One for the Smutsmeister:

Geographer have released a new track from their upcoming 2012 release, Myth.

Yes Geographer! One of my best finds of last year that.

Maccabees new album is out on Monday. Love Pelican and expect big things there. Got my ticket for Brixton this month too.

Bombay Bicycle Club ticket is in the post as well which should be top notch again.

Have to say that Skrillex has to be the biggest load of bollox I've heard in a long time.............maybe I'm just getting old!

Nah he is actually terrible. Regardless of age.

The Walkmen

Defo! New album out this year. If it builds on Lisbon, will be a killer. Hope they play it live over here too. Great band.

Looking forward to new albums by The Walkmen (see above), The National, Kathleen Edwards and Kent. Anything else will be a bonus. Felice Brothers in Brum in March will be good and more than likely going to a fest or two.

2011 not a great year, so hoping 2012 shapes up a bit better.

Michael Kiwanuka is my new favourite artist at the minute, dont think he'll become a worldwide superstar but his voice is pretty great.

Totally agree

Mumford and Sons must be releasing an album in 2012, they have already played a lot of the new stuff on their last tour/festival. Looking forward to it, some of the songs sound great.

Thanks for that.

Still makes me chuckle to myself when I think back to when Astbury joined the reformed Doors. They kicked him out and pulled the tour because he was 'too rock 'n' roll' for them. 'Too rock 'n' roll' FFS! These are band members who were fronted by Jim Morrison! How the hell can anyone be more rock 'n' roll than Morrison?

Doesn't Ian Astbury look like Jim Morrison in this picture?
