MC Prussian Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 ... for about a month: Ankle Injury Sidelines Gallagher Posted on: Tue 13 Sep 2011 City forward Paul Gallagher is likely to be sidelined for at least three weeks, after suffering an ankle injury in Saturday's draw at Barnsley. Gallagher was replaced at half-time at Oakwell, after sustaining the injury during the first half. Subsequent scans and further diagnosis have revealed ankle ligament damage, with an expected rehabilitation period of three-to-five weeks. http://www.lcfc.com/...2450001,00.html Great. Rather mediocre start to the season, and one after the other has injury troubles. Oh well, there goes another striker.
Wymsey Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Possibly means Dyers' back into the fold.. Or get someone in via loan system. (Still open? ) Big blow with tough games coming up anyhow.
RizLCFC Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Disappointing but then again it gives Dyer and King a chance, and on Gallys current form maybe the injury could be a blessing in disguise for us, not saying i'm happy he's injured
MC Prussian Posted 13 September 2011 Author Posted 13 September 2011 At least there's no excuse not to nominate another striker on the bench now. Who will it be? Howard or Schlupp?
ajthefox Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 I wondered why Sven took Gally off at the end of the half, turns out it was because he was injured and not because he was shit. Shame that, I thought Sven might have seen some sense. Hopefully Gally being injured will give someone who isn't a sven favourite a solid chance in the team for once.
Fox92 Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Don't like to see any player injured, LCFC or not LCFC, but I can't say I'm sad. The man is a waste of a first team place. No effort, no tackling; its like we're playing with 10 men sometimes.
Kitchandro Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Hopefully we'll just start with the same team as we did in the second half. It's no great loss as he's so out of form. Beckford limped off is there any news on him?

Beckford limped off is there any news on him? Sven said it was a minor knock after getting kicked about all game. He'll be fit on Saturday.

dannythefox Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Don't want anyone to get injured but hopefully Kingy will get a run in the starting 11 and bang couple more goals in now!
Legend_in_blue Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Hopefully this forces Sven into using the 4-4-2 diamond which is the best use of the players he currently has at his disposal. Imo the midfield picks itself and it's Beckford and Vassell up front. Bring on Schlupp for impact 60 minutes in if needed. Oh, and sort out the defence Sven!
The Year Of The Fox Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Don't like to see any player injured, LCFC or not LCFC, but I can't say I'm sad. The man is a waste of a first team place. No effort, no tackling; its like we're playing with 10 men sometimes. Started the same last season. By far our worst player, up til Xmas time, then he was pretty much undroppable after that.
Fox92 Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Started the same last season. By far our worst player, up til Xmas time, then he was pretty much undroppable after that. Another reason I wouldn't start him then. He is inconsistant (hence why Blackburn sold him), lacks pace, lacks commitment and doesn't tackle.
dimmerchant Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 King offered so much more when he came on against Barnsley. He actually wants the ball and is happy to put himself about to get it. He'll also make runs instead of moaning like a little b1tch when he doesn't get it into feet. Gallagher's feminine heading and tackling do my head in sometimes. He needs a large glass of man the fvck up.
Merchant Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Is Gally the new scapegoat? He's always been lacking in the bravery department and been slow on the ball, why is this becoming an issue now?
Fox92 Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Is Gally the new scapegoat? He's always been lacking in the bravery department and been slow on the ball, why is this becoming an issue now? No, all the players are. Its not becoming an issue now, its always been an issue with me. I haven't rated him for a long time. He is technically gifted, but lacks everywhere else. He shows no effort at all.
Corky Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Another reason I wouldn't start him then. He is inconsistant (hence why Blackburn sold him), lacks pace, lacks commitment and doesn't tackle. Virtually the whole squad is. It's not nice to see a player injured, but it could've been worse for him, he took a serious knock on the advertising boards. King in for him on Saturday.
ScouseFox Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Gallagher was brilliant from Leeds at home onwards last season. And he showed flashes of brilliance before that too. He's yet to start properly this season, but if he regains the form he had for the most part of last season he'll have a place in my team.

He's not a bad player at all, he's just very out of form.
Guest Col city fan Posted 13 September 2011 Posted 13 September 2011 Its always a shame to see a player injured.. any player... but Gally is no loss to this team at the moment. Apart from the odd nice pass he's lightweight. Thought that last season, think it this Hopefully Dyer might get some action now..although knowing Sven he'll prob play Abe right wing, or some similar bizzareness
