouldn't pay money for a season tickets if the pre-season hype was about "bedding down". Ultimately, everyone plays their part in raising expectations much more than is reasonable - the fans, the new signings, the owners. In fact, the most level-headed and realistic person of the lot is probably Sven - and his neck's on the line! Funny old game.
accessory Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Sven didn't seem very "level-headed" when he was putting in bids here, there and everywhere during the transfer window to sign a striker.
21st Century Fox Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Sven didn't seem very "level-headed" when he was putting in bids here, there and everywhere during the transfer window to sign a striker. And how much was that to scare Bristol into driving Maynard's price down and how much of that was Andrew Neville. But yeah why not blame Sven.
sphericalfox Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Sven didn't seem very "level-headed" when he was putting in bids here, there and everywhere during the transfer window to sign a striker. Sven didn't have anything to do with the bid element of the transfers. Sven just said I want...go get. Go blame Neville if you must put blame on someone. Your blameometer is stuck on Sven, maybe it needs new batteries.

Babylon Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Sven didn't seem very "level-headed" when he was putting in bids here, there and everywhere during the transfer window to sign a striker. What do you suggest he does? Put in a bid, have it turned down and then give up his search completely maybe? If you are going to moan at the bloke at least make it something that's not completely stupid.

We was reported to have bid on anyone with two feet. Lets be real some of it was pure shite.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 14 September 2011 Posted 14 September 2011 Thanks for the ad hominem spherical; the situation may not be 'parallel' but the personification of tactical masterclass that is Sven will continue to erode your blind faith in him to the point where you too will be calling for his head. Oh dear, a somewhat puerile and rather mediocre attempt, to placate your fellow blinkered posters, while at the same time patronising "Spherical".. I am convinced your egoistic mall thoughts, are nothing but spurious personifications of a tribal warped mind.. Are you a complete moronic, biased anti Sven, insignificant, puffed up self important, biased ,ignorant, windbag? Methinks you are. Oh yes, I believe in Sven. Simplistic, but true, my sad pleb. Time to jump up on your hobby horse, and scream for your Nanny. Boo hoo.

SuperScout Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 So far he has 5, that means he needs at least another 5, you can't get 5 points from 2 games, therefore he has to go to The Riverside on Wednesday and get 3 points and repeat the same fate in the East Midlands Darby on Saturday, therefore Wednesday could well be his last game in charge of our beloved Foxes, if he fails to achieve anything less than a win .
lovelcfc Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 this is complete shit he obv isnt gonna get the sack were improving all the time beat the table toppers on saturday and got a very good point today IN SVEN WE TRUST
SuperScout Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 According to a source he needs to achieve 10 points between Barnsley and Derby, else he's gone, so far he has 5 so if that source is correct, which I believe there must be some truth to it, he needs to have achieved 5 more points after Derby on Saturday.
Number 6 Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 So a draw away at Boro and a win at home to Derby would see him sacked? Not a chance.
