Corky Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 This Schmeichel and Bamba were the only ones showing any fight or willingness today, the rest just decided they could turn up and win. Never left a game as early as I did today but really it was that poor. The fact we're only 2 points off the play offs says far more about the lack of quality in the division rather than it does about our squad. I think Konchesky could be added to that, he kept going forward and his delivery was more dangerous than before.
EnderbyFox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Right. Listen. Those who want Sven gone. Look at what happened to Holloway when you hounded him out. He got Blackpool promoted and they had a cracking season. Those that were happy to see Gradel go. Look at how well he is doing. The point is, invest your faith in the players and management for the season. Or at least half of it. Beckford shit? Yes, he's not playing well but he is as good as any other championship striker. Look at the goals he has scored, give him a chance. Sven? Look at his record. Back him. We've wasted money? Who **** hasn't? Chelsea have blown hundreds of millions in pursuit of the Champions League and it hasn't happened. Were you expecting us to actually buy the league? And in any case, it is not your money going to waste, it is the owners. Your job is to support the team and you can't even do that properly because of the constant moaning, self loathing attitude. The King Power is a dead stadium. Nobody makes any noise unless it is to have a go at the players or referee. The fans will generate atmosphere when the players actually give them something to cheer about.
Thracian Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Why the hell do people bang on about wingers? Lots of the best teams in Europe play without out and out wingers. Wingers are not the be-all and end-all answer to our problems. We should have scored a bagful when Lloyd came on. Crosses were running across goals a few yards out with no-one there to addd the finish. Using our full-backs as supplementary wingers was a joke yet again - they just don't have the final pass and they don't pose a goal threat. We hit the bar and got behind them countless times with Dyer on board but we spoiled it all by taking a striker off. Made no tactical sense at all. Why Schlupp seems to have been discarded I don't know but I'd be right pissed off if I were him.

The King Power is a dead stadium. Nobody makes any noise unless it is to have a go at the players or referee. The players need to give us something to make a noise about. At 20-30 quid a ticket, you expect entertainment and I barely left my seat the whole game. I'll always support them but when they waste my money like that I'll frigging well tell them.

Supporting your club shouldn't be about 'entertainment'. It should be about supporting them, full stop. They are giving a bad performance? Encourage them. Don't think that just because you paid your money you are entitled to be entertained. If all you are doing is sitting there making no noise then the only support you have offered is to their wage packet.
ScouseFox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Devoid of literally fvcking everything. No pace. No width. No energy. No movement. No skill. No flair. No penetration. No passion. Nothing. At all. Kill them all.
Bert Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Sven doesn't know his best team or formation. Too bothered about not conceding rather than getting goals. A substitutes bench which was awful. What's Fernandes gonna do when we're 3-0 down? He's the type of player to bring on at 2-0 up. Danns, Schlupp nowhere to be seen, all with something different about their game. You've got this big squad, yet not utilising it. Today was awful. Whenever we were attacking we never had more than 2 players in their box, apart from a corner. Our midfielders passed the ball and then walked back to a position near halfway line. There was no cutting edge, energy enthusiasm. Just slow, dreary keep the ball tactics. Dyer made a big difference when he came on. Along with Nugent he's the only one that can hold his head high. Hopefully he starts next week although I'm sure we'll be back to Fernandes, Abe, Wellens who all do the same thing. Yuki needs a rest. Wellens was pants, St Ledger had a stinker. King needs to sort his first touch because it was dreadful today. Vassell didn't want to move. Peltier did ok, as did Konchesky. Bamba had his worst game for us. We're still lucky to be only two points away, but after today I don't hold out much hope for us adding to our tally of 3 goals scored away from home in the league this season. Something needs to be sorted quickly else we'll fall further behind and face more of a uphill battle than we already are.
Dylan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 I feel absolutely sick watching THAT. It was truly abysmal, and what angered me most was the attitude shown by some of the players: looked very disinterested like they didn't give a toss. Only player I can give credit to that after that weas Nugent, Bamba and Schmeichel. When we were 2-0 and 3-0 down, Schmeichel was much more urgent than many of the on-field players, attempting to speed things up. The system is clearly not working for us... our midfield was missing today. When we are attacking and on the counter, our midfield should be getting forward to help out, but they looked like they couldn't be bothered! Beckford needs to take a ****ing look at himself. Showing no effort, not attempting to win anything in the air, and not chasing anything down at all. Take a leaf out of Nugent's ****ing book. King was again poor. Wellens wasn't much better. Sort the ****ing midfield out, and play a better system. I am sick of us always bottling it when we have the chance to get into the top 6, and I'm starting to lose faith. Games like this have got to be won if we want any chance of going up. Sort it ****ing out.
Simmo86 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 First time I've said this but I have absolutely no faith in SGE to get us promoted. Good sides don't lose against Millwall at home, they don't go 135 minutes against teams in the bottom 4 and not score! We're so bang average at the moment and something needs to change very quickly before we get left behind. We need to start getting more players in dangerous postions, when Peltier broke away in the 1st half we had 2 players in the box how are we expected to score! Scrap the diamond and lets play a formation that gives our attacking players (Johnson, Danns, Dyer, Nugent, Beckford and Schlupp) a chance to affect the game! Won't happen though we'll plod along playing with no tempo while promotion slips away from us! NOT ****ING GOOD ENOUGH!

