Charl91 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Well if you don't like the appreciation thread, dont post in it.
MC Prussian Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Well it is true, isn't it? If the employees do not perform, who gets the stick? The employee's? Generally it is the person managing them. Just face the fact Sven wasn't good enough ffs. I am my own manager. It figures.
topharry123 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Sad to see him go thanks for an exciting year Sven !!
jonthefox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Thanks for the three matches against Derby, Sven. Thanks for the three matches against Derby, Sven.
z-layrex Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I still remember seeing a thread titled 'it's Sven' on here and my heart skipping a beat. ... no homo.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Cheers for your effort Svennicus :sge: :sweden:
maynefox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 "Well aaa...." :sge: Not happy at this decision, think he really did love his time at the club, were back to square 1 again Most of the players were a bunch of lazy so so's...they must take partial blame for what has happened. I shall miss his comedy waves like at Barnsley away last season......ah good times
Fox1994 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Terrible decision. sven should not have been sacked.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 But he won a couple of trophies in the 90s so he must be good................ Least we wont eb hearing that arguement again. Just look what he has achieved in the last ten years. England - Best set of players in a long long time and we under acheieve in three tournaments under him. Mainly because tactically he was questionable. Started off well under him and never really reached the heights we should have done. Had no plan B in games (e.g. Etiher of the Portugal games or Brazil in 2002). Man City - Starts off well, gets them to top 4 around New Year and beats Utd home and away. Have a shit second half of the season and finish mid table. City fans said he had no plan B. Mexico - Fans thought he was very poor and he doesnt last long at all. Icory Coast - Average in the WC. Leicester - Starts off well, but brings in too many of his players who are no better than what he had previously. Gets us to top 7 before being found out tactically, and then not changing it around, making us struggle. Once again, no plan B. And once again, picked his favourite players too often ahead of others e.g. Vassell. Spends millions without really knowing how to set up a squad to get us out of this league, and ultimately failed. Again. I quite like Sven, but he was never going to get us up, and quite frankly is nothing more than a con man, with a myth of a repuitation.
Foxy Bingo Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Genuinely gutted. He sounded so upset on Radio Leicester. All the best for the future Sven :sge:
The Sven Revolution Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Top Manager and TOP really did him bad with this. 2 points of PO, can go above West Ham on Sat and you sack him. Great manager Great man, will go onto bigger things in football. Its our loss. He actually cared about this project!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Top Manager and TOP really did him bad with this. 2 points of PO, can go above West Ham on Sat and you sack him. Great manager Great man, will go onto bigger things in football. Its our loss. He actually cared about this project! Since when did finishing in the Playoffs become acceptable? And we cant go above West Ham on Saturday. I think it will give everyone a lift for West Ham, really thought we would lose 3/4-0.
Captain... Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 The most ridiculous knee jerk sacking of a manager I can recall. 3 games ago we are unbeaten in x, on a run of clean sheets and all was looking well. We've had a blip where luck hasn't been with us (ok we didn't play great either but unlucky key events turned the games) and then arguably one of the highest profile managers in the world gets the sack having spent a whole load of money on very decent players (many of whom may not have signed were he not at the helm). New Manager, will want new players when what we need is stability - to make a team out of the very decent players we have got and it was starting to happen - maybe a little 2 steps forward, one step back but slowly the very talented individuals he signed were becoming a team. I judge Sven from the start of this season and having bought a whole new team, I think we are in a bloody good position at this stage against teams that have played together for years bar minor changes. As the season progresses, the size of our squad would have come into it's own as other teams struggle with injuries etc whilst we continue to gel and get better Not now, new manager = new ideas, new formation , new favorites , new starting 11 for x games until the best one is determined, new loanees no doubt, playing with another manager's team. it's a vicious effin circle and I for one am completely fed up ! Good luck Sven! Thanks for everything! I didn't agree with everything you did but I don't have the pedigree, fantastic CV, and experience you have and I apologise for the way you have been treated! All the best - I for one am gutted you have gone! That bit in bold is exactly why he has gone, we need new ideas and a new formation, no favourites, people playing on merit not favouritism. Also if you are going to judge the performances from the start of the season based on him buying a completely new team, you have to ask yourself why he had to buy a completely new team at the start of the season. He dismantled a half decent championship side, replaced it with mercenaries didn't get promoted and so had to buy a new team. If he had worked with what he inherited and built on that solid base making sound purchases rather than teenage loanees I am pretty sure it would be a different situation. I do appreciate what Sven did, and as this is the appreciation thread I say thank you for helping raise our profile and attracting some talent to the club, I'm sorry it didn't work out, but he made a rod for his own back and was afforded a lot more opportunities than some of those players he cast aside. Nice guy? Yes, Footballing mega star? without doubt The highest profile manager we will ever have? We will see The right man to get us out of one of the most difficult/demanding/unpredictable leagues in the world? Sadly not Good luck Sven and good bye.
