topharry123 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Not sure about him, mixed views. However, there's noone except o neill that i can say that i will be really happy if we appoint so hughes is probably near the top of the aceptable list of managers we could appoint,
Bert Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 You say this every time then just throw another sissy fit when someone says something again when you're wrong. First time I've said that, actually. Stupid little boy.
KP Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Have to agree with the others, Mark Hughes is better option than someone from Division One. And it would complete the set - We've had an England manager , a scot and a Northern Irish manager
Teapot. Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 To be honest, I don't really rate or like the guy. But if he gets the job done then I will take him.
Len Finsbury Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I think he's probably the best of what's available so would be happy with his appointment. His reputation was somewhat tarnished at Fulham but previously to that, he had been quite successful. Even Mancini took two seasons to get Man City to step up. He also fits in with the big name that I'm sure the owners want. Cue more Man City references to us though. "Are you Man City in disguise?" etc.
GH1 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Great manager, who did good work for Wales, Blackburn, Fulham & was building something good at ManCity before the billions complicated the issue. after MoN, who lets face it isn't coming, Hughes is the best bet... wouldn't need a ridiculous DoF through not being a big enough name either Spot on
Happy Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Author Posted 29 October 2011 When is this likely to be confirmed Monday, Tuesday?
Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 How reliable is fourth official? I can't find this story anywhere else.
Libertine Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 When is this likely to be confirmed Monday, Tuesday? Calm down. All we 'know' is that he's in talks.
Happy Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Author Posted 29 October 2011 Calm down. All we 'know' is that he's in talks. Hopefully those talks are successful, couldn't stand the prospect of having anyone else as manager unless it is MON
The Quick Brown Fox Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I think he would get us up, But saying that i think any manager could with the squad we got. I know i will be supporting the team and the manager, whoever that may be.
Babylon Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 BertLcfc BertLcfc Mark Hughes in talks with #lcfc Like Clark?
m00nie Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Like Clark? i can only say what i see. some things are right some are not...
STUHILL Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Like Clark? haha I must admit, before the summer, I thought Bert only posted 100% facts but I guess just says what he hears which is fair enough :-( Mark Hughes was my second choice though so I am happy!!!! if true..................
Guest MattP Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Would be happy, he is a good manager, decent tactician and knows a few of our players already. Some of the other names mentioned scare the shit out of me.

"Are you Man City in disguise?" etc. I suppose it depends on what you see as successfull really. If keeping Blackburn and Fulham up is successfull, then yes he was, not sure about Man City really, they weren`t really progressing under Hughes, and he bought some duds there, for a lot of money.
Callabinho Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 Mark is a steady manager, he gets things right from the ground up! He worked wonders with Blackburn! Started to form the basis of what Man City are today! He then went on to do a good job at Fulham too! Ultimately he builds stable sides capable of winning football games! Break our backs to get him in!!! Also he replaced Sven at Man City! Irony...

Way to be negative. He consistently got Blackburn pushing for Europe and to numerous FA cup semi finals and Fulham finished 8th last year, which is pretty respectable for them. Hardly just 'keeping them up'.

What? he ruled as Wales boss. Blackburn 1st season he was tasked with keeping them up, which he did & got to the FA cup semi final too 2nd season he finished in the top 6 & got to league cup semis, qualified for europe 3rd season in top 10 & got to the fa cup semis again ManCity is a strange one, he wasn't successful there - I think the billions complicated things and it was always obvious he wasn't favoured by the new owners who took over shortly after him He finished 8th with Fulham & qualified for Europe before quitting through them apparently lacking ambition, ie they wouldn't sign players he wanted or something All in all I'll be happy with top half Prem finishes and cup semi finals & regular european trips, wouldn't you?
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 If one thing has proven to be true over the last few days it's the absolute bollox that gets posted on this forum about who may or may not be coming Sundry individuals claiming to know who's in talks and who's gonna sign as the next manager etc etc Does anybody really know anything much about this? Heres a tip: Post something if and when you actually know something to be true. If you don't really know, wait until you do and stop making yourselves look a twat.. Only today we must have been 'in talks' with three different possibles! In the same day!
irishgus Posted 29 October 2011 Posted 29 October 2011 I'll be happy with Hughes and most people on here feel the same way by the look of things so lets get him in and go about our business on getting out of this league!!

Someone spouts something vaguely believable and everyone seems to accept it as gospel truth. I think there's a few people out their taking the piss out of Leicester fans and loving every minute of it.

Fourth Official (aka Toffee Fox) got 99% of transfers right over the summer before they were know elsewhere, the only one messed up seemed to be Wayne Routledge. From their record they're not just 'someone' spouting something vaguely believable, although they could of course be wrong here, we'll probably know more on Monday & I'm sure whoever it is will be in the stands. on Tuesday & introduced to the fans next week Vs Leeds