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Interesting reading some of the comments about Svens team selections and subs. His bench really does show a lack of a plan B. As said already, why bring Fernandes on to help get us back in the game? Where was Howard, where was Schlupp? Poor bench, poor selection, poor tactics.
Dylan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Bring back Powell for manager.... and Kermorgant as our goalscorer.
FrankieADZ Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 awful performance. lack pace in midfield which looked like it would have done the trick against Millwall today...as proven when Dyer came on. Move on...and Oh I'll be avoiding the highlights the week then. <_< great
Dan Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Sven - just go. There, I said it, just fvck off. Inconsistent, embarrassing, too often displaying this. That's the final straw for me, absolute disgrace. I'm absolutely livid.

Al-aLondon-Foxile Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 spot on although some would argue its up to the players to get the fans going but i beleive if we made more noise beacuse its like a ****ing libary it would help the players I'll tell ya what, we pay money to watch that lot of shit right, they get paid more in a week than most of us get in a year. How much motivation do they need. Football is fvcked, cus there's too much money. Those players, in the main, don't give a fvck about playing for city. Yes, when it's good they all love the crowd and kiss the badge etc, but it's all so much shit. Im really starting to turn away, I've lost the faith and losing my love for it all.
Guest ttfn Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 That was a load of shit. The players should be fined half their wages for that - if I turned up for work and put in that sort of unimaginative, half-arsed, sort of shit performance I'd expect to be in serious danger of losing my job.
Number 6 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Most worrying thing for me today was the way we lost. Losing 3-0 at home is one thing, but to do it without putting up a fight is just shocking. No urgency, no desire, no energy. Sven must take the blame for not changing it up and playing to our advantage of having a big squad. Thought King had a poor game, Johnson and Wellens provided no driving force between them. For me the bench was lacking a game changer. Most annoyingly I think we have one in Jeff Schlupp. If Jeff has proved that he can play LB too then I don't know why we don't stick him on the bench.

Encourage them. Don't think that just because you paid your money you are entitled to be entertained. If all you are doing is sitting there making no noise then the only support you have offered is to their wage packet. Really? Football and sport in general is about entertainment. The reason these players demand so much money and bonuses and the like is because they say they are entertaining thousands week in week out and apparently deserve it. And I do think that paying out 30 quid for a seat means I deserve some entertainment. If you told everyone that bought a match ticket or season ticket that they weren't entitled to be entertained, they wouldn't turn up. It's why we pay so much because we are there to be entertained. I've supported this team through thick and thin, up and down the country, and when we've been outplayed by far better sides I've stayed and applauded them off. Ignore the tactics and anything I think of Eriksson, 8 or 9 of those players today were shockingly poor against a team who haven't won in ten games. No effort, no workrate, no desire. If that's their attitude then mine is I'm struggling to think of a reason why I should bother going back.

But money is a cancer on the sport, not any individual club. It all starts with making matches accessible and no club will consistently lower prices to fill the ground unfortunately. We are going into a whole other corridor of discussion though Really? Football and sport in general is about entertainment. The reason these players demand so much money and bonuses and the like is because they say they are entertaining thousands week in week out and apparently deserve it. No. The reason these players demand this money is because their fellow professionals are getting it, and if the club doesn't pay them they will go elsewhere. The club/sport is at fault for this. You cannot blame the players for doing their job. And I do think that paying out 30 quid for a seat means I deserve some entertainment. If you told everyone that bought a match ticket or season ticket that they weren't entitled to be entertained, they wouldn't turn up. It's why we pay so much because we are there to be entertained. I don't agree. This isn't the colliseum. You should go because you want to go and support the team and try to enjoy yourself. Not sit there, nose up, expecting 5 - 0 (generalisation, and i'm not talking about you specifically) every game.
Callabinho Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Couldn't deal with their physical side either. The main reason we lost it for me. Pretty football means Nothing if you can't get stuck in.
philce Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 The players need to give us something to make a noise about. At 20-30 quid a ticket, you expect entertainment and I barely left my seat the whole game. I'll always support them but when they waste my money like that I'll frigging well tell them. The only time I left my seat was about 20 times when the family of "fun" sitting next to us procedeed to leave one at a time for the whole game, after arriving late both at KO and HT, then leaving 10 mins before the end! Then the 10 year old girl had the cheek to have a go at me for pointing out that Wellens is shit, and try to throw her diet coke (no point love) over me from the isle 5 people away! Retards!! It was the only action I saw all game!!!
Bert Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Another inconsistent ref. Gave a foul on their keeper yet when it happened to Kasper, nothing. How we didn't get a penalty as well, dear me. Assistants were spot on today though, so fair play to them.
Leicester Boy 46 Posted 22 October 2011 Posted 22 October 2011 Football teams have high points and low points. Fact! On average a normal club like Leicester will get 1.3 points a game. During a low point this will drop to 1. A high point inevitably follows a low point so sacking a manager will make little difference. Another fact: a team's league position is relative to its wage bill and not to its spending on transfers. Therefore you are better off improving your best players contracts and keeping the manager than getting a new manager and blowing countless amouts on new player who will need time to gel, etc... Thirdly, as a long distance fan (France) i am unable to see many games live but it seems to me that we performed (result wise) better under Pearson with Fryatt, Hobbs and co than now despite having spent millions! I may be wrong of course and what i am saying will probably sound like absolute bullsh*t to many of you but I'm repeating what I've been told. Also, does Sven alone decide on who Leicester buy or is it a crowd of people like at Lyon in France? ps: please don't take the piss just started this
