Jonezy Posted 2 August 2012 Share Posted 2 August 2012 I have to say that, since watching Adam Buxton's BUG, I'm loving Grimes. Yep. I'm loving Grimes too. Favorite album of the year so far for me. I generally quite enjoy this Canadian synth music thing going on with artists like Crystal Castles, Austra, Trust and Grimes.

StanSP Posted 16 August 2012 Author Share Posted 16 August 2012 People are raving about them, comparisons to Radiohead are drawn. Decide for yourselves: Love them since being introduced around mid-May. Their album is still as good as it was on the first listen. Fantastic band and have had the pleasure of meeting them after seeing them in Newcastle. If you like them, you may like Cave Painting

21st Century Fox Posted 30 August 2012 Share Posted 30 August 2012 I'm really liking Bob Dylan's new song. I've not been able to get into his last few albums but this sounds promising. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2r5C-t4naw

MC Prussian Posted 2 September 2012 Share Posted 2 September 2012 I cannot stress enough how good this album is: Obviously, Grizzly Bear have listened quite a lot to Pink Floyd and The Eagles. The result is a pop music masterpiece.
Petchy Posted 3 September 2012 Share Posted 3 September 2012 I don't venture to this part of the forum much, but I must say the Alt-J and Grizzly Bear recommendations are good shouts! My favourite album of the year so far is 'Enjoy It While It Lasts' by Spector. At the moment they're fairly unknown, but have a very good soft indie rock sound to them. It's easily an album you can listen all the way through without having to skip. My personal favourites are 'Celestine', 'Never Fade Away' and 'Upset Boulevard'. MC Prussian Posted 10 September 2012 Share Posted 10 September 2012 Don't know why Grizzly Bear didn't include these five songs on their new album: Wonderfully mellow and melodic.
