Kurrif Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Very happy, if not MON then Pearson is my next choice so lets go for it. I would love to know however what (if anything) they offered MON? Still lets get some consistency with Nigel I am convinced he will take us up although probably not this season so TOP keep your finger off that trigger!!!!
LukeyZade Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 if he does come, doubters change your attitude and get behind him. blue army
Babylon Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Thing is we only ever score one goal a game under him............. Cardiff 2 - 3 Leicester Leicester 4 - 1 Watford Leicester 4 - 0 QPR Leicester 3 - 0 Nottm Forest Leicester 5 - 1 Scunthorpe Leicester 3 - 0 Sheff Wed Watford 3 - 3 Leicester Leicester 2 - 1 Swansea Leicester 2 - 1 Blackpool Leicester 2 - 0 C Palace QPR 1 - 2 Leicester Leicester 2 - 1 Sheff Utd Cardiff 4 - 2 Leicester Blackpool 1 - 2 Leicester Leicester 2 - 2 Coventry Peterborough 1 - 2 Leicester Leicester 2 - 0 Middlesbro
flowwolf Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Oh God talk about throw the monkeys a peanut . You lot said the same old shite about Erickson. This a desperation appointment nothing more. The managers job here is a poison challis , no high profile manager would touch it with a barge pole hence we end up with Pearson despite our all knowing owners saying the opposite. Get ready for turgid football, this really is a massive step back for us all.

TravellingFox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 I know it's been repeated over and over again but statistically he's been one of our greatest managers. I know we're completely different club from when he left but I can see him doing what he does best and that's making a difficult to beat team with half decent firepower up front. I'd take 1-0 wins all season if it ment us going up.
flowwolf Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Well maybe babylon but it is just my opinion and I thought that was the whole point of the site ? And as for one of our greatest managers ? please stop eating the magic mushrooms.
Babylon Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Well maybe but it is just my opinion and I thought that was the whole point of the site ? An opinion built on no facts. is not really an opinion worth being heard.

The Coventry game was a nightmare, that was a game where we played absolutely gorgeous football for 45 minutes, then surrendered in the second half. Thanks for refreshing my memory, we were brilliant in some of those.

Grind it out when you have to.
sphericalfox Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Does it matter if you are scoring more? At the moment we are doing neither. Suppose Weale was in goal... I'll give Pearson a go again, but this spectacular optimism of him using his magic wand some sort of revolution is slightly misguided. I have my doubts but I won't be spending the next 18mths berating him in every single move he makes like some of the haters have done against Sven even before he had managed a game.

I have my doubts but I won't be spending the next 18mths berating him in every single move he makes like some of the haters have done against Sven even before he had managed a game. I don't think he has a magic wand, there are the same risks with him as there are with an manager. But, he has done it here before and quite a few of the better players he had then are still here. I believe we have a good set of players (better than he had before), lacking in width granted. But essentially a talented bunch who have missed some form of guidance. With a set system and some motivation I think we'll have a good team. And if NP brings anything it's a system and motivation. That's why form the Start I wanted Davies (I'd ruled out NP), because I believe he offers the same style of management.
Tielemans63 Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 This sounds a bit weird but I think this is a panic appointment by the owners (from their point of view, I don't think NP was even an option until very, very recently) but a panic appointment I thoroughly endorse and a move I think can only be good for the club. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with a bigger budget and a more-talented set of players. Plus I've missed that winning smile.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 7 November 2011 Posted 7 November 2011 Plus I've missed that winning smile. I did a double take there, I cannot quite believe that an earthly creature could be so beautiful. Welcome back Nigel. I was a bit sad when you left, and I'm a bit happy now you're back

I never disagreed that Davies couldn't get us to the playoffs, nor do I think it not out any real possibility that Pearson can, but I wonder what the reaction will be should he fail. Will it be blame Sven, or blame the owners? It'll be be interested one way or the other. But on Davies, he's never satisfied. Which can be a great attribute for a manager, but there has to be a limit. Those who say he did things on a shoestring, probably don't know that he had been given pretty big shoes, and some pretty fat laces. I myself would have been pretty bitter had it been Davies or Jones. I would be grumble for the rest of the season not bitch and moan. The fact that it looks pretty much written in stone for Pearson however doesn't get me jumping for joy either. I'm not being the pessimist here, but I disagree in the exuberant optimism that some posters are wallowing in.
