iancognito Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 It's good that they're trying new things but Switchblade Smiles, Days Are Forgotten, Rewired & Velociraptor are about the only highlights for me. Slight let down after a lot of hype
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 It's good that they're trying new things but Switchblade Smiles, Days Are Forgotten, Rewired & Velociraptor are about the only highlights for me. Slight let down after a lot of hype It's so strange how some people's highlights are other's lows. Personally think the two singles, along with the title track, are the worst of the bunch. The more I listen to it the more I like it.
Babylon Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 Goodbye Kiss is fantastic, I get a 60's/70's love song vibe from it.
Narborough_fox Posted 16 September 2011 Posted 16 September 2011 It's outstanding. Not as good WRPLA but still an outstanding album.
wellsy Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Buzzing for this. Watching them in December for the 2nd time, anyone else going?
Joe. Posted 17 September 2011 Posted 17 September 2011 Album starts off a bit slow for me, but there are some belters towards the end. I Hear Voices, Rewired and Switchblade Smile my personal favourites - all in the second half of the album.
Finchy Posted 18 September 2011 Posted 18 September 2011 Goodbye Kiss is fantastic, I get a 60's/70's love song vibe from it. Agreed, one of the best songs they've ever done IMO.
goose2010 Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 i like it - although it is a different sound compared to thier older stuff. The start of the album could be anyone really its very 'modern day' sounded with a hint of a kinks/beatles/vaccines As the album goes on there are some cracking songs though. I would say 7/10 but for me they will never do a better album that their first.
ScouseFox Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I like it, I think. Gets better with each listen, for sure.
David Guiza Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Decent album, really like Goodbye Kiss and I Hear Voices in particular. Not sure if it's as complete of album as WRPLA.
VinceNoir Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 I've listened to it for a week now and it's brilliant. I used to hate Goodbye Kiss (as I mentioned in the other thread) but now it's probably my 2nd favourite track on the album. Amazing album.
Sparky Posted 19 September 2011 Posted 19 September 2011 Lets roll like we used to and Goodbye Kiss are my favourite 2 at the minute. i need 4 or 5 listens before i can give a honest verdict though
Matt Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 Liked it from the first listen but wasn't blown away by it, but the more I listen the better it gets.
Trav Le Bleu Posted 23 September 2011 Posted 23 September 2011 Available on Amazon downloads for £3.99 until Sunday.
ousefox Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Goodbye Kiss is fantastic, I get a 60's/70's love song vibe from it. Agreed, fantastic song, probably my favourite kasabian song now.
Petchy Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 It's a good album, but takes a few listens to appreciate it! Think my favourite songs so far are 'La Fee Verte' and 'I Hear Voices'.
orangecity23 Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Been listening to it a bunch of times over the last 2 days. I don't think that there is any track on there that is weak really. Let's Roll Like We Used To is a cracking opener, Days are Forgotten is probably my favourite track so far, and Goodbye Kiss gets better with every listen. Velociraptor has got to be the silliest song they've ever done, but **** me is it catchy. Cannot stop singing it . Should be good for some epic shape throwing when they play it live.
The Doctor Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Velociraptor (track) seems to be just a more ridiculous version of Vlad The Impaler from WRPLA. Still not keen on Neon Noon, much like happiness it's a disappointing ending to an otherwise very good album.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 September 2011 Posted 24 September 2011 Said it before, Re-Wired is as good as they've ever done. I think it's a great album, at least they're trying new things.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 September 2011 Posted 25 September 2011 Had listened to a few tracks but finally got round to listening to it in full. I normally think Kasabian albums grow on you and aren't great first time round.........but this hits the mark with me first listen. Cracking Album.
