muzzy1981 Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 What? I wouldn't mind him but he's never perfect he's never played in the league or managed in it. We need someone with championship experience! Here here, key point here is that he hasn't even played at a lower level. Needs to be a manager who has taken a team up and kept them up. Jewell & curbishley for me, last time round, we missed out on warnock, Lambert and mowbray in the past let's get the formula right this time

Happy Fox Posted 30 October 2011 Author Posted 30 October 2011 Hughes or whoever the manager is needs time, no point sacking him come the end of the season if we don't get promoted, this season is not over yet. UTF
Webbo Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Why does a manager have to have experience in this division? Football is football. It's still 11v11, the rules are the same all over the world. Sven's fault (I'm guessing) was that he was too soft with the players and the squad was too big. We might be struggling to make the top 2 now but with a bit of discipline and motivation this squad can make the play offs easily.

Happy Fox Posted 30 October 2011 Author Posted 30 October 2011 Tbf to the owners they didn't sack Sven last season when we finished well out of the top 6. But will they come the end of the season if we fail to reach the playoffs as a minimum?. I imagine they want us still to get promoted this season automatically or is that wishful thinking on my part.
Guest Col city fan Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Hughes or whoever the manager is needs time, no point sacking him come the end of the season if we don't get promoted, this season is not over yet. UTF This.. If we get the right bloke in soon to whip this squad into shape, the season is far from over... There's loadsa games left to climb up that table and, with the exception of the top two, no team is standing out in any way shape or form. This squad does not have bad players in it... They need the correct calibre of boss to control them, to motivate them, to get them playing as a co-ordinated unit. The problem of course is that this may take a bit of time... Or it may be that they respond to a fresh approach immediately and hit the ground running. Get this right soon and I'm more than confident of this team being promoted...

So it wasn't his fault for not playing 4-4-2? the only way to get out this league is to play that formation. Football is football if only it was that easy! If we get someone that thinks the same as Sven were Fvcked again! EVERY team that goes up play 4-4-2.

I still feel we can go up automatically but it will be a push the new manager would need roughly 21 wins from 31 games. (near on impossible but you never know)

Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 They did and with wingers/wide men! No they didn't. They all played 4-3-3 type formations which Sven played for most of last season. QPR played Taarabt behind a front man, Swansea played Dobbie behind a front man and how on earth anyone can think Blackpool's formation was 4-4-2 is beyond me.
Nick Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Crawl out of your own arsehole Nick... With some of the offensive posts you make, knocking others views at your earliest opportunity, you are in no position to take an 'Holyer than thou' stance over anything very much.. With regard to Bert, I don't profess to know Bert, don't want to be Berts 'friend' (where you get some of your thoughts from God only knows) and was not having a personal attack against Bert or anyone else. I believe I called Bert a legend on here, only yesterday, something which, of course, you conveniently forget because it doesnt sit nicely with the point you are making. All I was saying yesterday, as well you know, is that the volume of speculation that has come out on here for days has been frustrating.. MON got my hopes up, to be let down again... Keegan, Hughes, now Strachan.. It would appear that there may be some wumming going on, which if true, is sad.. And it's difficult to sort the fact from the fiction Pardon me for bringing this up Nick! I can see through you for what you actually are, as I always have been able to.. looking to shit-stir as soon as you can So your post was not unexpected.. Why did you think it was directed at you? Was I replying to your post? Am I normally backward in coming forward when feeling the need to point out that you post like a penis of massive proportion? Crawl out of my own arsehole? You can see through me You haven't the first clue. I make offensive posts do I, or do I satirically challenge the same tired ignorance and prejudice? There are words to describe you Col - I won't do it on here, frankly I'm bored of it and am not as bigger internet warrior as you.
Happy Fox Posted 30 October 2011 Author Posted 30 October 2011 Only two bookmakers left with betting odds
teblin Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Swansea didn't have wingers as such but they had people in wide positions who could beat a man. (dyer and Sinclair) Svens problem was he didn't have a plan b. ( which stowell mentioned in his interview) so many games were screaming out for big steve or a new player in similar style. Ok having Howard does make us a bit direct, but is can also help with quick counter attacks as the ball sticks and he can play in the quicker players. Hopefully Hughes or whoever takes over gets us a new more mobile Howard. Until then big steve needs to be at least on the bench.

Time to bring back Yann methinks, who could aptly be described as a 'mobile Howard'.

Happy Fox Posted 30 October 2011 Author Posted 30 October 2011 Back to Mark Hughes what are his previous club's fans thoughts on him i.e style of play, type of coach etc
ealingfox Posted 30 October 2011 Posted 30 October 2011 Dont we have a big target man type coming through the youth ranks at the moment? Tom Hopper and Schlupp up top against Burnley please. A lethal combo at U18 level I hear.