topharry123 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 England - Best set of players in a long long time and we under acheieve in three tournaments under him. Mainly because tactically he was questionable. Started off well under him and never really reached the heights we should have done. Had no plan B in games (e.g. Etiher of the Portugal games or Brazil in 2002). I've always thought this was junk. His three losses in major tournaments came twice from penalties and once from the eventual winners. He lost 3 competitive matches i believe that weren't on penalties each by no more than a goal. They may have been our best set of players, but i still don't think that they were good enough. England supporters expect to win, but realistically with the exception of 1966 should we ever have done? Alright you can say that maybe in one of them years we should have got past the quarter finals, but there's not much a manager can do about penalties, and i'm sorry but i'm not going to say we should have done better against an excellent Brazil team. All in all, I think he was more successful as England manager than he has ever been given credit for, but English fans just can't get over the fact that we consistently have performed at our world ranking level which puts us in the best 8 teams in the world, not highe r than that.

I agree with all of this but unfortunately many fans on here don't see it this way. I'm as disappointed as anyone but when you've got someone in charge with the experience and pedigree of the man and you put that up against mediocre, at best, opposition in what is a competitve yet lacking in the quality department league, he's fallen well short.

Look at 2 of the games we lost in those finals. Portugal 2004 - Sven shows his tactical masterclass by replacing the injured Rooney with not Emile Heskey which the game was crying out for, but with Darius Vassell. Yes we were unlucky to get to and lose on penalties, but this sub was a pityful. (remided me at Forest when he takes off a knackered Nugent and brings on Paul Gallagher to hold the ball up and win headers when its backs to the wall). Brazil 2002 - Brazil have ten men. We are chasing the game, what does Sven do? Nothing. Just sits there clueless. No plan B being shown yet again.Excellent Brazil yes, eleven men? No. I didnt expect to win a tournament, but it surely cant be argued we should have done better in at least on of the tournaments. A semi final should have been reached at least once. He failed as England manager. Alright in the smaller games, but just like recently, when the pressure is on, he collapses.
Yojoe36 Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I didn't know Sven was trending on Twitter Some guy wrote "So, clearly Sven-Goran Eriksson had trouble getting to grips with the new defensive system on Fifa 12 as well" What a bastard!! -------------------------------------------------- Anyway. I'll miss Sven. Such a shame. Always responded to fans when we chanted his name
Donut Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 Youre appreciating the bloke for no other reason than he is Sven Goran Eriksson.
stourbridgefox Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 I liked Sven when he was with England and I was delighted when he came to Leicester. I'm gutting he has been sacked and I will always wonder what he could've achieved with a full season with his own signings. I wish him all the best in the future and will look out for his next team's results. Bye Sven. It might be a while before we see your like again.
dave the caveman Posted 24 October 2011 Posted 24 October 2011 All you heartbroken fools need to get a grip. He's a conman. He had you all fooled.
