If its true that Hull have refused permission,i just can't see Pearson resigning, where does this leave us ?

What do you expect the only high caliber appointment would be MON but that is not happening, NP will do a sufficient job.

What about Mark Hughes or Roberto Di Matteo? :dunno:

Dont get me wrong, Nigel Pearson shouldnt have been let go from Leicester in the first place but will he really leave Hull :dunno: and would he do the bizz?

Whether Nige is the right man or best man for the job is debatable but one thing is for sure for me, that he deserves a chance to prove that he can take us to the next level.

He was shafted last time around, if he fails this time due to results then fair enough but he at least has earnt the right to see if he can finish what he started.

If he gets the gig i'll be delighted for him and behind him 100%.

Pearson also did a bit of shafting himself - ask Max Gradel..

His record of signings wasn't the best, either. How many of the players he bought last time around are good enough to take us to the Premier League and keep us there?

He was working within his means, which were a hell of a lot more stringent than they are now. As for Gradel, nobody knows what was going on behind the scenes so I for one will reserve judgement on that.

His biggest test for me will be how he spends the money available to him, his transfer dealings on the whole during his tenure were more hit than miss so I think he'll do alright, there aren't any managers who don't sign the odd turkey along the way, even the great Sir Alex.

Pearson will do a good job he is a competent manager at this level may not be high profile for the Thais but who really gives a f**k.

You gonna change your name to "Moderately Content Fox" now??

I agree with you on the first point but I think the second is a bit unfair.

Pearson found some gems on a very limited budget and I do believe Wellens was his most expensive at a fraction over £1m.

I find it difficult to imagine he'd have spent badly if given the money Sven was over the summer.

How do you define if someone is good enough to get us to the premier league or not? Hull went up a few years ago with a group of players who you wouldn't expect to get promoted to the promised land, then they stayed there for a few seasons, like wise with Stoke.

names are not what takes you up from this league, it's sheer grit, guts and determination! Nigel picked men in his team that had exactly that, and they got within touching distance.

A lot of those players are still with us and are the ones that in my opinion are the only ones who know what you need in this league.

Pearson actually bought in some cracking players in his time here, much better than Sven or Sousa have. Spearing - now a regular in the premier league, Davies- again now a regular in the PL, Cleverly playing for the best team in the country on a regular basis. He knows how to spot young, hungry talent and can the best of out of them.

The sooner we realise that young and hungry with something to prove players are a billion times better than 'Big Names' who think their too good for this league, the sooner we go up. It's as simple as that. NP knows this and that is why I will be excited if he is the man.

Really? His knowlede of players (or should I say Steve Walsh's) saw us watching Mark Davies, Tom Cleverley, Jay Spearing and David Stockdale in Leicester shirts (who have all performed well in Premier league games). I appreciate they were loans but they show he can be trusted with investment. He also bought Tunchev who looked a class act pre-injury and may be getting back there too

Never, the reason I am a Happy Fox is due to my undying love for this club through the good times and the bad times UTF :scarf:

If I was him I'd tell us to fuck off.

I certainly wouldn't blame him but I think there's part of him that wants to come back to prove a point.

That and the prospect of more money, of course. :D

Am i the only fan who feels really disapointed with the names being mentioned with the club we all love? Surely we arent that much of a tin pot club that we only attract poor options?

All looked pretty tin-pot to me today, especially in the final third. The lack of creative quality in the area that matters most was appalling. I doubt there's a queue waiting to manage that.

Spot on - except in reverse order...

I have no doubt that if we made an official approach it is because we know he wants to come. Let's not be naive here, the official routes are not really the way it works.
