flowwolf Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Hughes is a very thoughtful mam. He knows given the resources he can prove himself to people in the prem on the back us .who will then think he is worthy taking over bigger fish like themselves. Short term he would be no different than MON and leave us for bigger pastures new. But hey I guess that's the best we can expect ? :dunno: :dunno:
wurmer Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 Has O'Neill said 100% he's not coming? No, but neither has Sir Alex Fergusson.
Happy Fox Posted 31 October 2011 Author Posted 31 October 2011 I still think they are trying to persuade MON.
bmt Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 (Sorry if was posted earlier) The Merc are suggesting that Hughes' people are trying to push through a deal with the owners. That would suggest to me they he's more keen on us than we are on him. I still think, aside from MON, Hughes is far and away the best candidate for the job. Completely agree. 1.) MON massive gap 2.) Hughes massive gap everyone else
iancognito Posted 31 October 2011 Posted 31 October 2011 I find it staggering that people are turning their noses up at the prospect of Having Mark Hughes as manager and championing the idea of Lee Clark Sure he could be a good manager in time but he hasn't achieved anything of note yet In fairness, neither had Nigel Pearson and he got us promoted and then into the play offs. His noteworthy achievement is turning a sow's ear into a silk purse at Huddersfield. I know they're only facts but his win rate was 32% at Fulham - which is crap In most divisions but for a club of Fulham's size in the Prem is actually pretty good.

Sow's ear into a silk purse? He was given a silk purse!
kingston_fox Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 From the slightly more reliable Fourth_Official: Fourth_Official: Mark Hughes has been in talks and we believe is still the main candidate for the job #Lcfc
Aleksz Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Indeed There may be truth in Fourth_Official's tweets.
STUHILL Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I hope so. He ticks lots of boxes for me and is the second strongest candidate after MON in my opinion
21st Century Fox Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Fourth Official was pretty reliable over the transfer window (other than the Maynard teases).
Nick Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I'd love this but I am surprised he wants the job firstly and secondly wasn't aware he was in the running - Toffee is the only one backing Sparky, hope (s) he's right.
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I got a cock n hen on Hughes at 12/1, thjis would be a dream.
Finchy Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I got a cock n hen on Hughes at 12/1, thjis would be a dream. Fair play, I only got 7/1 but still, i'll be over the moon if it's Hughes anyway.
Nick Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I got a cock n hen on Hughes at 12/1, thjis would be a dream. G'won Ric !
Jace Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 I got a cock n hen on Hughes at 12/1, thjis would be a dream. I might do the same he's been seen so many times this last week in Leicester and Id be surprised if he wasn't what the owners wanted
Toffee_Fox Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 Fourth Official was pretty reliable over the transfer window (other than the Maynard teases). Did explain that, fee, a HUGE fee was agreed it was just Bristol wanted most of it upfront and anyone in football knows deals are made in installements and addons
wurmer Posted 3 November 2011 Posted 3 November 2011 As long as it's not Dowie, Reid or Keane. Would take Gary Glitter over that lot...
Trav Le Bleu Posted 4 November 2011 Posted 4 November 2011 I just looked up info about Mark Hamill on wikipedia and accidentally clicked on the name underneath having typed in Mark H... guess who!? It's a sign I tell you!
