Fez of Mahrez Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 I think we should ban the word "smokescreen". It doesn't mean anything.
Tielemans63 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 I wouldn't be disappointed to see Nige back. TBH I don't think MON was ever really in the running.
Happy Fox Posted 6 November 2011 Author Posted 6 November 2011 http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11714/7295084/Tigers-deny-Pearson-permission Happy fox mon deal dead it was nice why it lasted....!!!! It was nice while it lasted, perhaps in the future I won't get my hopes up
Tielemans63 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 I think we should ban the word "smokescreen". It doesn't mean anything. I was thinking the same. There's a lot of half-baked theories being aired on this forum!
dannythefox Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 I cannot believe the owners have not made there mind up who they want if this is true! Unbelievable!
Cecchini1976 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 They always wanted Pearson. What make's you think the owners have not made their minds up??
Rincewind Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Would MON want the stress involved. Things are different since he was here last. City have owners that not expecting the manager to work on a tight budget so willing to be more flexible for transfer money. So they would expect success and a winning team. Sadly, even though I thought his sacking was a little hasty under Sven the team was not consistant enough. Some of the best years with MON would be forgotten by a section of the fans if City did not acheive promotion instantly and he was sacked. MON biggest asset is his ability to motivate a team. It worked when he was here because of the players. He found it difficult to do at Villa although I think he should have had more time there. I just don't want to see him come back and then have fans on his back if we don't win every game. But he is one of the best around and Fergie may be unavailable.
Rusko187 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Exactly, and my point still remains if we wanted Pearson so badly why didn't we approach them in the last week, we clearly don't it is all a smokescreen MON is the man we want. I think we're clutching at Straws here, why would they go out their way this much to create a smokescreen?
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 That's kind of what I thought but as I've not seen SSN I'm not sure. The problem now in a way is if it is a formal approach and he refuses to resign any manager they appoint runs the risk of looking and feeling like a second choice. In ordinary work it wouldn't because the public wouldn't know or care but in football it would because of all the press speculation. Wasnt NP second choice ?
dannythefox Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 They always wanted Pearson. What make's you think the owners have not made their minds up?? So why not go for him the day after Sven left? Always wanted Pearson bullshit!
Happy Fox Posted 6 November 2011 Author Posted 6 November 2011 So why not go for him the day after Sven left? Always wanted Pearson bullshit! Spot on, they wanted MON but that is not happening now or is it
Cecchini1976 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 My own personal opinion is we waited till today as I don't think Pearson would walk out on Hull when they had 2 games last week & with the international break starting, makes sense
Phube Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 My own personal opinion is we waited till today as I don't think Pearson would walk out on Hull when they had 2 games last week & with the international break starting, makes sense I concur.
Buce Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Why is this report any more valid than the dozens of others over the last fortnight that have quoted 'sources'? If we believed everything we have read recently, we would now have a managerial team of Keegan, Clarke, Hughes, Keane and Pearson. Realistically, I don't think it would have taken two weeks to have identified NP as the man for the job; IMO, the continued delay indicates protracted negotiations with an out of work manager, and I believe that to be MON.
Cecchini1976 Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 I personaly would have loved o'neill to come back,& maybe this could be a way of letting him know it's now or never. But as much as I would love this to happen, sadly it won't. Would love to be proved wrong though
dannythefox Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Spot on, they wanted MON but that is not happening now or is it Not sure if MON will happen but still hoping! It just shows that if its true we don't have anyone lined up, very stupid thing to do by the owners and still if we don't have anyone in a months time demand we get to the premiership this season when we've not had a manager for 4,5,6 games!
reynard Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Wasnt NP second choice ? Frankly who really knows.
dannythefox Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 My own personal opinion is we waited till today as I don't think Pearson would walk out on Hull when they had 2 games last week & with the international break starting, makes sense Oh my god what a load of crap! Whatever your taking I want some!
Rincewind Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 A new manager will be in appointed during the break, which has already started for most teams.. I think this having to approach the club first is a bit of a farce. I know it is correct procedure but we are living in a technical age. It would be quite easy to text a player or manager and work out deals. There is also Email. The board of the club may not always know what is going on. Brian Clough used to meet players in roadside cafes. Email and texts are just an updated version.
toms Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Really gutted that after two weeks the best they can come up with is going back to Pearson. We've messed this whole situation up .(BIG TIME)
Craig Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 Love how some people are slating him just like was the case when he joined first time round... Never learn.
Happy Fox Posted 6 November 2011 Author Posted 6 November 2011 NP just come home I am resigned to you, you are our only hope (after MON)
crisp packet Posted 6 November 2011 Posted 6 November 2011 It was nice while it lasted, perhaps in the future I won't get my hopes up You was keeping all our hopes up mate Let's just make this happen now please ?? Should never have been allowed to leave in the first place!!!
