Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 25 May 2012 Posted 25 May 2012 That new Temper Trap album does nothing for me at all, I thought the first was flimsy at best but that effort really isn't my cup of tea.
Leicester_Numan Posted 28 May 2012 Posted 28 May 2012 Ultravox have got a new album out today. I think i'll see if there's any clips on Amazon before I buy it. If they go back to doing what they do best it should be good. If they've carried on down Midge Ure's sad old fart road, I won't bother
LcFc_Smiv Posted 30 May 2012 Posted 30 May 2012 Any one got of monster of men's album, its pretty impressive male and female vocals bit like the xx meets Mumford. Fantastic album!! My mate recommended 'Dirty paws' a few weeks ago, been listening to them ever since.
Uncle Phil Posted 2 June 2012 Posted 2 June 2012 New Tragedy record out, Darker Days Ahead if anyone's into a bit of noisy D-beat. Not as good as Vengeance though.
MC Prussian Posted 6 June 2012 Posted 6 June 2012 Canadian rock isn't really treated the way it should be. Joel Plaskett and his Emergency is one of these cases:
StanSP Posted 7 June 2012 Author Posted 7 June 2012 Alt-J Cave Painting Saw both of these on Monday at Newcastle in The Cluny. Cave Painting's EP was actually released late last year, but was just wondering who else had heard of them? Alt-J's album was released a couple of weeks ago. I've been listening to it non-stop. I love them. Breezeblocks, Tessellate and Matilda are my 3 favourites off the album. Anyone else like them?
The Doctor Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 If the ending is a sample of a new track, I'm not all that impressed.
Daggers Posted 7 June 2012 Posted 7 June 2012 I am enjoying the new Spiritualized album Huh? very much. Huh?
StanSP Posted 8 June 2012 Author Posted 8 June 2012 Great album I think. What's your favourite track(s)?
lavrentis Posted 8 June 2012 Posted 8 June 2012 Great album I think. What's your favourite track(s)? Hard but I think I've listened to Pantheon the most
SemperEadem Posted 12 June 2012 Posted 12 June 2012 New Maxïmo Park album. It's good. So nearly bought this today.
StanSP Posted 17 June 2012 Author Posted 17 June 2012 Linkin Park - Living Things. Not bad. They always deliver, in my opinion. Even when they take different directions like in previous albums, they always manage to make it work.
SystonFox Posted 18 June 2012 Posted 18 June 2012 If the ending is a sample of a new track, I'm not all that impressed. Big muse fan here. The end sample (dubstep) vibe is nothing too different to some of the Jams and improvs they do in live shows particularly when Matt uses a kaoss pad during SMBH (once with his tongue at a gig in Japan, amazing!) so I'm Not too fussed on the trailer. From what I understand it'll be very orchestral and a big use of strings (possibly harps?) with some epic symphonies. Think Absolution meets ExoGenesis 1,2 & 3
MC Prussian Posted 21 June 2012 Posted 21 June 2012 Starts off well (the first three tracks are pure gold), the rest is a bit meh, but still good:
hairy Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Kiyoko - Sea Of Trees Its a side project from Synkro. Review:- This isn’t a piece of music you’ll find topping the charts on beatport or even in the bag of your favourite DJ. It is however, exceptionally good armchair music that perfectly suits that late night bubble we all find ourselves in at one time or another. It flows nicely together as a constructed album, one of those that’s so tranquil you almost forget it’s on despite it being very emotive, and the purely analog nature of it adds to it’s charm and elegance. In a world where technological advances and cheap equipment make it easy for anyone to become a producer (of sorts), it’s refreshing to hear those that can still hold it down on hardware and those that still relish those twelve inch plastic disks. http://soundcloud.com/kiyokomusik
MC Prussian Posted 22 June 2012 Posted 22 June 2012 Two suggestions for the Smutsmeister and Roo Fox:
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 25 June 2012 Posted 25 June 2012 Two suggestions for the Smutsmeister and Roo Fox: Only had a chance to listen to one Stepdad song, pick and choose. It was pretty good nice easy Electro Pop will be giving the others a listen based on that tune.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 July 2012 Posted 3 July 2012 This is completely perfect. Can't wait for Hyde Park in August.
